Chapter 18
"Is that him?" Shane looked out the car window and spotted a young man with short black hair. He was dressed plainly and was in the middle of putting out herbs to dry.
"Yes. That's him." Anderson rolled down his window halfway and gazed at the young man with sharp eyes. In his hands was a pink strawberry keychain. It looked new and was made with cheap plastic.
He found it in Mayra's room last night by her bedside. Even in her sleep, she held it tightly in her hands.
"Mayra is still young and naive," Anderson said as he tightly gripped the keychain, his eyes dark and cold.
"Shane," he said.
"Yes. Mr. Barlow." Shane immediately understood and exited the car. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
Gordon seemed to notice Shane's presence and directed his gaze at him.
Shane walked over to him. "Gordan Thorp?" Gordon remained silent as he studied the man before him.
Shane tossed the pink strawberry keychain to him. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Shane, the secretary of Ms. Sandler's brother.
"Mr. Barlow has instructed me to return this to its rightful owner. Ms. Sandler is still young and naive. What she said before was merely jest and shouldn't be taken seriously.
"The both of you are still young and your top priority should be your studies. After all, your life has only recently settled. I'm sure you wouldn't want to lose everything you have right now, would you?"
Shane continued, "With everything I've said, I hope you'll seriously think it through. In terms of your mother's medical expenses, Mr. Barlow has generously decided to help out."
Gordon tightened his fists, his gaze filled with hostility. "What do you want?"
Shane replied, "Stay away from Ms. Sandler, and don't disturb her life."
Upon hearing these words, Gordon diverted his gaze toward the expensive car nearby. He met with Anderson's sharp eyes. As Gordan stared at him, his grip on the keychain gradually tightened…
Anderson was the first to withdraw his gaze, his eyes filled with arrogance. Shane walked around the car and got into the driver's seat. He asked, "Are we heading back to the company, Mr. Barlow?"
Anderson replied, "There's no rush. Head to the mall."
Shane paused but quickly caught on. "Are you planning to buy a gift for Ms. Sandler?"
Anderson didn't reply, but his silence was confirmation enough.
They soon arrived at a high-end jewelry shop in the mall. Besides the banquets and meetings he usually attended with Anderson, this was Shane's first time at a place like this.
With a perfect smile, the jewelry shop manager, Bob, guided Anderson through the shop and carefully introduced each section to him.
They soon made it to the third floor. Bob gestured toward a display area and said, "Here we have our Angelica brand jewelry that is specially designed for young girls.
"If you don't mind me asking, who are you shopping for today? We offer a wide range of items, including bracelets, necklaces, and watches."
Glancing over, Anderson spotted a pink crystal charm bracelet adorned with diamonds in the glass cabinet. He swiftly walked over to take a closer look.
Bob immediately instructed the staff to bring out the bracelet. "Mr. Barlow, let me introduce this piece of jewelry to you. This is a limited-edition charm bracelet that was just released this year. There is only one piece in the entire market.
"This charm bracelet is embedded with 520 diamonds and is in a very feminine pink color. Even the clasp on the bracelet is handcrafted with the best materials."
Anderson took the bracelet in his hands, examining it closely. "Do you think she'll like it?"
Shane nodded. "I'm sure she will. After all, this is a gift you bought for her."
Anderson said, "I'll take it. Wrap it up in a simple packaging."
