Chapter 70
After finishing her business in Dewhurst, Sabrina allowed herself to relax and enjoy.
Gerald was very thoughtful. When the plane landed, an interesting young woman greeted them and became their tour guide for the entire trip.
She took them on leisurely tours of the scenic spots and found a tranquil cafe in a busy area where they could enjoy flowers, greenery, and sunshine. She even introduced them to local delicacies.
Ever since Sabrina's father passed away, she hadn't experienced such a relaxed and enjoyable life.
And it was all arranged by Gerald.
Yet, he never once called or texted her. The hotel would deliver a bouquet of Sweetheart Roses daily with a card that read, "Sweetheart, be happy." NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Dewhurst's weather was spring-like all year round, with a clear blue sky and rolling mountains in the distance. It was an ideal place to live.
After three days, Sabrina felt she hadn't had enough of the trip and hoped to stay a few more days.
She bid the young tour guide goodbye. The journey from Dewhurst to Panshaw would take over four hours by high-speed rail. She and Abigail planned the rest of the trip themselves.
"Thank you so much. Please tell Gerald that I truly enjoyed my time here."
They arrived at Panshaw. Abigail eagerly headed out after dropping off their luggage.
They had chosen an area that had fewer tourists. With that, they could see dogs roaming freely.
Abigail played with the dogs by the street in a pretty floral dress. The bustling city noises were nonexistent. There were babbling streams with small bridges right next to the cobblestone streets in
Panshaw. Sabrina loved this kind of quiet and leisurely life.
While the two were taking pictures together, someone called out, "Abby!"
The deep and pleasant voice made Abigail's back stiffen instantly.
Sabrina looked over with a frown as well. In the sunlight stood a hunky man dressed in a light blue casual buttoned-up shirt, a white T-shirt, and beige casual pants. He looked elegant and stylish.
He stood nearby while smiling at Abigail.
After a while, he said, "Abby, come over."
Abigail turned pale and instinctively took a step back.
Sabrina stood before Abigail and greeted, "Mr. Banks, what a coincidence."
Frederick approached them.
"It's not really a coincidence… I've been waiting for her."
Frederick scrutinized Abigail from head to toe. After several years, the once shy Abigail had blossomed into a stunning flower.
His invasive gaze made Abigail gasp. She looked away to avoid eye contact with him.
"We don't know you," Sabrina said as she pulled Abigail away.
"Ms. Wyatt, we're old acquaintances. You might be dignified, but I'm not."
He added, "Abby, what do you think?"
Abigail knew of Frederick's capabilities and methods.
She pursed her lips and said, "Sabrina, go back and wait for me."
Frederick was pleased with Abigail's attitude.
He affectionately patted her head and said to Sabrina, "Ms. Wyatt, I also suggest you return to the inn first."
A foreboding feeling rose in Sabrina's heart.
Panshaw was small, so reaching the inn took less than ten minutes.
Nelson sat on the couch in the sunken communal space while drinking tea.
Upon hearing her voice, he slowly looked over.
"You're back."
"You helped Frederick," Sabrina stated.
Nelson handed her a cup of tea and noticed the sweat on her nose.
Sabrina knocked the teacup out of his hand and glared at him.
"Did you know that Abigail was almost ruined by him?"
Nelson quietly observed Sabrina with his head tilted. Her hair was braided, and she wore a sleeveless pink blouse paired with flowy white pants. Without any makeup, she looked like an innocent, wealthy lady.
Nelson imagined this might've been Sabrina's true self if he had met her several years earlier.
"Abigail is stealing my home and ruining my marriage. I'm just keeping her occupied."
Nelson stood before Sabrina and lifted her chin. He looked at her alluring neck and fair skin.
"Sabrina, I've missed you a lot."
Sabrina reckoned that this must be the first romantic thing he had ever told her. However, she felt that what he missed wasn't her but her body.
That night, his calm reaction toward her trip surprised her.
After considering Pamela's pregnancy, Sabrina thought Nelson might have stopped caring. After all, they were heading for divorce.
She hadn't expected him to have such a devious plan.
"Don't blame me for going to such lengths."
Nelson hugged her and kissed her shoulder.
"You're hard to handle. If I don't sign the divorce papers, you will have caused a scene in public to obtain a divorce. I came up with this solution after a long consideration. If you agree, I can ensure Frederick doesn't trouble Abigail."
Nelson brushed his lips from her shoulder to her neck and then nibbled on her ear. His breathing was heavy and hot, almost scorching her.
"Nelson, Abigail is just my friend. She isn't that important."
Sabrina tried to calm down.
Nelson's chuckle vibrated through her neck before he released her.
His gaze still held a trace of desire. Yet, he spoke with clarity.
"You can ignore it, but you can't stop Frederick from taking Abigail away."
He sat back down and leisurely poured himself some more tea to suppress his desire for her.
Nelson recalled Justin's words from that day. Justin claimed that desire would become unstoppable once it was unleashed.
Indeed, Nelson yearned endlessly for Sabrina.
The sun warmed Sabrina's body, but her heart felt cold.
After years in the business industry, she learned that she shouldn't reveal her care toward the outcome in crucial negotiations.
Nelson glanced at her again. She had already regained her composure as she sat diagonally opposite him.
"People are self-serving, and I'm no exception. I won't choose to give up the chance for a divorce with you for Abigail's sake."
Sabrina mirrored his posture. She crossed her legs with a lazy elegance.
Nelson found it interesting.
"Fine. I hope you can hold out."
Sabrina bit her lip while feeling nervous.
Her bond with Abigail was stronger than that of a family. Knowing Abigail's situation with Frederick, she couldn't simply let Frederick take Abigail away.
Time ticked by as they faced off. Her eyes reddened with suppressed emotions. Finally, she stood up and walked toward him, looking particularly aggrieved.
