Chapter 19
Chapter 19
I released a long sigh and cleared my throat. They are waiting for me to talk. Sabrina nodded and that's
my cue to start.
"I have been keeping this for a long time. I think it's time for you to know," I paused as I looked at them,
"I have three spirits." I revealed.
I waited for their reaction. It's like they were processing my revelation. Sabrina's forehead creased in
confusion and later, the other two creased their foreheads too.
"What do you mean?" they all mumbled in unison.
I sighed. This is hard as I thought. "You already know that I am a hybrid right?" they all nodded.
"So, at the start, I have only one spirit and that is my inner wolf named Xandra." I paused and eyed
them. I looked at Layla and spoke, "Layla, do you remember when I was drenching in blood?" she
nodded.
"The time when I ran away from you is the time my inner vampire, Val, and my inner witch, Willow, had
talked to me. So, I learned that I have three spirits with me." I explained.
They all went silent as they tried to process the information.
"That is strange, Alex, I have never read anything like that in the Chosen One book. The book never
mentioned a hybrid having three spirits. I mean, hybrids consist of different genes but this information
you shared is new." Sabrina uttered suspiciously.
I nodded and said, "Not everything was stated in the book, Sabrina. Sometimes, you should rely on the
information based on what you see and hear. Books are just there to give you some information but not
full details. Like the prophecy book, it never gives exact information. It is just there giving warning for
future happenings. But every future might change for some unknown reasons."
All three stared at me in amusement. "You're right, Alex. Ugh, you're really a mystery! You are the exact
definition of a prophecy book!" Sabrina mumbled.
I giggled, "Well, I'm the living proof of a hybrid and you should expect to find out more about me." she
nodded.
"Okay, let's call it a day. We will resume tomorrow morning. I have to go back to my castle before my
fellow witches notice I am long gone." Sabrina uttered.
"Wait---I still have to tell you something."
"What is it?"
"Now, you already know that I have three spirits right?" they nodded, "So, for some reasons we can all
switch. One of these days, maybe one of my spirits will be fronted. It's either Xandra, Val or Willow, it
depends on the situation."
They all gasped. "How will we know if it isn't you?" Azrael mumbled.
I smiled at them and said, "You will easily detect who we are. Val has red eyes, Xandra has ocean blue
eyes and Willow has forest green eyes." they all nodded.
"Are they nice?" Layla asked. I smile.
"It's for you to find out." I said while giggling. Layla pouted.
"So, is that all, Alex?" Sabrina asked and I nodded.
"You can go now, Sabrina." I mumbled and she nodded.
We all stood up and Sabrina casted a spell again to remove the barriers.
Azrael walked by my side and I smiled at him. He smiled back and held my hand which surprised me.
My three spirits screamed in my head. Ugh, what the h*ll? I rolled my eyes. They were so excited to be
known by our mate.
~~~~~
Azrael, Layla and I went to the garden. I saw some maids doing house chores. I asked one of them if I
could help but they all declined. I miss doing house chores though.
I smiled when I saw white flowers and smelled them. It smells nice.
"Hmm, it smells so nice." Layla mumbled beside me. I smile at her.
"Alex!" I looked behind my back when Azrael called me. I raised an eyebrow when I saw him smiling
widely at me. He was hiding something behind his back. He walked towards me still grinning from ear
to ear.
"What?" I asked when he's in front of me. He gave me a big smile and stepped closer towards me. I
was stunned with his gestures. His face slowly leaned in to me and I swallowed my saliva in
anticipation. His smile grew even wider and he raised his hands. Then I noticed what he was holding. A
white rose without thorns, looks like he took the thorns. He slipped the rose behind my ear and smiled.
"There, you look even more beautiful." he mumbled and I feel like my face reddened. He chuckled. I
saw his eyes sparkling. He's happy. I smiled at him and mumbled, "Thanks."
I heard footsteps running away. I turned and couldn't help myself but frowned when I saw Layla running
towards the mansion.
What happened to her? Layla was acting weird. I really have to talk to her. It bothers me so much.
"Layla is weird." Azrael mumbled. I hummed and looked at him.
"Azrael, is it okay with you if I will follow Layla? I need to talk to her. Something was bothering her
these days." I said and he nodded.
I walked towards the mansion and looked for Layla. Where did she go? I walked up the stairs into her
room when her scent was stronger there.
Do you think Layla has problems?
I don't know, Xandra.
She's really acting weird.
Yeah.
I sighed. Something off about Layla. She was fine earlier.
When I reached her door, I knocked slightly. I heard her sniffles. I frowned.
"Layla? Can we talk?" I said. There was silence. Then I heard her walking towards the door but I can
sense her hesitation. She's debating herself whether to talk to me or not. Until she opened the door. A
look of relief washed over her face when she saw I was alone. I noticed her eyes were fluffy and red.
She was crying.
She led me inside her room and closed the door then locked it. I sat at the edge of the bed and she
also sat beside me. "What's wrong, Layla?" I asked. She bowed down her head while playing with her
hands.
"Nothing." she mumbled and it irritated me.
"Layla, I know something was wrong with you. Please talk to me." Layla heaved a sigh.
"Please, Alex, leave it. I'm not ready to talk about it." I sighed frustratedly.
"Fine. Tell me when you are ready." I said in irritation and stood up from the bed. She didn't even look
at me.
I sighed and darted out from her room. I need fresh air. I closed my eyes and teleported myself to the
place where I had grown up.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the peaceful lake. I sat at the rock which covered by a snow and stared
at the water.
A gasp came out from my mouth when I noticed something under the water. What was that? My heart
was pounding in nervousness.
When my eyes darted to the snowy ground, I saw plenty of dried blood. I gulped. I almost stumbled into
the ground when I confirmed what was under the water.
It's a dead body. I quickly ran away from the lake into the pack house. Dried blood was still pasted on
the snowy ground but I didn't see dead bodies. I gasped when I went inside the pack house. It was a This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
whole mess like there was a thunderstorm occurring and blood was scattered everywhere. Like there's
a monster slaughtering all the werewolves.
Come to think of it, it was very odd why vampires would kill the whole pack if they are only looking for
me? What really happened? There's something going on in here. Did the vampires kill the whole pack?
I doubt that. If it was the vampires, there shouldn't have been blood scattered everywhere. Vampire is a
bloodsucker creature and it's a waste if they let blood slip onto the ground.
I think the attacker is not a vampire. It was all an act. I should talk to Vorges. I needed his opinion.
My forehead creased when I noticed something on the wall. There was a message in the wall. The
owner used blood to write.
'I WILL FIND YOU, CHOSEN ONE'
I gasped loudly. That's when I noticed a big footprint on the floor. That's not a normal sized of a foot. It's
long and big. What kind of animals were here? Now, it's confirmed. Vampires are not the attacker.
I saw the big footprint going to the stairs. I swallowed my saliva and slowly walked towards the stairs. I
opened the first room and it was all wrecked and blood was scattered everywhere. It smells so bad. I
quickly close the door. The second, third, and fourth rooms were the same. But when I reached Jason's
room, it was wrecked too but there's no blood. I noticed something on the floor. It was shining. I looked
closer and it was a pendant carved in letter A. I put it in my pocket and left the room.
Next, I opened Liza's room. I found it empty but it's not wrecked. That's odd. I decided to check Alpha
Rick's room. And it was a chaos. Only a few drops of blood was on the floor. But something caught my
eyes.
The cabinet was slightly opened. I slowly walked closer towards the cabinet. I breathed deeply and
counted one to three then opened the door. I sighed when I only saw clothes hanging. I am about to
walk away from the cabinet when I notice something again. I quickly pulled out the clothes and I saw a
small doorknob. I was curious what was in there.
Alex, are you sure you want to go in? Val interrupts my thoughts.
I was curious.
We're curious too.
Then, we'll go in.
I hummed then grabbed the doorknob and turned it. I'm surprised it isn't locked. Darkness greeted me.
I closed the door behind me and let my eyes glow in the dark. Now I can see clearly.
This room was small. I saw a lot of shelves and there were some things in there. Some were tools for
making weapons and I saw old weapons on one of the shelves. What caught my eyes is the scythe. It
looks like it was calling my name. I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I touched the scythe and it suddenly
glowed. I gasped.
Alex! The scythe chose you!
What?
It's a legendary weapon. Let's take it.
Okay.
I continued moving around to find some interesting things. Until an item caught my eyes. It was a
painting of me and my parents when I was little. I quickly grabbed the item and hugged it. I feel like
crying. I thought Alpha Rick threw it away!
I stop dead on my tracks when I smell a familiar scent lingering around the packhouse. My heart was
pounding. Then I heard the door open outside. The scent was so strong and the owner is in this room
as I heard footsteps roaming around the room. It's like the person was looking for something.
My eyes widened when the doorknob slowly turned. I panic.
Alex, make yourself invisible!
How?
Let me in front!
Okay, Willow! Faster!
Then I felt dizzy. It's like some force was pulling me up.
~~~~~
Willow's POV
I was in awe when I noticed where I was. I look at my hands when I was holding something. Oh it was
a painting and a scythe. A sound of the turning doorknob got back on my trance. Sh*t!
I quickly made myself invisible and walked towards the end wall and leaned in while eyeing the person
who went in. The lights turned on and my eyes widened when I saw the person's face.
What the h*ll? No sh*t Sherlock!
What is he doing here?
I saw him looking at something on the shelves.
"Where did you hide it, Alpha." the man mumbled. What is he looking for?
When I looked up, I noticed a black box at the top of the shelves. Oh please don't look up! I should look
at it first.
A grin formed on my lips. I teleported outside into the living room. I looked around and found a half
broken vase but it could help.
On a count of three, I threw the vase on the wall and it made a loud sound. Then I heard footsteps
trotted out from the Alpha's room.
Yes! I grinned and teleported myself back into the secret room. I didn't waste any time and got the
black box.
I quickly teleported myself back to Alex's room in Sabrina's mansion. I put the painting, scythe and the
black box on Alex's bed.
I was really curious what was inside the box. I feel like it's important. Oh well, I should let Alex be in
front now. I closed my eyes and called out Alex. I felt dizzy. Again, a strong force pulled me up.
Oh well, I could get used to this from now on. I think I will be in front always because Alex needed me.
She still has to use our magic properly.
