Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 288

Besides, Naomi would not allow herself to embark on a new relationship just months after her divorce. She was not the kind of person to move on quickly, and no one could tell her otherwise.

"Okay, Amelia. Since you've finished your work early for once, I think you should get some rest. It'll be good for you to stay up too late." Naomi tried to change the conversation.

Amelia could tell that Naomi did not feel like talking about it anymore, so she sighed. She had known Naomi for a long time now, and so she was familiar with her personality. Naomi operated at her own pace and was stubbornly persistent in the things she believed in, so there was no way she could change Naomi's mind.

Amelia could not help pitying Charles. It would not be easy for him to win Naomi's heart.

Naomi was rather amused to hear Amelia's sighs. "Alright, stop sighing and get some rest."

All of a sudden, an image materialized in Amelia's mind. It was an image of Naomi, Charles, and a little kid standing on a field, the warm sunlight embracing the trio as they gazed out at the view before them. It was a heartwarming sight, and suddenly, Amelia felt her chest tighten.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Although Naomi was slow, it was not entirely a bad thing. Naomi's personality made it so that she was difficult to pursue, and thus, any man would be more appreciative of her if they ever won her heart. Unlike that wretched Scott Lawson, who did not appreciate Naomi for who she was. Instead, he neglected her throughout their marriage simply because he had won her over too easily! Amelia's expression turned solemn. Naomi was right!

Although Charles was a good man who would treat Naomi right, she still thought it would not be a bad idea to put Charles through some challenges and hardships while pursuing Naomi. That way, he would cherish her, and Naomi would finally get the love she deserved.

Amelia felt as though a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She sat up in her chair and continued munching on her walnuts. She would chat a little bit more with Naomi and then get off the call so Naomi could rest.

After all, she was familiar with Naomi's schedule and knew that it was already time for bed.

However, just as Amelia was about to speak, she felt an excruciating pain shoot through her abdomen. She instinctively let out a groan.

Naomi, who had intended to hang up after bidding Amelia goodbye, immediately felt her heart clench when she heard Amelia's groans. "Amelia, are you okay?"

Amelia's entire body was curled up

in pain, and she had both her hands over her abdomen. She finally replied, "I...I don't know why my tummy hurts so much all of a sudden."

"Your tummy hurts? Do you have food poisoning? What did you eat?" Naomi was distraught.

"Nothing out of the ordinary," Amelia replied, but all of a sudden, she let out another groan.

Naomi furrowed her brows. Her mind was racing at this point, trying to think of reasons Amelia could have abdominal pain out of the blue. The only thing she could think of was appendicitis, but she recalled that Amelia had already had her appendix removed back in junior high.

Although it was likely that Amelia was suffering from food poisoning, she was still worried it would be something else. She had to get Ameliato a hospital no matter what,

so she quickly said, "Amelia, can you walk? Call 911 right now."

All of a sudden, something occurred to her. "Where are you right now? Are you in Willowstown?"

"No, I'm not. I'm on a business trip..." Amelia's voice was clearly growing weaker and interspersed with agony.

Naomi's grip tightened around her phone, but she tried her best to remain calm. "Where are you now?"

"I'm at... Ow..." Amelia let out another painful moan, and with that, her voice grew even fainter.

Naomi's heart leaped into her throat. "Answer me, Amelia."

"San Angelino.."
