Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 231

Chapter 231

After an entire day of rain, Herland finally saw some sun the next day. Naomi and her colleagues had been working their butts off the past few days, but no one complained about the busy schedule. On the contrary, they all felt fulfilled at having their days filled with tasks.

The past three days went by in the blink of an eye. Everyone followed the work schedule that Chandler had put up for them and successfully finished the first phase of the project.

Dylan had done a very good job as a supervisor and kept everyone entertained throughout the past three days. Everyone enjoyed his company very much.

After three days of hard work, Dylan wanted to give everyone a break. He arranged an outing to some of Herland's tourist attractions so they could soak in the local culture.

Therefore, Naomi got up early on the day of the outing to get ready for her doctor's appointment. By now, she had already recovered marvelously with Scott's help, but she still needed to see the doctor for her follow-up.

By the time Naomi finished getting ready, Scott had already returned from his daily morning run and took a quick shower before joining her for breakfast. The two of them had gotten so familiar with each other's daily routine that the morning went smoothly.

Although Scott had voluntarily taken up the role of her caretaker while her foot was injured, Naomi still felt indebted to him. He had put off his work and instead was forced to run around Herland with Chandler and the rest of Naomi's colleagues with her. She would always be grateful for that.

Therefore, once she recovered, she wanted to regain her independence as soon as possible and do something for him to show her gratitude. For example, she helped him fold his clean laundry and tidied his closet. Besides that, she would lay out clean clothes for him on the bathroom counter so

that Scott did not have to rummage through the closet after his run. That would save him tremendous time and energy.

It was no different from their lives back when they were married. Naomi always believed in returning favors. Since Scott was kind to her, she would take care of him in return.

By the time Scott returned, Naomi was already ready and waiting for him at the desk. He glanced at her doing her work silently at the desk and went to the bathroom for a shower. When he came out of the shower, he caught sight of the neatly folded clothes waiting for him on the countertop and put them on.

Naomi poured Scott a glass of warm water and placed it on the coffee table when he came out of the shower. Since one was not supposed to drink too much water immediately after strenuous exercise, drinking after a shower would be perfect.

That was what Naomi had been doing for him the past few days. After pouring the water, she returned to her work as though nothing had happened.

When Scott came out of the bathroom, he saw the glass of water waiting for him on the coffee table. As he went to take a sip, his gaze fell on Naomi. The sunlight seeping in through the windows landed on her, illuminating her beautiful silhouette.

All of a sudden, his phone rang.

Scott put down the glass and took out his phone.

It was Jay.

He picked up the call. "Hello?"

"Mr. Lawson, something urgent has come up with the Las Vegras project. I'm sorry, but we need you to come by for this."

Scott's gaze was still on Naomi. However, when his phone rang, Naomi turned to glance in his direction. Her gaze met his, and she could see her own silhouette reflected in his dark, penetrating eyes. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Naomi paused and gave him a once-over. He had already put on his suit, and his hair was slicked back immaculately. There was not a single hair out of place.

Naomi turned around and began clearing her desk to get ready to go for breakfast.

Scott watched her silently, then said to Jay, "Book me a plane ticket for tonight."
