Chapter 3
Chapter 3
Chapter 3 Emma was actually a graduate from a famous and widely recognized university. However, she was married to Trevor right after graduation, so she ended up turning into a housewife whose main job was to do chores. “Fine. I’ll see you at the Civil Affairs Bureau at 8.30AM tomorrow,” he responded with a cold smirk. Without a beat, she turned and left the room as she could not share the same bed with him after the fight they just had. Yet, a strong force dragged her back onto the bed the moment she tried to leave. Before she knew what was happening, the man’s large and firm figure pressed her back onto the bed. “Didn’t you just agree to have a divorce? What are you doing right now?” she cried as she tried to slip out of his grip. Trevor sank his teeth into her lips before he spoke, “We’ve yet to get a divorce… and you said that you practically sold yourself to me. So, of course I’ll have to make full use of you before you leave.” Emma could not help but gritted her teeth in anger. While he tossed and flipped her around in bed to satisfy his needs, all that Emma could think of was what he had said. He’s right. We might as well make full use of our last night. He’s tall, handsome and well-built. Not to mention, he is good in bed. I bet I’ll never be able to find a man as attractive as him after we separate, so I should enjoy our time together before that, right? With that thought, she reached her slim and fair arms out to wrap them around his neck. Both their warm bodies were pressed against one another and she even flipped him around to be on top of him at one point. In the past three years they spent together, she had never once felt such courage and passion in bed. She had always been shy, reserved and quiet both in person and in bed. So, her sudden actions made Trevor too stunned to move for a moment; his breath grew heavier than usual. Emma’s ears turned red when she heard his intimate panting beside her face. Before she knew what she was doing, she leaned in and gave him a kiss on the cheek. She no longer felt the need to dwell on the past after that. Throughout the night, both of them got along with one another in a way that they had never managed to achieve in the past. Perhaps it was because of Emma, who was much more passionate and initiating. The next morning, Trevor was no longer around by the time Emma woke up. She calmly cleaned herself up and had breakfast before driving to the Civil Affairs Bureau where they had agreed to meet at 8.30AM. However, he did not show up even after the
clock turned 9.00AM. She waited for yet another thirty minutes before she gave him a call. “I’m at the Civil Affairs Bureau now. How long are you going to take?” “I’m at Arlington City,” he replied flatly. “What?!” Emma was shocked at first, but anger took over after that. “Didn’t you say that we would get the divorce procedures done at 8.30AM today?” “There are some issues with one of my projects here, so I had to rush over early in the morning,” Trevor replied. “I’m going to end the call if you have nothing more to say,” he said flatly. The line then went dead moments after that. She felt an inexplicable sense of rage building in her chest as she clutched her phone. My existence barely matters to him. That’s why he can just decide not to show up for something as important as our divorce! She had to sit in the car for a long while before she finally managed to calm herself down. Twenty minutes later, she made her way over to her good friend, Susanna Clarke’s house. Susanna was one of the most famous female celebrities around and her face glowed with beauty the moment she opened the door for Emma. After hearing about Emma’s decision to get a divorce, Susanna gave her a huge hug. “Congratulations. You’re about to be released from all this suffering!” Emma felt rather speechless in the face of Susanna’s exaggerated descriptions. However, it was clear that she was not a fan of Emma’s marriage with Trevor. “I have told you about this a long time ago. You should leave him while you’re still young. That way, it’s easy to start everything from scratch in life,” Susanna continued. “I know tons of young and handsome men from my line of work, so I can introduce all of them to you anytime you want to!” she offered kindly. In response, Emma shook her head immediately. “No, no. I don’t want to date a celebrity. I don’t want to date in general,” she replied. Her tone seemed rather glum toward the end of her sentence. The past three years with Trevor had truly caused her a lot of pain. Susanna exclaimed in surprise after hearing what Emma said. “Girl, are you sure? It’d be a waste of resources if someone as talented and pretty as you doesn’t date anyone!” Emma mumbled to herself as she gazed at the red wine in her glass. “What’s so great about men? I’d rather focus on my business.” She wanted to prove that she could live a good life even without Trevor around…Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
