C5: The Alpha Wants To Meet You
“What’s wrong Derrick?” Merrick asked his twin brother, who was staring at the window of the maids quarter.
Alpha Derrick perceived a human scent from the lady he caught staring at him through the window in the maids quarter.
“Nothing.” Alpha Derrick simply replied in a cold tone, then the both of them walked inside the palace.
Dozens of maids formed a straight line and they bowed their heads as they greeted alpha Derrick and his twin brother.
Everything inside the palace was made of pure gold. The floors, the walls, even the building itself, they were made of pure gold.
Whitestone kingdom was one of the the richest kingdom. It was known for it’s utilization of modern day accessories and equipments.
The kingdom flourished and every citizen lived happily.
Even though the kingdom was mostly inhabited by werewolves, humans also came for a tour in the kingdom because of it’s beauty and popularity
Other kingdoms were nothing compared to Whitestone kingdom. For this reason, Alpha Derrick and his twin brother were highly respected by other rulers of other kingdoms.
Alpha Derrick walked straight to his chamber. He and Merrick had just arrived from a meeting with another kingdom.
Derrick undressed himself and stepped inside the bathroom, then he turned on the shower.
He closed his eyes and breathed out in relief as the cold water washed down his body.
“Hey Derrick!” A tiny voice said in Alpha Derrick’s head.
“What’s it Rufus?” Alpha Derrick asked, without moving his lips or saying a word.
Rufus was the name Alpha Derrick’s inner wolf.
NB: Inner wolf is just like the subconscious mind of a human. The difference is that an inner wolf has a mind of it’s own and can communicate freely.
“It’s been almost a century, Derrick, and we haven’t found our mate.” Rufus said, and alpha Derrick opened his eyes as the shower continued pouring on his naked body.
“How many times will I remind you that I don’t fucking need a mate!” Derrick growled.
“But I fucking need one! I need a mate Derrick! Don’t you get it? We are getting weak without a mate and we won’t be able to hold it much longer if it goes on like this!” Rufus fired back.
“I am strong with or without a goddamn mate.” Alpha Derrick countered.
“You still don’t get it, Derrick. We are incomplete without our mate.” Rufus said.
“Fuck off Rufus!” Alpha Derrick replied, shutting Rufus off his mind completely.
He let out a low growl as he switched off the shower, then he stared at his reflection in the bathroom mirror.
His reflection suddenly changed into a a black wolf.
“You need a mate, Derrick!” The wolf reflection said with it’s red eyes glowing dangerously.
“I said I don’t need a fucking mate!!” Alpha Derrick yelled and punched the mirror angrily, shattering it into a million pieces.
The broken parts of the glass injured his hand, but the wound healed up instantly like it was never there.
“Curse the moon goddess or whoever started this mate bullshit!” Alpha Derrick cursed as he stepped out of the bathroom into his bedroom, then he started dressing up.

[8M ~ THE MAIDS QUARTER]
The maids quarter was a big building beside the palace. It had more than hundred rooms, and each room was shared by three maids.
Ortega was still in the room where she woke up in the morning. She had already taken her bath in the morning, and now, she was putting on a new dress all thanks to Priscilla.
The door opened and Priscilla walked in. She walked towards Ortega with a maid’s uniform in her hands.
“Hey Ortega!” Priscilla smiled as she sat down beside Ortega.
“Welcome Priscilla.” Ortega replied, staring at the uniform in Priscilla’s hand.
“I told Malik about you this afternoon and he said you can start working as a maid in the palace tomorrow morning.” Priscilla said, and Ortega’s eyes went wide with surprise.
“Really?” She asked, a note of surprise in her voice.
“Yeah, and why do you sound surprised?” Priscilla asked back, and Ortega chuckled lightly before saying,
“I thought I wouldn’t be allowed to work as a maid in the palace because I’m a human.”
“Like I said in the morning, Ortega, we don’t discriminate in the kingdom. Humans are always welcome to live in this kingdom with werewolves.” Priscilla said.
“Thanks Priscilla. I owe you a lot.” Ortega said with a smile.
“No, Ortega, you don’t owe me anything.” Priscilla replied, shaking her head. “And besides, that’s what friends are for. Helping each other in times of need.” She added, handing over the maid’s uniform to Ortega.
“Wait here, let me go get our meals.” Priscilla said, and she rose to her feet, then she walked out of the room.
Ortega stood up from the bed immediately the door closed and she walked to the window.
She rested on the window frame, gazing out the window with a smile plastered on her face.
She gazed at the dark sky which was studded with bright stars, and the moon also shine up ahead.
Ortega was glad that she met someone who didn’t criticize her for being a human. Priscilla was the first person who praised her for being who she was.
Ortega had always being criticized for being a human since childhood back when she was still in her former kingdom.
She was always bullied and mocked, especially by her stepsister and her stepmother. They always rained curses on her day and night, and she was also treated like a slave.
Ortega’s father was also not left out. He would always blame Ortega for the death of her mother because her mother died after giving birth to her.
Tears streamed out of her eyes as she recalled the hurtful moments she had in Brimstone kingdom.
The tears weren’t tears of sadness but the tears of joy.
She was happy that she was no longer in the kingdom where her kind wasn’t accepted. She was happy that she found someone who was now in a Kingdom where humans like her were gladly accepted.
Ortega took her gaze off the sky and she glanced around the palace compound.
The compound was wide beyond description. There were several other big buildings in the compound.
There were dozens of tough looking werewolf guards positioned at every corner of the palace.
Unlike the guards in Brimstone kingdom, these guards were putting on dark suits and dark shades.
They were really huge and made up of muscles and armour. If you think of the size and structure of a gorilla, you’d get a picture of how they really looked.
The guards were six feet taller than an average man. Humans would feel like ants in front of them.
As Ortega continued glancing around the compound through the window, she saw three black cars driving into the compound.
Ortega watched at the three cars pulled up in the car shed. Different men in dark suits and dark shades rushed out of the cars and one of them opened the backseat door of the third car.
A masculine figure stepped out of the car, and thanks to the fluorescent lights in the large compound, she was able to see the person’s face clearly.
The person was alpha Derrick and he was dressed in a black tailored suit and a pair of black shoes which matched perfectly with his black curly hair.
He looked so hot and breathtaking in his outfit and Ortega couldn’t help but to stare at him admiringly.
“How can someone be as perfect as this?” She muttered as she continued staring at him.
She was lost staring at him that she didn’t know when he looked up at her direction and he saw her.
Her eyes went wide when she realized that he was also staring at her. She remained frozen on her spot without taking her gaze off him.
He took his gaze off her and he signalled at one of the guard who immediately walked to meet him.
Ortega watched as alpha Derrick talked with the guard, and cold fear gripped her when he pointed at her window.Content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
She immediately moved away from the window and she sat on the bed, wondering why he pointed at her window.
‘What was he telling the guard? Why did he point at the window?, Did he perhaps tell the guard to come and throw me out of the Kingdom because I’m human?’
Thoughts like these crashed upon each other in Ortega’s mind, making her nervous and worried.
A knock on the door snapped Ortega out of her thoughts, and her heart started beating fast as she gazed at the door, thinking it was a guard knocking.
‘Is the guard already here to take me?’ She thought to herself with her gaze fixed on the door.
“Ortega are you in?” She heard a feminine voice outside the room, and she sighed in relief when she recognized the person’s voice as Priscilla’s.
“I’m coming.” She replied, and she stood up from the bed. She walked to the door and opened it.
She stepped aside and Priscilla walked inside the room with a large tray which contained three covered plates of food and three bottled water.
“Were you in the bathroom when I first knocked?” Priscilla asked as she placed the tray of food on a table.
“Yeah, I was in the bathroom.” Ortega lied, shutting the door quietly.
“Come and have a seat.” Priscilla gestured at a couch in the room.
Ortega smiled and she began walking towards the couch. But as she took the sixth step, a knock came on the door which made her freeze on her spot.
“Please check who’s there, Ortega.” Priscilla said, and Ortega turned around. She walked to the door and she opened it, revealing a guard.
Ortega swallowed nothing when she recognized the guard’s face. He was the same gurad alpha Derrick was talking to when he pointed at her window.
“Go… good evening, sir.” She greeted with a nervous smile, looking up at the hefty guard who had a cold expression on his face.
The guard was about to speak when Priscilla spoke from behind Ortega.
“Good evening, Ramos. Why are you here?”
“The alpha wants to see her.” The guard whose name was Ramos pointed his chin at Ortega.
“Me? The alpha wants to see me?” Ortega asked, touching her chest to confirm whether the guard was referring to her or Priscilla.
“Yes, he said you should meet him in his chamber within a minute.” The guard replied, and fear gripped Ortega immediately.
