Chapter 39 Murder
Derrick
“I miss mom”I said, staring outside the bars in the only window in the room we were throw into. Dani and Damien weren’t talking to me anymore so I didn’t expect a response from them.
My stomach started to hurt, and I groaned loudly because I needed to use the toilet but I can only go in the evening.
“Shut up Derrick, you’re not the only one who’s hungry.”Dani said but I ignored her.
I banged on the door with all my might, angering her even more.
“Will you stop acting like a baby already? None of us have had any food all day!”
“Oh shut up Dani!”I yelled at her, surprising her and Damien because I’ve never raised my voice at either of them before.
“I told you the food they served yesterday tasted like something I was allergic to was inside it, now I feel so much pain in my stomach I actually feel like my intestines are knotting in there and you’re talking rubbish about me being a baby who’s just hungry for food? Like how many times have I given your my ration of food whenever you asked for it?”
She said nothing, “I didn’t think you’d have anything to say and I was right. I’ve always given you my food, I eat the least so don’t you dare go off about me being hungry else I dump all the poop I’m currently holding in here for you all to see and perceive!”
She stepped backward and stared at Damien.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that-”
“– come join me in banging this door so I can get out of here!”I yelled and they immediately got to work. Just some seconds in the door opened. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I need to use the bathroom, please!”I begged and the man who kept us in our prison rather than a room, sighed and let me pass.
I rushed straight to the toilet, crying because of how badly my stomach hurt.
“Hey kid! Get out already, do you want to-”
He shut the door quickly and exhaled deeply.
“What the hell did you eat?!”he asked.
“Its an allergy. I might be here for a while.”
“Well I’m not going to get murdered by your shit!”he said and I heard the door slam shut.
Suddenly a plan formed in my head, what if u tried to escape?
I wouldn’t be doing any escaping if I’m still battling with my stomach pain. When I was done, I came out of the toilet and my heart leaped for joy when I saw that the guy was asleep. I stole his phone and went in search of grandpa Duke, he’ll know what to do, he’s the good guy.
When I got to his room, he was asleep. I shook him vigorously but he wouldn’t wake up.
“I don’t care!”I heard grandma Emelia yell from outside the door and I ran and hid behind the curtain in his room.
“You weren’t supposed to get caught! You showed her your face now she knows you’re the one who raped her. Go fix your problem yourself!”she said and entered the room. It seems like she was on the phone with someone but who?
“I don’t care Klyde. You’re on your own.”Grandma said and then she threw her phone on the bed beside grandpa.
She pulled his skin and he sprang up from sleep, glaring at her.
“What is it this time?”he asked, rubbing the affected area.
“Your will, it says that everything goes to me should yur two sons be incapable of taking over the company. Am I right?”she asked.
“Yes…but that was the old will.”
Her countenance looked so scary as she stared at him. “What does your new will say now?”
“It says that Kade will own everything after my death. Face it Emelia, you’ll never get the company. Stop trying so hard.”
“That’s alright now Duke. All I want to know is…why Kade?”
“Because there is literally no one else who deserves itm all I’ve done to that boy was try to force him to live my dream and in the process I’ve wronged him then most. Look, I know what you did to his wife but I warn you, let that never repeat itself again.”He said.
“I’m sick of this…”she said after a while of silence. Then she grabbed a pillow and suffocated grandpa with it! I fumbled with the phone in my hand and started to record it for proof.
She soon released him and I noticed he was no longer breathing. She killed him.
“Bentley!”she called as a scowl formed on her face while looking over grandpa’s dead body with no sympathy at all.
“Where is his old will?”she asked when the chubby short man came inside the office.
“I can’t disclose that to you, Mr Harold’s new will is private.”
“Mr Harold is Dead now. If I were you I’d do the right thing which is to get rid of the new will and implement the old one right now”
“And why would I do that?”
“Because if you don’t, I’ll inform the world about the real reason your wife left you.”
He gulped, I bet whatever the reason was must’ve been so terrible because I could see the terror in his eyes. as he stared at Grandma.
“You don’t know anything about me and my wife.”He defended and she laughed.
“Well I guess ten year old Sophia knows everything since you always –”
“- okay stop! What do you want?”
“I already told you what I want. Implement the old will that leaves everything to me and destroy the other one. If you do that I’ll make sure no one ever knows about your pedophile activities.”
The man abuses children?!
He sighed and nodded his head before leaving the room
“How the mighty Harold has fallen by the hand of a pillow. Fucking piece of shit!”She said and then started to wail when she left the room, crying about grandpa being no more.
The maids of the house rushed in and tended to him while I hid, making sure that I don’t move a muscle because if I do my life would be in danger.
When everyone left, a maid came in complaining about how grandma would order her to sell grandpa’s clothes and how vile and wicked it was. She bowed her head at his dead body and said her apologies before she went to his wardrobe and then she stacked his luggage and clothes in the clothes trolley.
I saw my chance to escape, so I took it but I couldn’t leave my brother and sister behind. Whoever this old lady was, she had a good heart. I prayed that my perception about this woman was right because I will need her to sneak me and my siblings out of this place through the trolley.
My heart raced faster than how it had been racing since I watched Grandma kill her husband. I stepped outside of the trolley and took a deep breath as I approached her for help.
