No Strings Attached

Chapter 572

Katherine went abroad to take care of her father and moved into a villa nestled in the hills. Everything she needed, from food to clothing, was delivered by Connor.

At first, she didn't think much of it. But later, she sensed something was off. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

The place was swarming with bodyguards, and wherever she went, they followed. Moreover, her phone was restricted from accessing domestic websites. She couldn't receive any news from there. Nor could she contact anyone from back home. Even calls from Brodie became scarce.

Eventually, she realized what was happening.

Teo's suspicions were right. Her older brother, Connor, was indeed up to something.

Katherine had no clue what was happening back home. She was desperate to know how lan's company was doing. She was dying to find out if Clara had given birth and why she hadn't been in touch.

At noon, she secretly added some sleeping pills to the bodyguard's meal. Taking advantage of the moment he fell asleep, she stealthily used his phone to go online.

The news she saw online brought her to tears. Clara had lost her baby, lan had been ousted, and Brodie had become the CEO of their corporation.

At this point, Katherine had a pretty good idea of what had happened. Ian and Brodie must have staged a play. She couldn't believe that they would turn against each other. When she saw all this, Katherine's heart ached unbearably. She felt sorry for lan, sorry for Clara. She couldn't imagine how they had been coping these past days.

The thought that these two loving people had been separated was agonizing. And to think all of this was caused by Connor, Katherine's resentment towards him grew stronger.

Now, everything hinged on her regaining her memory. If only she could remember, the truth would come out.

After much deliberation, Katherine decided to return the phone to the bodyguard and went upstairs alone.

The only way to regain her memory was to retive the past. Although it was risky, she no longer had the luxury of hesitation. Clara and Man had paid too much for this, so as their elder, she could not stand by idly.

A few days later, Connor was in a meeting when he suddenly received a call from the villa in the hills. "Mr. Connor, the cook burned the pot while, cooking, causing a huge fire. The entire villa is ablaze."

Connor's expression immediately turned cold. "What about Katherine?"

"She was sleeping on the second floor. We've rescued her, but her condition isn't good."

"What do you mean 'isn't good"?"

"She, she seems to have lost her mind."

When he heared this, Connor's hands clenched tightly around the arms of his wheelchair, and his veins bulged. He ordered sternly, "Keep her safe. If anything happens to her, none of you will live to see another day!"

After saying that, he hung up the phone, and instructed his assistant to head to the villa in the hills immediately.

By the time he arrived, the fire had been extinguished. The yard was filled with firefighters and family bodyguards, and there was Katherine, who was crying and making a scene. Katherine, always so conscious of her appearance, was now disheveled and dirty. Her clothes were burnt and her body was covered in soot. Her face was smeared with grime. She sat on the ground, seemingly out of her senses, hitting the bodyguard in front of her. This scene was all too reminiscent of her past episodes.

When Connor saw this, a chill filled his eyes. He wheeled himself over to Katherine. His voice struggled to be gentle. "Katherine, it's me, your brother."

When she heared his voice, Katherine's condition didn't improve; instead, she became even more agitated.

She screamed, "Get away. Don't touch me, you monsters. Give me back my son. Give me back my husband."
