Mystey Chapter 117
"I really wanted to have a serious chat with you, how about that! Now that you know I'm Angel, I bet you're scared. I would love to tum on the video to see your expression, but alas.. I despise seeing your over-made-up face!" Madelyn's heart skipped a beat, ignoring Selina's mockery. She frantically made eye signals to Christina.
"You're with Christina, right? You two losers are really birds of a feather, both love your heavy makeup and that nauseating perfume, and both love stirring up trouble. True sisters indeed. Everjoy Entertainment, right? You used that marketing firm to buy your trending tweets, didn't you?
Christina didn't think she'd dug that deep. She shot Madelyn an angry glare. She thought, This idiotic cousin! She had assured her that the marketing they'd done was flawless, that there was no way they could be caught! Now, thanks to Madelyn, I'm truly doomed! Christina could only keep quiet, racking her brain for a way to disentangle herself from Madelyn's mess. Madelyn's voice trembled, "Selina... you... did Trevon figure this out?"
"Idiot" Christina couldn't contain herself and let out an insult. With that slip-up, Madelyn had given herself away completely. Maybe Selina was just sniffing around and didn't have concrete evidence. She was just testing the waters, but now it was all over! Realizing her mistake. Madelyn was about to speak when Selina's light chuckle came from the phone, "Don't panic. Christina. If I dared to call you, it means I've got solid evidence. You two are fools to think you could fool everyone like this. I'm underestimated, didn't I?" At this point, Madelyn had no choice but to face the music, barking into the phone, "What do you want, Selina?"
"I didn't bother with your little antics before, just treated it like a clown show. But this time, you two went too far. For my husband's sake. I won't make you disappear or put you behind bars, but you two better get out of Sokovis and never come back! I don't want to see your faces here ever again!"
"Leave Sokovis? Are you kidding me?" They thought, We are the golden daughters of the Hudson family; how could we let Selina dictate like this? She has no right! She doesn't deserve!
"Not leaving? Fine. I'll tell my husband everything, and you should know what he'll do to you."
"Selina, even if we were wrong first, Trevon's our cousin. The Hudson family supports him no matter what. You won't shake his support for us, to punish his two cousins... Madelyn didn't finish her sentence before Selina hung up the phone.
"Im so pissed off" Madelyn threw her phone to the ground with force. Christina collapsed into a chair, her face ghastly pale. It was too late to clear their names now. What to do? How could they fix this mess? Before Christina could think of a solution, another call came through. It was from Trevon.
As soon as Madelyn saw his name on her phone's screen, she felt like she was holding a hot potato, trembling as she tossed the phone to Christina. "Christina..you...you take it!!
Christina immediately threw the phone back. "Are you out of your mind? Trevon's calling for you; you should be the one to
answer!"
"I took the call from Selina just now; now it's your turn!"Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
"I'd rather deal with Selina than face cousin Trevon, Madelyn! We're done for! Do you understand? It's all because of you!" Close to a breakdown, Christina grabbed her hair, sobbing as if the sky was falling down, a stark contrast to the earlier champagne celebration with Madelyn. Crossing Selina was tantamount to crossing Trevon, and being exiled from Sokovis would make Christina's failures known to all her colleagues, destroying her career!
Madelyn was trembling with fear. "What do you mean this is my fault... you agreed to do it, too! We're in the same boat here,
@
what's the point of this infighting now?"
Finally, the ringing stopped.
Madelyn breathed a sigh of relief as though she had dodged a bullet. But then, a text message tone signaled more trouble
Since you're not planning to settle this properly, I'll have a talk with the Hudson family.]
If her family learned of this, Madelyn would be in deep trouble. She swiftly rang Trevon back.
"Trevon. I know I messed up; I was just... confused... I... I was only trying to protect you from Selina's deception, I beg you to forgive me... it won't happen again!"
Trevon replied coldly: "First, just like I told my wife, you and Christina pack up and leave Sokovis. Second, if I have to take action, don't blame me for not showing family mercy. The Hudsons will disown you."
"Trevon, do you really have to be so ruthless? We are family, and what is Selina? Just a trophy wife! You don't even love her, are we really going to sever ties over her?"
Madelyn couldn't take it anymore and shouted frantically. Christina tried to cover her mouth but was too late and could only apologize. "Im sorry, Trevon, Madelyn's not thinking straight, talking nonsense; please don't take it to heart..."
But before Christina could finish, Trevon hung up.
Christina flew into a rage, grabbing Madelyn's hair and pounding her in a frenzy. "Madelyn, are you trying to get us kicked out, to die in the streets? I'm done with you! Done!"
Like I need you! I don't need you!"
The fight turned ferocious, as if to let out all their inner fears and resentment. In the end, they both ended up in the hospital
Selina was in her dressing room, meticulously doing her nails, while chatting on video with Lydia. "Selina," Lydia exclaimed. "I didn't expect you to reveal yourself like that, so bold and such a slap in the face to those losers who wanted to bring you down. Now, I'm dying to see the look on the Harvey family's faces, especially ManuellTM
Lydia vividly remembered when, at the Seaside Bar, Selina confessed she was Angel and the snapshot she took of Manuel's stunned face. It was such a shame she couldn't be there in person to witness Manuel's face once Selina's identity was confirmed. What a sight that would have been!
"Lydia, stick with me, and there will be tons of drama to feast on The high society's constant backstabbing and scheming will give us plenty to gossip about. How about you move to Sokovis and keep me company?" Selina proposed playfully.
"Don't worry, I'm putting all my focus on The Rose, for the time being. Once I get bored, I'll switch things up. For now, it's all on you to feed me my daily dose of juicy stories, babe, Lydia replied, her tone teasing and full of camaraderie.
Just then, Devin knocked on the door. "Mrs. Brady, Lauren would like a word with you."
