Mystery Bride's Revenge (Selina)

Chapter 153

Sara's words snapped Quinton back to reality. He clenched his jaw, resisting the urge to respond, and turned to leave with Lloyd and the rest of the group.

"Don't forget to prepare your retirement speech for the press conference and give your fans a proper thank you," Selina couldn't resist adding a sarcastic jab. The thought of how useless the Harvey family had become only fueled her satisfaction. If Lloyd dared to back out of his promise, she, had the entire race recorded and was ready to use it to humiliate him further.

"Selina, do you have to be so harsh? Lloyd is your biological brother, after all." Sara's heart skipped a beat. The casual cruelty in Selina's tone shocked her. She thought, 'How can Selina speak such cold, cutting words?'

"That loser? That worthless piece of trash? And he thinks he's worthy? Spare me the family ties nonsense; it's pathetic!" Selina's voice dripped with disdain. If they thought she was cruel, she would show them what cruelty really looked like.

Lloyd, clearly provoked, shouted, "Don't worry, Selina. I'll keep my promise!" His voice was low and angry before he stormed out.

"Lloyd!" Quinton and the others worried that Lloyd might have a complete breakdown, and they didn't confront Selina any further. They quickly chased after him.

Charley sauntered over, clearing his throat before speaking. "That was quite the show. Why do I get the feeling something's off with the Harvey family?"Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

"They've always been crazy. Thank goodness Selina wasn't raised by them who knows how she would've turned out? The Selina we have now is perfect," Lydia said as she stroked Selina's smooth, beautiful face. Just the thought of Selina growing up in the Harvey residence and possibly turning out like Ashley - with her cloyingly sweet facade and fake innocence - made Lydia shudder. She hugged Selina even tighter.

If Selina had turned out differently, Lydia swore she would have stormed the Harvey residence with a chainsaw, and if that made her the next headline-grabbing maniac, so be it anything to get Selina back.

Seeing Lydia cling to Selina so fiercely, Trevon felt a pang of jealousy. He subtly pulled Selina's hand, yanking her out of Lydia's embrace and into his own. "Honey, congratulations on winning the championship and beating Lloyd. To celebrate your victory and the revelation of your identity, I'll make sure to give you a special reward tonight."

Selina's eyes lit up. "I want you to reward me with 15 chocolate cupcakes."

Lydia watched the couple flaunt their affection and felt a surge of frustration. She had mentally prepared herself for the possibility that Selina and Trevon's contractual marriage might turn into something real, and she hadn't planned to interfere - Selina was an adult, after all. As long as Trevon was worthy of her, Lydia would give them her best wishes.

But now, she just wanted to kill Trevon. 'Where exactly is Trevon's hand going on Selina? And Selina, don't fall for him so quickly!" she thought.

Charley suddenly remembered and exclaimed, "Oh, I almost forgot that Selina is 'Flying Shadow, the legendary racing champion. I've watched videos of the two world championships you participated in - I'm a fan! Can I get your autograph?" Selina grinned. "No problem at all."

Meanwhile, outside, Quinton and the others searched frantically for Lloyd, but he was nowhere to be found. Ashley was in tears. "Dad, Mom, Manuel, this is bad! What if Lloyd does something irreversible? He looked so devastated after losing to Selina, and I'm really worried about him."

"Dad, Mom, Ashley, you all go back to the Harvey residence. I'll go look for Lloyd; he probably hasn't gone far," Manuel suggested.

Quinton shook his head, letting out a heavy sigh. "Forget it, Manuel, don't bother. Let Lloyd cool off first. No one can talk sense into him right now; he needs to work through this on his own."

"But I'm worried about Lloyd..." Manuel remarked.

Quinton said, "He's your b

my son. We know his temper well by now. He's had at

life of smooth sailing, and now Selina has come along and overshadowed his achievements. It's only natural that Lloyd can't accept it right away. If we go looking for him now to comfort him, it might just make things worse."

Manuel lowered his gaze, clenched his fists, and bit his lip in frustration. Sara stepped forward and gently patted his back. "Manuel, your dad is right. Lloyd just needs some time to process this. He'll come around. Don't worry."

"Mom... I understand. I won't bother Lloyd," Manuel finally conceded. He had been in at similar situation himself and knew that any attempt to comfort Lloyd right now might only backfire. Lloyd would have to come to terms with this on his own. Ashley looked thoughtful and said, "Dad, Mom, Manuel, how did Selina do it? I just

don't get it. First, she became Trevon's wife, then she's 'Angel, and now she's 'Flying Shadow"

"This whole mess is because of Selina. That brat! When we found her, she claimed she didn't even finish middle school and grew up in the countryside, but she was hiding so much. I'm really scared she came back to the Harvey residence with some sinister agenda..." Quinton remarked.

"Enough! Dad, you need to stop thinking that way about Selina." Manuel's voice, suddenly loud and forceful, cut through the air, shocking Quinton and the others..

"This has nothing to do with whether Selina reveals her true identity or not. She is the daughter of the Harvey family. She's your and Mom's biological daughter, the one you lost for 21 years, and she's my little sister. Isn't that fact alone enough? The way we've treated Selina has been wrong from the start, Manuel added.

Manuel felt a tightness in his chest as the truth of their treatment of Selina weighed on him. When she first returned, she faced nothing but suspicion and unfairness from them. He'd thought they were being kind to her, but now, seeing things from her perspective, he realized how wrong they had been. Maybe Selina would have been happier if the Harvey family had never found her like she seemed to be now.

Quinton and Sara looked at each other in disbelief. They had never imagined that Manuel would speak to them like this, let alone raise his voice. He had never lost control like this before.

"Manuel, you're scaring me..." Ashley's voice quivered as she clung to Manuel's arm. He snapped back to reality, realizing how out of control he had become.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. I might have been in a bad mood just now, but please listen to what I said. From the very beginning, except for Ashley, no one in this family has stood by Selina. So, what was the point of bringing her back? Maybe it would've been better if we hadn't found her at all it might have been the best thing for her," Manuel said.
