Chapter 125 Escape from J City
Lexie moved straight back in with her grandma, and she didn’t have much luggage.
“Lexie, why did you suddenly move back? What’s wrong?”
As soon as grandma saw her return with a big bag, she realized something was wrong.
Lexie, however, did not say a word, standing in the bathroom washing her hands, soaping them over and over again, not knowing what to wash off.
“Lexie, are you trying to rush me to death?”
“You keep that up, I’m calling Dr. Stewart.”
Lexie suddenly snapped back to her senses and pulled her grandmother back.
[Grandma, let’s move and leave J City].
The grandmother was stunned, a look of dismay.
The following day.
After Patrick helped put the suitcase in the trunk, he clapped his hands, “Lexie, you and Grandma remember to call me when you get to your new place and tell me an address, I’ll come see you when I can.”
Lexie reluctantly pulled at the corners of her mouth and pointed to Patrick’s blonde fried hair.
[Students have to look like students, dyeing your hair back to black will suit you better].
Patrick scratched his hair, “I remember.”
The car drove slowly away from the neighborhood.
Rushing to the rear of the car, Patrick waved and shouted as he chased, “Sis! You must call me, I’ll definitely dye my hair back next time I see you!”
The car soon disappeared in front of the neighborhood.
Patrick hung his head and walked back to his grandmother’s place and there were still some things that Lexie had given him.
I just walked to the door of the unit building and didn’t notice that I bumped into someone.
“Hey!”
The girl’s shrill cry was a little shrill, and Patrick frowned unpleasantly.
Turning back, I saw a girl on crutches, jumping backwards and forwards.
It turned out to be a cripple.
The girl glared at him, “You don’t walk with eyes?”
Patrick’s heart was already harboring fire, heard the words more angry, no good, said, “Who does not look, you can talk?”
“What’s wrong with you people? You look like a bad person, are you from this neighborhood? You’re not a thief, are you?”
Lydia suddenly realized something and immediately felt towards her pocket, “Where’s my phone?”
“Steal something?” Patrick’s face turned green with anger, “You’re here to touch the porcelain, aren’t you?”
“Wait, if I can’t find it then you stole it, it was just there! Don’t you run!”
Lydia fumbled around for a while and suddenly felt it in her pants pocket.
When he saw her face change, Patrick snorted, “What? Don’t you want to call the police? Do you want me to lend you a phone if you don’t have one?”
Lydia had an embarrassed look on her face.
Patrick gave her a blank look and turned his head to go upstairs.
Today is a day of bad luck!
When he got upstairs, Patrick took out the key to open the door and was just about to close it when he was suddenly stopped by an arm, “Hey! You wait!”
Seeing the same girl just now, Patrick was furious, “Are you finished? You’re still following me to my house?”
“Your home? Is this your house?”
“Not my house is it your house?”
Lydia froze and muttered, “I misremembered, didn’t Jack say Lexie and her grandma lived in 201?”
Patrick was about to close the door when he heard this and stopped, “You’re looking for Lexie?”
“You know?” Lydia’s eyes lit up.
Patrick eyed her warily, “Who are you Lexie?”
“Me?” Lydia deliberated for a moment, “I’m sort of her sister-in-law!”Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
“Alan’s sister?” Patrick blurted out.
“You know what?”
Patrick’s face immediately sank, “Get out of here right now! Get as far away as you can!”
With a ‘bang’, he closed the door directly.
When he helped Lexie pack up her things, she saw the divorce papers with blood on them. With the news of domestic violence so fresh in her mind and Alan’s poor reputation outside, it’s not hard to imagine what Lexie is going through.
The sound of clanging doors came from outside.
“Are you done with this?”
Patrick pulled open the door with a look of impatience.
Lydia almost slammed her fist into his face, “I said, “Why are you turning your back on me? I’m here to find Lexie, not you!” Where’s Lexie?
“She’s not in.”
“No way, she just moved back yesterday!”
Lydia learned wisely this time, the cane dead against the door frame, Patrick could not close the door.
She jumped to her feet and entered the room, shouting, “Lexie, Lexie, I know you’re home!”
“Stop shouting! Were you a duck in your last life?”
Patrick’s head hurt from all the noise, and he yelled out a rebuke, “Can’t you see for yourself that Lexie has moved out?”
“Moved out?”
Lydia jumped to her feet and went inside, things were packed neatly on the floor, not like the normal occupant’s appearance.
“Where did it move to?”
“How should I know, Lexie left in a hurry, didn’t say anything to me, drove off by herself and was leaving J City anyway.”
“What?”
Lydia blushed, “How can she drive herself when she’s pregnant?”
“Pregnant?” Patrick’s face changed as well.
“When did it go? In which direction?”
Patrick was confused, “Just now.”
Lydia immediately took out her cell phone and dialed the number.
Patrick originally wanted to mock about the phone, but shut up when he saw Lydia’s face.
“Alan! Lexie moved out!”
On the other end of the line was the Howard Group’s quarterly wrap-up meeting.
Alan held the phone, his large hand slowly tightened, the back of his hand bruised.
She actually just walked away.
Who gave her the guts?
As night falls, the highway is lit up with street lights.
Lexie parked her car in the service area.
[Grandma, I’m going to get something, you wait for me in the car].
Grandma yawned and nodded, “Good.”
“Lexie, how much longer do we have to get to the place? You don’t say where you’re going either.”
[It’s coming, it’ll be here soon].
People are older and most easily tired of traveling, Lexie is also afraid that grandma’s body can not stand, so this journey are rushed, do not dare to waste more time, want to get off the highway early to find a place to rest.
She didn’t know where she was going and didn’t dare tell anyone, afraid that Alan would come after her for this child, and even more afraid that other people would have bad intentions and want to cut off the grass.
Without the blessing of Mrs. Howard’s identity, she would not be able to stand in J City, and there are many people who want the life of the child in her belly.
She shuddered at the thought of what Edith had said that day.
“Welcome.”
“The total is 103.”
Lexie came out of the convenience store with the things she bought.
“Miss, you didn’t get your cookies!”
Behind her suddenly came the voice of the convenience store girl calling her.
Lexie froze, and as soon as she turned around, she was suddenly blindfolded from behind by a black cloth, and the next second, her eyes were pitch black.
“Well–”
‘Pop’, just purchased a large bag of things all fell to the ground, cookies, milk and some chocolate scattered everywhere.
Lexie struggled desperately, trying to call for help, but only a small hoarse sound came out of her throat.
A wave of pain hit the back of her head, and she passed out with stars in her eyes.
