My Fiance Ran Away On Our Wedding Day

Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Anika was stunned when she heard what Zac said.

She came back to her senses and pulled Zac to the study room.

As she closed the door, she raised her eyes to meet his gaze.

She took a deep breath and said softly, "Can you not be angry at what I said to you?"

She could not guess his attitude towards Callum.

However, when she went to see him in the afternoon, the Burks family's nanny treated him as a burden and packed her belongings before departing.

It seemed impossible for Anika to leave a six-year-old child alone in the apartment.

Zac pursed his thin lips and lifted his brows slightly as he noticed her reaction.

"Why is he still so guilty? Could that child really have something to do with you?" He said.

As far as he knew, there were no such big children among the relatives of the Meyer family.

On his mother's side, there was only an uncle who had become a diplomat and was not in the country.

"No."

Anika shook her head and sighed, "He has nothing to do with me, but he has something to do with you.’

When Zac heard this, he grinned and dragged his aggressive tone, "Is it related to me? "Then you can send him back."

‘It's even more difficult for me to have any illegitimate children"

Anika remembered what Georgia had often hinted at, and her eyebrows twitched slightly, "Oh? Why are you so sure?"

"Do you still need a reason for this?"

He raised his eyebrows.

After glimpsing her strange gaze, he frowned and said, "Anika, why are you looking at me like that?"

Discarding the doubt in her heart, Anika sighed and explained, "You're overthinking it.That child is Callum. He is ...the son of your father.’ Georgia was only a few months pregnant when Grayson got divorced.

Zac knew about Callum’s existence, but he had never seen him before.

"Aunt Sheena wants to adopt him.” She asked me to pick him up and send him abroad after completing the formalities.

"I originally wanted to send him to the apartment. But the nanny from the Burks family doesn't like him, and I can't find a ready-made nanny"

"So we can only ..."

He brought her home.

After she explained everything, she tugged his sleeve and whispered, "Callum will only stay for two days.It was my fault for not discussing with you in advance.Don't be angry, okay?"

Zac caught a glimpse of her beautiful fingertips on his sleeves.

He took advantage of the moment and gently diverted his attention away.

"Am I that easy to be mad?"

"Yes, you have a ‘good’ temper.’’ Anika said sarcastically and couldn't help but giggle when she saw the man's slightly lifted chin.

She then suggested instead, "Then, let him stay at home for a few days?"

He paused, looked down at her and nodded.

However, after staying for two days, he didn't need to be so cautious.

Still he acted like he was facing a great enemy.

After the matter was settled, Anika felt relieved.

They proceeded downstairs after opening the door.

She had cooked dinner ahead of time in the kitchen.

When the food was served, Callum carefully looked at Zac.

He silently climbed onto a tall chair and sat on Anika's left side.

Anika picked up a few pieces of meat and gave it to him.

Callum ate with relish, so there was no need for others to bother.

At the dining table, the atmosphere was quiet.

After a while, Zac glanced at what Callum had quietly spat out and said with a frown, "Who taught you to be picky about food?"

His tone was cold which is why Callum’s body shrank slightly.

He lowered his head and stuttered, "I ..don't eat ginger."

Anika turned her head to look at him.

He did, in fact, spit out the ginger from the tomato beef belly.

Zac wasn't picky about food, but he also didn't like to eat ginger.

But when cooking, she always used some seasonings to get rid of the fishy flavor.

So she would cut the ginger into large chunks so that he could easily see it.

Because Callum was unaware, he mistook the large chunk of ginger for a potato in the tomato beef belly.

Therefore, Callum ate it again and then spat it out.

When Zac noticed Anika's displeased look, he snorted but said nothing else.

After finishing his meal, he put away the plates as usual and took the bowl in front of Anika.

Seeing this, Callum carefully handed over his bowl.

However, Zac just dropped his gaze to look at the bowl and did not pick it up.

After a while, he raised his eyebrows and said casually, "Child, food is not for free.Go to the kitchen to wash the dishes."

Callum compressed his mouth and hugged his bowl as he followed Zac into the kitchen.

Anika paused slightly, shook her head, and followed them into the kitchen.

After all, he was a six-year-old child.

He had some difficulty cleaning the dishes since the sink in the kitchen was a bit high.

Unfortunately, Zac was still standing at the side, staring at him quietly.

His gaze was scaring him.

Anika sighed and comforted him, "Alright, don't scare him anymore."

He didn't say anything, but he indifferently withdrew his gaze from Callum.

Callum carefully finished washing the bowls.

He glanced at Zac with dark eyes full of concern and handed him the bowls.

He retracted his hand in horror as Zac nonchalantly rolled his eyes and stared at him.

Zac sneered, "I'm not sure who to trust with my little courage."

He got the bowls and put them in the cupboard.

After washing the dishes, Calllum lowered his head to look at his sleeves stained with water.

He rubbed his fingers and looked at Anika, "Sister, I want to take a bath."

Zac leaned against the door a few steps away.

His hands folded across his arms, and uttered rudely, "So grown-up, you don't know how to take a bath?"

Callum bit his lips and shook his head slightly.

He pursed his lips and frowned, "Do you know the difference between men and women? Do you still dare to let her bathe you?"

After saying that, under Anika's helpless gaze, she held Callum into the bedroom with tears in his eyes.

The door to the master bedroom didn't seem to be closed. Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

As a result, Anika eventually heard Callum’s cry from upstairs, as well as Zac's anxious voice.

"Little brat, if you cry again, I'll throw you out now,'' Callum whispered, "But my eyes are burning."

Anika was speechless.

Suddenly, she was worried that Zac would be able to do it.

But she couldn't go in, so she had to wait outside the door.

When they came out, Callum was badly wrapped in a towel and put into the children's room on the other side of the master bedroom.

Anika couldn't help but laugh when she saw his sad face.

Zac raised his eyebrows and rubbed his index finger against her cheek.

"Anika, what are you laughing about? For whom am I doing this?"

Anika was shocked for a minute, and her hands brushed over her wet cheeks unconsciously.

They seemed to be already in love for some reason.

She took a glance at his damp shirt sleeves and the strands of disheveled hair streaming from his forehead.

She took the towel from his palm and whispered, "Then, shall I help you wipe it?"

Zac raised his eyebrows slightly, and the corners of his lips curved up.

He didn't seem resentful or weak as he nodded, "Oh, wipe it off.”
