Chapter 38 I Want To Marry You!
Chapter 38 I Want To Marry You!
"Lemuel Lawson, you should be aware that you have to marry her! Not me!" Wilson finally got mad. He
shouted out Lemuel's name.
Lemuel looked even colder. His handsome face turned to be evil and his thin lips looked so cruel and
cold-blooded, "You want me to marry your used one?"
Hearing that, Verena was rendered so embarrassed. She felt like being slapped. However, she had no
choice but to put up with it.
"So then?" Lemuel stared at him coldly, "You want me to marry her? Impossible!"
After saying that, he moved to go upstairs.
Wilson sighed and looked at Verena, speechless, "I do want to help you. And I have tried my best. Now
it's up to you!"
Lemuel didn't even want to hear his words. Besides, Lemuel also hated him. So it didn't work no matter
how hard Wilson tried.
"I am going upstairs now. Just think about it."
Only she and Sammy were left on the table. Sammy was still smiling while enjoying his tofu with spoon.
For him, he was too young to understand the conversation between the adults. He kept smacking his
lips white eating. He even handed the spoon of tofu in front of Verena, "Miss Pretty, it tastes so good!
Just try it!"
Verena smiled and opened her mouth to eat the tofu, "Tell me, little Sammy, what else do you want
then?"
"Fish!"
"Okay, let me get some for you!"
While feeing him, Verena was eating herself. Her mouth was stuffed with food.

matter she felt painful or happy. Since she chose to live on, she would like to live a happy one.
So she would like to relax herself and kept going with a bright smile. No matter how hard her life stroke,
she still insisted on loving herself as there was no one else cared about her anymore.
She stayed tough and kept wearing a warm smile on her face. Then she continued with the food till she
finished stuffing her staving stomach. Though she looked tough, it felt sad still.
Verena sat on her bed the next morning. She bit her lips while staring at her phone, feeling awkward.
Wilson had been clear about his own attitude last night. He was right, she had no time to waste.
Now Wilson was getting worse. So she had to make Lemuel marry her before the cancer struck Wilson
again.
However, she still had work to do. What was worse, she was late on her first day and today she needed
to ask for a leave. It would be too awkward for her to mention it.
Suddenly, her phone rang. It was a call from Eden. Verena's hand couldn't help getting stiff. She gritted
and still picked it up, "Hello?"
"It's me!" his voice sounded as soft as falling snows, "You haven't got up?"
"What?" she was stunned and her face went blushed. She stammered, "I haven't…"
Eden smiled, "Okay, actually, we don't have work to do today and also in the following two days. You
don't need to work. Just take a rest."
She paused and hurried to answer, "Okay, got it!"
"I am going to have lunch with my girlfriend! Do you want to join us?" he smiled.
Girlfriend?
She suddenly grabbed her phone tight and her nails even stabbed into her tender palm. She gasped
out of pain and then laughed, "Come on! Why do you want a third wheel to join your lunch with your
girlfriend? Do you deem that necessary?"
"Are you sure you don't want to join?"
"No! Wish you and your girlfriend a happy date! I want to sleep a little longer! Bye!"
Before Eden uttered, she hung up her phone and it slightly fell down from her palm. Her heart started to
ache bit by bit.
Though she had warned herself not to be dreaming, her heart still ached much because of Eden.
She blinked her sore eyes and moved her sore nose. Then she gasped and murmured, "Come on, I
am his assistant! I should do my job well!"
She got up and went to wash up herself in the bathroom. After getting herself changed, she knew from
the butler that Lemuel had gone to work in the company. She didn't stay and hurried to head to the
company.
Because of the work permit given by Wilson, she was free to enter.
As soon as she arrived at the company, she knew from the guard that Lemuel hadn't arrived yet.
Hearing that, she sighed and sat down on the sofa in the lobby to wait for him.
Though she hadn't seen him, her heart started to beat fiercely out of control as if it were about to jump
out of her chest.
No matter how frightened she was, she still had to give a shot!
"Mr. Lemuel is coming!" suddenly, the lobby manager exclaimed. All senior managers soon got out of
the lobby and lined up beside the path to wait for him, looking solemn.
Then the gilt glass revolving door was pushed turned and Lemuel, who was wearing a black suit with a
plaid shirt inside couple with a dark red tie, stepped in elegantly. His perfect face looked just like a
masterpiece of statue. He looked so deadly attractive! He glanced at those mangers lining up beside.
Then he headed to his personal elevator.
Behind him followed by his sectary and assistant and other senior managers. He still looked
domineering and powerful among the crowd.
When the crowd left, Verena gradually shifted her gaze off the newspaper in front of her. Then she also
took another elevator to head to the president's office.
As she had been here before, she was quite familiar with the layout here. She got off the elevator on
the floor for president only. As she approached the president's office, she couldn't help swallowing and
knocked on the door softly.
"Come in." his deep voice sounded. She couldn't help grabbing her own clothes to muster up courage.
She pushed the door opened and saw Lemuel sitting behind the wooden desk, on the surface of which
was stuffed with piles of files. Even so, she could still see him clearly.
"What's the matter?" he just asked with his head down.
Verena took a deep breath and stressed out her words, "Let's have a talk!"
Lemuel, who was reading the files, suddenly paused. He raised his head and started at her coldly. His
cold words sounded as he moved his thin lips, "Why are you here?"
His repellent eyes looked quite obvious—he wanted her to get out!
"I am here to talk about our marriage!" she hurried to continue, "I want to marry you!"
