Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle

Matthew escorted Blanca home and immediately headed back to the Empire Group. Blanca knew that he was busy. But Matthew didn’t have the chance to thoroughly talk about what he knew about the pendant and Malinda Roach.

Mrs. Brown couldn’t help but wonder what Blanca was thinking about in silence sitting on the couch since she came back. When she mopped the floor again, Mrs. Brown finally asked Blanca about it. Blanca smiled, and suddenly looked at Mrs. Brown, “Mrs. Brown, you have been here with Matthew since a long time ago, right?”

“I do.” Mrs. Brown assumed that Blanca was falling deeper for Matthew and that she was getting curious about learning more about his past. So Mrs. Brown was quite happy. So she sat down and talked with Blanca, “Mr. Grant’s mother passed a long time ago. I have been taking care of Mr. Grant since he was little. No one else would do a better job than I do!”

“Have you been living in Oakshire?” Blanca’s eyes were blinking brightly, and she was hugging her knees while sitting on the couch. Mrs. Brown barely had had anyone to talk to since she worked, and Blanca kept her interested, “Yes, I have. I was married before. But after I had kids, I became Mr. Grant’s nanny and started taking care of him ever since then…”

“Mrs. Brown, can you tell me more about Matthew?”

Blanca laughed. Mrs. Brown didn’t treat Blanca as an outsider, so she started talking endlessly. Blanca deliberately led the topic to the Butler family. Only then did she learn that Malinda Roach was the first-born daughter of the famous Roach family in Oakshire City.

Mr. Butler had only one daughter, and her name was Rosanne Butler. Rosanne fell in love with Anton Roach – the young master of the Roach family. They were almost a perfect match – they fell in love quickly and had a daughter of their own. And that daughter was Malinda Roach.

Blanca couldn’t help but look envious as she listened to Mrs. Brown’s narration.

No wonder Malinda turned out to be so good-looking and knowledgeable, she was really different from a wild girl who grew up in the country like Blanca herself!

However, Matthew said that the pendant…

“Mrs. Brown, does Mr. Butler really only have one daughter?” Blanca asked.

Mrs. Brown nodded and she wondered why Blanca would ask so. And suddenly Mrs. Brown remembered something, and she yelled, “Right! Twenty years ago, something big happened. The daughter of the Butler family went missing abruptly. And a year later, they found her. And after that, the Butler’s and Roach’s even loved the granddaughter more.”

Went missing?

Blanca’s instincts told her there was something wrong. But she wasn’t sure what that was. She was suspicious, “How old is Miss Roach?”

“Let’s see… should be twenty-two.”

As soon as Mrs. Brown finished speaking, Blanca sat up on the couch. The pendant was made by Mr. Butler. Miss Roach once lost it. Was it possible that this pendant was actually the one that Mr. Butler had given to Malinda back then? But why did it end up in Blanca’s hands?

There seemed to be a mess in Blanca’s head. Blanca covered her head and heard Mrs. Brown anxiously ask, “Mrs. Grant, what’s the matter with you?”

“I am okay, just remembering that I have something else to do. I am heading out.”

Blanca turned her head and said to Mrs. Brown when she was on her way out. There were too many doubts about this matter, Blanca had to clear these up with Matthew!

What if Blanca herself had to do with the Roach family?

Even though Blanca didn’t believe in such a coincidence, she would not let go of any clues and evidence.
