Chapter 1 The Offer Of The Royal Magic School

Chapter 1 The Offer Of The Royal Magic School

In a beautiful two-story villa, a girl wearing pink sportswear stood on the balcony. There was a piece of

paper in her slender hands.

It was a note that had appeared on her table this morning. At first, she thought nothing of it and was

intending to throw it away. Just when she was about to, her brother stopped her, saying that it was very

important. Afterwards, no matter how many times she asked, he wouldn't say what it was. Now, she

was burning with curiosity.

What the hell was this?

After looking at the paper for such a long time, she could no longer bear it.

"Come on. Just tell me, Hurst. What is this?" she asked, turning around to face the boy who was

packing up in the room. The piece of paper fluttered in her hand as she waved it around. After all, there

should be no shame in asking about something you didn't know about.

It was fortunate that she had such a smart brother. But, from time to time, she couldn't help but feel that

she was dragging him down to her level.

In truth, Anne Gu wasn't at all that half bad. It was just that her brother was absolutely exemplary that it

was inevitable that she would get overshadowed by him most of the time.

"It's the admission letter to the Royal Magic School, idiot," Hurts Gu said with his lips curling into a

sneer. When he caught sight of his sister, he couldn't help but roll his eyes in disdain and sigh heavily.

It went without saying that Hurst Gu was skilled in magic. Because of this, he couldn't wrap his head

around that fact of how clueless Anne Gu was no matter how hard he tried to mentor her every day.

There wasn't really a lot of options for Hurst Gu to begin with -- if their parents hadn't decided to travel

around the world and leave Anne Gu in his care, he would've never bothered to take her to the Royal

Magic School in the first place.

He had a lot to uphold since he was one of the school's best students, while his sister didn't even seem

to take it seriously at all.

"Admission letter to the Royal Magic School?" Anne Gu looked and turned the paper over a couple of

times, feeling stumped as she saw that nothing was there. 'There's nothing written on here! But the

quality of the paper is really good though. The type that could be used to make paper cranes!

Hmmm... Maybe my brother is just trying to scare me,' Anne Gu thought to herself, her brows

furrowing.

"You idiot!" Hurst Gu exasperated, gritting his teeth. Stretching out his hand, he uttered a short spell.

Words started to slowly appear on the piece of paper right before her eyes.

Even when Hurst Gu tried to induce Anne Gu's interest in magic, she just wasn't eager to learn

anything about it. Thus, her level of magic was really low.

However, when she saw the words "Royal Magic School" fade into the paper, an excitement rose up

from her heart. "Wow, it's really not an ordinary white paper!" she exclaimed.

"Such an idiot..." Hurst Gu mumbled under his breath.

"So where is this Royal Magic School? It sounds interesting," Anne Gu asked, studying the piece of

paper up close.

"It's nestled somewhere in the mountains, secluded amidst a thick forest," Hurst Gu stated almost

arrogantly. "A fog envelops the forest all year round, and the mountain is shrouded with a strange

atmosphere to ward off uninvited guests."

Then, he paused to look at Anne Gu with an overbearing look. "Only people like me can go there."

"Hurst, don’t flatter yourself!" Anne retorted, the corners of her lips turning down into a deep frown.

'How could he say such awful things? I'm his biological sister and yet he acts so conceited. I don't know

why it's so easy for him to hurt my self-esteem like that!'

"So what now, Anne? Would you like to go there?" Hurst Gu crooned with an evil smile.

"Of course! It is fun there? Are there any good looking men?" Anne chirped with excitement. It was NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

such a mysterious place!

It was hard to imagine that there would be someone there who was even more handsome than her

brother was.

Just the thought of meeting such a guy was enough for her to feel eager about beginning the semester

at her new school.

"Well, yes. There are lots of handsome men from the Miracle Realm. Would you like to see them?"

Hurst Gu looked at her with his cold, sharp eyes.

"Handsome men? Count me in!" Hearing this, Anne Gu jumped up and down with enthusiasm, her big

eyes sparkling with excitement. 'Just wait for me, boys! Anne Gu is about to come into town!' she sang

in her heart. But, after a while, she paused.

"Hold on. What's 'Miracle Realm'?" Doubt flashed in her eyes as she looked at her brother. What did

the Miracle Realm imply? Where was it located? Was Hurst Gu tricking her in meeting monsters?

"The Miracle Realm is a place for different kinds of creatures. Vampires, werewolves, Demi beasts,

Devils' sons, elves... You name it," Hurst shrugged.

"Okay." Anne nodded slightly, as if she was still thinking about how Hurst Gu had said that there were a

lot of handsome men there and wondering if it was still worth visiting.

"Would you like to go now?" Hurst Gu smiled mysteriously. Before Anne Gu could come to her senses,

he grabbed her hand and opened the access to the Royal Magic School.

"Wh...what? Right now?!" Before she could process what Hurst Gu had said, the scene in front of her

eyes completely shocked her.

A magical portal appeared before them. Just before Anne could react, Hurst pulled her into the cave

with him.

Anne’s scream echoed in the darkness.

"Hurst, you bastard! I wasn't even ready!" Looking around, Hurst was nowhere to be found. However,

peering through the thick foliage, Anne saw a gate in the distance. Without anywhere else to go, she

made her way there. It was a tough place to trek, every step riddled with slippery rocks and overgrown

roots. It was even more challenging with the thick fog enveloping the whole area.

Eventually, she reached the gate. With her hand on her chest, Anne panted heavily, trying to catch her

breath.

Afterwards, she looked up and saw the words "Royal Magic School" written in iron. There was a

gloomy aura that surrounded the towering gate.

'Oh my God! So this is really?' Anne gaped. With all her might, she tried to get the gate opened. When

she could do it, she tried climbing it. However, all her efforts were in vain.

'So is this how the Royal Magic School treats its new disciples?' Anne sighed tiredly.

With her arms crossed over her chest, Anne pursed her lips and stared at the gate. How she wished

that she could just smash it into pieces!

"I told you to practice your magic." A voice suddenly sounded behind her, a trace of contempt lingering

on his tone. "But you never listened to me, did you? Now you're at a disadvantage!"

"Hurst, you... When will you ever stop making fun of me?" For a moment, Anne glowered at her brother.

Hurst was leaning against a tree, an amused smile on his face. There was no doubt that he was truly a

physically blessed man. Standing almost six feet tall, he was frequently envied by other men at how

incredibly good looking he was.

Anne had no idea how long he had been standing there. The only thing she was certain of was that he

must have been there for quite some time now since he didn't look out of breath at all.

'I can't believe this guy!' Anne screamed in her heart. 'There's no way I would consider such a heartless

man to be my brother! He had the nerve to leave me all alone back there. Next time I see him in public,

I won't pay him any attention!'

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Hurst said, beaming widely at Anne. At this point, her face

was red with exhaustion and anger. Despite this, she still had an inherently noble and elegant

temperament.

"Are you serious? You left me back there and I had to climb up here all by myself. Can't you just give

me some time to rest? Besides, the door hasn't been opened yet. How do we even get inside?" Anne

looked at him angrily, her beautiful eyes burning with fire.

'He doesn’t feel pity for me at all. If only I had known what a jerk he would be to me, I would've never

agreed to come to this place!'

In her heart, however, she knew that she had no choice but to be with her brother. Otherwise, she

would definitely not know the first thing she should do in order to live by herself.

"What are you talking about? We can get inside," Hurst snorted as he put his hand on a stone pillar at

the gate.

Although it was true that he had gotten there at the gate before Anne did, he still decided to wait for her

there. It was because he had already thought that she would not be able to figure out how to open the

gate, and might end up running away somewhere dangerous.

As soon as his hand touched the cool stone, a blue light appeared, moving up and down the pillar like

veins.

A deep and dark voice suddenly resonated out of nowhere.

"Welcome. You have successfully arrived at the Royal Magic School. Now that you have passed the

identification test, please enter."

As soon as the creepy voice faded out, the gate slowly opened before them. Anne's eyes widened in

astonishment.

There were goose bumps running up and down her body as she peered around curiously.

Her excitement went as quickly as it came. The place didn't look as promising as Hurst had implied. It

was dark and almost filled with a certain gloom.

There were some students who were chatting among themselves, their bodies and faces slightly

hidden and faded out because of the constant mist all over the area.

‘What is this place? I thought this was the Royal Magic School... Why does it look like a deserted

teaching building?’

Anne hesitated for a moment and wondered whether or not she should take a step inside.

It looked horrible! At this point, she was starting to contemplate on how long she had to stay here.

Apparently, it took three years to complete all the lessons and teaching. If a student happened to fail,

they had to stay here until they finally made it.

Thinking of this, Anne's heart fluttered helplessly in her chest.

'No! There's no way I'm staying here!' Anne cried out to herself. If she had known it earlier, she wouldn't

have been tempted by the handsome men her brother had mentioned to her.

"Come on, Anne. Let's go inside," Hurst said as he turned around to look at her. A smile appeared on

his lips as he saw the expression on her face.

"Hurst, I think I..." For a moment, she had the urge to chicken out.

"Don't worry, okay? I'm here with you. Besides, this school doesn't accept ordinary people. Since you

can climb up here from the bottom of the mountain and pass the numerous tests, it means that you've

got what it takes to be here. Don't you want to show them what you got?" Hurst said softly as he

walked back up to Anne.

"Well..." Anne felt that she was doomed. Was there any way to resist Hurst's seductive eyes? It was

like he could've asked her to do anything and she had no choice but to hopelessly agree to it!
