Mr. CEO Sassy Bride

Soon To End

After a long day at work, Hannah Grande stepped out of her office. Exhausted, she adjusted her brown leather shoulder bag as she made her way to the street to hail a cab.

However, her tiredness was quickly replaced with surprise when David suddenly appeared in front of her.

“Hannah,” he called out softly, his remorse evident on his face.

Hannah rolled her eyes at him, unable to hide her disappointment. Clearly, she wasn’t in the mood to see him anytime soon.

“What are you doing here?” she asked bluntly.

Instead of answering, David brought his hidden left hand forward, revealing a bouquet of flowers that he extended towards Hannah.

For a moment, Hannah was taken aback by the gesture. David had never been one to give her flowers before, so this sudden move came as a shock to her.

“I know I was wrong, Hannah. I have no excuse. I’m sorry,” he apologized.

Hannah scoffed and looked at him in disbelief. “Is this really you, David?”

“Why, have I changed that much?” David asked, a small smile forming on his lips.

“Yeah, you have. First, you acted like an asshole when I asked you to meet my friend, and then you left without a call or message. And now you’re here, being all romantic? After all these weeks?” Hannah barked in annoyance.

David could see that she was genuinely upset, so he moved closer to her.

“I’m sorry for acting like a jerk, Hannah. But you can’t entirely blame me. Any man truly in love with his woman would do much more. I love you so much, Hannah, and the thought of another man being with you terrifies me,” he confessed, his voice breaking with emotion.

It was true that Hannah was angry at David for his behavior in front of Herbert that day, but her love for him had never wavered. She loved him deeply and couldn’t bear to see him looking so hurt.

“I am aware that you love me as much as I love you, David. However, you should already know by now that I would never betray you for any reason. Therefore, when I said Herbert was just a friend, you should have believed me,” Hannah spoke calmly.

“Do you honestly think I would have invited him to our house if there was anything going on between us?”

David thought about it and realized that Hannah was right. She wouldn’t have introduced Herbert to him or brought him to their house if there was something romantic happening between them.

“I am truly sorry, Babe. I acted foolishly and I know it. Please forgive me, hun,” David continued to apologize, looking genuinely remorseful.

With his remorse written all over his face, Hannah couldn’t bear to see him like that. So she closed the distance between them and pressed her lips against his, surprising David.

It didn’t take long before he started kissing her back with just as much desperation as she had. One of his hands went to her waist while the other held the back of her head, pulling her closer. His mouth claimed hers hungrily, like a starving man being offered food.

Their passionate kiss eventually ended, leaving both of them with wide grins on their faces.

“Have you truly forgiven me, Babe?” David asked, still slightly in shock.

Smiling, Hannah nodded and uttered a quiet ‘Yes’.

David then pulled her closer and peppered her face and neck with kisses. “Thank you! Thank you so much, baby! You have no idea what you have given me today!”

Hannah continued to smile as she noticed the bouquet of flowers on the floor, which had fallen from David’s hand during their embrace.

“These are beautiful though,” she complimented as she bent down to pick them up.

David smiled and wrapped his arms around her, saying, “They’re not as beautiful as my Hannah.”

Hannah blushed deeply and quickly hid her face behind the bouquet.

“Come on, babe. You know I love seeing you blush,” David teased, trying to remove the bouquet from her face. But Hannah refused to let go.

“Stop it, David, and let’s go home,” Hannah laughed as she slipped out of his grasp and darted away from David.

“You can’t escape me, my dear,” David teased as he chased after Hannah.

They were the perfect couple that everyone dreamed of.

Meanwhile, in Nelson’s Carter Villa, Leilani and Susan were getting the dinner table ready as Nelson entered.

Mesmerized and ecstatic, Leilani abandoned her task and ran up to him.

“Welcome home, darling. How was work today? Are you feeling exhausted?” she breathed, reaching out to take Nelson’s briefcase, catching him off guard.

But he quickly remembered that Leilani had returned to her playful antics now that Susan was back in the house.

And he loved this feeling. Returning from a long day at the office to a loving wife who genuinely cared about his day. But who was he kidding? Their marriage was just a contract, soon to end.

A small smile tugged at his lips as he nodded in response, walking past Leilani to the dining table.

Susan couldn’t help but notice. She saw the smile on Nelson’s face and knew for sure that he was starting to warm up to Leilani.

Later that evening, after dinner when everyone had retired to their rooms, Leilani emerged from the dressing room in her night dress and saw Nelson massaging his tense shoulders.

She grinned and hopped onto the bed, playfully pressing her hands against Nelson’s back.

Nelson was taken aback. He turned his head to look at her, confusion etched on his face.

But instead, Leilani gave him a warm smile and said, “Don’t worry, Sir. I give the best massages, trust me.”

Initially, Nelson had believed that Leilani was only playing the role of a caring wife for his mother’s sake. But now, he could see that she genuinely meant every gesture.

So he took one of her hands and pulled her down from the bed, making her kneel before him.

“What is going on? Why are you abruptly exhibiting this behavior?” he inquired straightforwardly but then his memory was triggered, reminding him the reason for her sweetness.

“Is it due to my assistance for your brother?” he probed and Leilani nodded sharply, still flashing her radiant smile.

“Yes, Mr. Carter. You have done me a great favor, sir, and I intend to repay it in any way possible,” she uttered with a grin and in an instant, she returned to the bed and resumed massaging Nelson’s shoulders.

Nelson was taken aback, not expecting such a drastic change in Leilani. As he contemplated her sudden transformation, her smile faded and was replaced with pity in her eyes.

It was not actually Nelson’s favor that caused her to act this way, but rather something Susan had previously revealed to her.

Susan had passionately beseeched for her help in winning back Nelson’s heart, and she had promised to give her all despite their contract ending soon.

Leilani was determined to fulfill her mission, no matter how difficult it may be. She knew what she was getting into. Nelson’s story had deeply touched her and she was willing to do whatever it took to bring back the old Nelson.

“Are you even paying attention?” Nelson’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

“I apologize, sir. What is it?” she asked. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

“What were you thinking about?” Nelson’s tone was gruff.

Leilani smiled and reassured him it was nothing.

“Was it about your brother?” Nelson prodded and Leilani fell silent.

Unexpectedly, Nelson turned his focus to her on the bed and she instinctively scooted back.

“Do you have any plans for him? I mean after he is discharged from the hospital,” Nelson couldn’t help but express his concern, despite not being aware of his own actions.

“Not yet. He will go back to my friend’s house and after our contract marriage ends, we will both return to our own respective homes. Although, I may need to find a new place since I owe my landlord a significant amount,” Leilani explained with a shy smile, fiddling with her fingers.

Nelson remained silent for an extended moment, his gaze fixed upon Leilani’s face.

Then, without warning, he inquired, “For how long did he remain confined to the wheelchair? Was he able to complete his high school education?”

Leilani’s head shook slowly, her smile a bittersweet one. “He didn’t have the chance to attend high school,” she replied.

“Damn,” muttered Nelson under his breath.

In that moment, he comprehended the extent of what Leilani must have endured. She had no parents and had to raise her disabled brother all on her own.

“He will return to school once he is discharged from the hospital,” he asserted, causing Leilani to look at him in disbelief.

“Yes,” Nelson continued. “I will ensure it. You don’t have to worry, I will take care of everything.”

The words had barely escaped Nelson’s lips when Leilani let out a shriek of joy and threw herself into his embrace.

“Oh my goodness, how can I ever repay you, sir?” she cried, her arms wrapping tightly around Nelson’s neck.
