Moonlight Serenade

Along the road

Jewel exhaled a sigh of relief.

A pick-up truck was parked in the corner of the parking lot, and Pedro was standing on its side, waving at them. "Senyorita, Senyorito! You two are truly on par when it comes to beauty!" Gideon smiled as she shook her head, not responding to what her assistant said.

Jewel jumped into the car without waiting for her husband. She didn't want her University acquaintance or friend to see her in a wedding gown. They will undoubtedly inquire and may even discover that she is married. She intended to conceal her true civil status. Fortunately, the car's windshield was tinted.

After a few moments, Gideon boarded. He drove out of the Municipal Hall and onto the road that led to Dayhagon.

The journey was peaceful. She opened the window to let in some fresh air. Because the car was in the Aisle, she didn't have to worry about anyone seeing her. She examined the green sugarcanes. They shone brightly in the sunlight. Her lips formed a smile.

She drew her head and hand out, feeling the cold air. As she closed her eyes, her smile widened on her lips. She remembered riding with Francisko and being able to freely tour the entire hacienda. This was also the type of fresh air that was blowing in her face.

"Don't stretch your arms too much, Jewel," Gideon cautioned, slowing the car down slightly.

When she heard her husband's voice, her fantasy came to an end. She smirked. "I know. Don't scold me like a child, and stop calling my name in that tone; you sound like Dad."

"I see, but you still need to hold on tight because if you fall, no one will catch you."NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

She winced as her eyes blinked. "You don't have control over my life, Hernandez. I'm not your subject."

"I'm concerned about your well-being."

"Even so, stop commanding me!"

Gideon sighed and ceased speaking. For a few moments, they were surrounded by silence. When the car turned away from the Mansion, her eyes squinted. Before she could say anything, a hammer-like pain in her lower abdomen struck her. She flushed and bit her lower lip. What? She had forgotten it was her period!

She took a long, deep breath. "What are we doing?" she inquired.

"To our house."

Her toes curled and her knuckles turned white as she endured the dull pain. "Huh?" she exclaimed, dazed.

When he noticed how pale her face was, he frowned at her. "Are you all right?"

"No!"

'This stupid period!' she cursed in her head. 'Why today? I didn't have any pads!'

Jewel took several deep breaths, and Gideon noticed her shift in demeanor. He pulled over to the side of the road and looked over at Jewel, who was trembling in the passenger seat. Sweat beads formed on her brow. "Hey," he said, reaching out and grabbing her shoulder. "What's the matter?"

Gideon detected the scent of blood before Jewel could respond. His brow furrowed, and he turned Jewel around to examine her body.

"H-Hey, stop moving me around like that!" she hissed. The more he twisted her, the more pain she felt.

During her period, it was always like this. She would curl up in a corner to relieve the pain and never touch anything cold to relieve the pain. But she was in a car with a low temperature, which was causing her dysmenorrhea to surge like a madman.

Gideon became aware of the blood stains on Jewel's dress. The blood splattered on the passenger seat, but it didn't matter. He immediately turned off the air cooler and accelerated the car.

"Do you have any pads?" he inquired.

Jewel was taken aback and fixed her gaze on him. "What?"

"I asked if you have your pads."

She shook her head and gulped. This big man knew exactly what she needed during her period. Seriously? She gave him a suspicious look, which Gideon noticed. "What?" he asked. "Are you a sissy?"

The car came to a halt. She might have hit her face on the dashboard if it hadn't been for her seatbelt. "What's up with the sudden stop?" she exclaimed.

"Sorry."

The car passed through the Aisle and onto the highway. Gideon stopped at a convenience store to get some pads before he continued driving.

Jewel tried to break the silence by bringing up a topic. She was afraid that if she didn't distract herself, the pain in her lower abdomen would return. "Do you own a house?" "Yes."

"Inheritance?"

"No."

"Loan?"

Gideon burst out laughing. "I owe nothing, Jewel."

She smirked.

One of his arms was propped up against the window sill, the other on the steering wheel. He had a small smile on his lips and looked at her from time to time to make sure she was okay.

"So you have a job?" she asked again, her gaze shifting away from Gideon.

He gave a nod. "I bought that house while I was still a Corporal Scout Ranger."

"Ah?" Her brow furrowed as she searched for an excuse to bully her husband. She wasn't looking for attention, but her period was making her do childish things. This could be due to a hormonal imbalance or rapid mood swings.

"I'm not into older men," she warned, "so you see, if I can't get anything good from you, I'll pack my bags and go back to my father." "Even if you were in the military previously, but you are now unemployed, and I don't like men who don't contribute to society, and I despise it when my husband is still dependent on his parents."

Gideon burst out laughing. Jewel rolled her eyes and parted her lips. "I'm not making this up, Hernandez. Stop laughing!"

He stopped laughing, but Jewel could tell he was happy. "I will raise you and our child, and I will not sign the marriage contract if I cannot provide you with a single penny."

Jewel averted her gaze as her cheeks turned bright red. What kind of shiver did his words cause... wife and child? He went overboard. She had no intention of surrendering herself to him.

'Is he a green flag?' she asked herself. Although she liked red flag male leads in the novels she read, she would never wish for a possessive and obsessive freak in real life because she did not want to live in a cage.

She sighed and shook her head. "Will I be living in your house?"

"You don't want it?" Gideon asked, his tongue clicking. "Would you like to live under the bridge? Tell me, and I'll drop you off," he joked.

Her cheeks were flushed. "Rude. I'm just asking," she muttered to herself as she looked out the window. "You're the old one here, but you love to tease me. You're so childish."

His lips formed a smile. The car approached an intersection. "I thought you young ladies liked funny men? I'm doing my best to pass for one."

Gideon laughed when he saw her disgusted expression. She sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're not fit to perform as a clown. Stop fooling around."

"As you please, wife."

"Hmmph," she said, her gaze drawn to the pack of tampons Gideon had brought her. She was initially uneasy with him, but talking to him in this manner made her discomfort fade. She pondered... It wasn't so bad being his wife.

Her hand reached for her phone and dialed Dalya's number. She was so preoccupied with her wedding that she forgot to tell her maid to pack some of her books as well. She planned to finish her newly brought books before the summer days ended next month because it is forbidden to bring such books inside the dormitory.

Her call, however, did not reach Dalya's phone. Her brow furrowed. What's the deal with her? Dalya never turned her phone off.

She pursed her lips and stowed her phone. "Before I forget, I didn't bring my luggage. I'll have to return later," she explained. "No need. ;I told them to pack your belongings."

"What?" she asked, wide-eyed. "What exactly did you say?"

"Don't worry, your belongings are on their way."

Her brows furrowed. "No," she said, shaking her head. "You must stop them, or my maid will."

Gideon gave her a quick glance but didn't say anything else. She took a deep breath in. "Hey, I need to get home, so turn this car!"

"Be obedient. They could have finished packing your belongings by now."

His words made her feel cold on the inside. Her greatest fear was that the servants would discover her secret books. She has never let maids enter her room since she began collecting books. What if the maids tell her mother about her x- rated books?
