Chapter 29
Chapter 29
"She is my assistant. She will be responsible for taking care of Zeph," Vivianna retorted. She just did not like to succumb to the man's demands.
"Anyway, from now on, I will take responsibility for my son's well-being. If you want to go to work, please go. You can leave him with me," Augustine spoke with a tense expression.
"Mommy, go to work! I'll just follow Daddy. I still have a lot of things to discuss with Daddy!" Zephaniah did not want to leave his Daddy's side.
Vivianna had an impulse to drag him away, but Jessamyn was waiting for her. She gritted her teeth and said, "Okay, I'll pick you up after work." Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"I'll bring him home, and my chauffeur will pick you up to go to my house." Augustine didn't want to separate from the little guy at all.
Vivianna was infuriated, but she would not show her anger and discomfort in front of her son.
"Alright!" Vivianna had to compromise. Then, she stared at this imposing and dignified man and said, "You are not allowed to simply give Zeph any food. Also, it's too cold here. Please turn the heat up."
Augustine frowned. This woman actually dared to
order him.
"I definitely have the ability to take care of my son," Augustine said unhappily. How could this woman be so annoying?
"Hopefully." After saying that, Vivianna left. Before she walked off, she gave Zeph a gentle and loving smile. "See you later."
The little boy blew her a kiss. "Mommy, be careful."
Vivianna nodded and she went out quickly.
"Daddy, can you ask your driver to send Mommy to work?" The little guy felt sorry for his mom, who had to take a cab to work. He pleaded with his dad.
Augustine would not refuse any of his son's requests right now. He needed to win him over in the shortest time.
"Okay." Augustine smirked and he took out his cell phone to dial his driver's number. "Go to the main entrance and pick up a woman in a gray suit. Her name is Vivianna Carlewood. Wait for her to finish her work and send her to my house at night."
When Vivianna came out of Giltstone Enterprise, she saw a middle-aged man smiling at her. "Are you Miss Vivianna Carlewood? I'm Mr. Giltstone's driver. He asked me to send you to your workplace."
Vivianna was shocked and she looked up at the majestic building towering over her. "Was this man being kind?" she thought to herself.
It was not easy to hail a cab right now, so she nodded and said, "Yes, please. Sorry for the trouble."
Why would she refuse a ride from his driver?
They reached the destination quickly. When she got out of the car, the driver said to her, "Miss Carlewood, I will wait for you here. Mr. Giltstone asked me to send you to his house in the evening."
Vivianna despised Augustine, that arrogant, rude, and condescending man. However, she was polite to other people. She nodded and smiled. "Alright then, thank you."
Vivianna strode into the cafe. When she arrived at the designated room, she saw Linda sitting on the sofa. Next to her, Jessamyn was in a fancy red dress. She was crossing her legs and holding a glass of red wine in her hand.
"You're finally here!" Jessamyn sneered. After saying that, she turned to Linda and said, "I want to talk to Designer Carlewood. Could you all please leave first?"
Linda nodded. She gave Vivianna an encouraging look, and she left with her assistant.
As soon as she closed the door, Jessamyn laughed. Looking at Vivianna, who looked tired, she said gleefully, "Vivianna, look at you now. I really pity you!"
Vivianna said with a serious expression, "May I ask what are your opinions on my designs?"
Jessamyn snorted and said, "What kind of designs are these? I think that students from primary schools can come up with better designs than you. Do you think that I will spend millions to purchase such designs?"
