Chapter 39
Emy He’s hand stood in the air for about ten seconds.
Although it was not a long time, it was enough to make her feel embarrassed. The smile on her face slowly stiffened.
Seeing this, Esely Lin reminded her gently, “Cupid, don’t stand still. Thank grandma.”
Although Cupid didn’t say anything, his little face was full of unwillingness. But he would listen to Esely Lin. He took the so-called “gift” from Emy He and said, “thank you!”
Emy He smiled again. Then she pulled Snow Lin over and said to Cupid again, “Cupid, this is your aunt.”
A hint of vigilance quickly appeared in Cupid’s big eyes. His little body hid behind her Mommy again. Reminded by Esely Lin gently, the little boy finally opened his mouth and greeted, “Hello, Auntie!”
Although Snow Lin was not as hospitable as her mother Emy He, she still smiled.
At the dinner table, Emy He kept consoling Esely Lin and picking up food for her and Cupid. Mond Lin also asked about Esely Lin’s situation in the past few years.
Esely Lin answered.
The whole family looked so happy and touching.
But Esely Lin still felt that something was wrong.
She knew her stepmother and sister very well, and they had always hated her to the bone. But now… Looking at the sincere smile on Emy He’s face, she wondered if she had thought too much.
In the middle of the meal, Emy He asked, “Esely Lin, now that you’re back, where do you live?”
“I’ll live with Chester Ye for the time being.”
“Chester Ye?” Emy He repeated, and suddenly realized, “Oh, you mean that Chester. Ah, I heard that she has a boyfriend, and they have a good relationship. Esely Lin, this is what I want to talk about you. Since you have returned, you can move back. It’s not good to always live with your friends.”
For the first time, her stepmother, who had been eager to drive her out of the house, asked her to go back to live.
For a moment, Esely Lin really thought that Emy He had changed, but she didn’t think too much.
“Auntie, I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Esely Lin said, looking at Cupid tenderly. Last night, Cupid begged her to have a family of his own. It could be seen that even he didn’t like to live under other people’s roof.
Emy He sighed and scratched in the air.
“What’s wrong with that? Besides, that’s your home. I won’t allow you two to live outside, let alone your father doesn’t agree.”
“Well…” Esely Lin hesitated.
She looked up and saw her father, Mond Lin, looking at her kindly and sincerely. She knew that her father missed her. But was Emy He really sincere?
“Kid, your aunt is right. You are not married yet. It’s not reasonable for you to live outside.” Mond Lin finally spoke.
In fact, Mond Lin was the only one who sincerely hoped that his daughter could come back. The others all had their own goals, which were self-evident.
“Well, that’s it. I’ll ask the driver to pick you up later.” Emy He seemed to be very anxious and worried that Esely Lin would refuse him politely again. He made the decision for her.
During the dinner, Esely Lin took care of Cupid and didn’t have much time to eat. But she didn’t notice that the other two were secretly winking at her.
Finally, Snow Lin couldn’t dissuade Emy He. She stood up, took up her glass and proposed a toast to her sister Esely Lin.
“Sister, I propose a toast to you.” Snow Lin’s voice was very fast, and there was no serious expression on her face. “I wish you… A successful return!” After saying that, she raised her head and drank a glass of wine.
Esely Lin was confused.
What did she mean by returning with victory?
“Ha ha, Esely Lin. You know your sister. She doesn’t like to study since childhood and often uses idioms. Don’t care too much.” Emy He came out to mediate the dispute, and then urged her, “come on, let’s eat…”
The dinner didn’t finish until nearly one o’clock in the morning.
Still reluctant to leave, Emy He held Esely Lin’s hand and said something to her. Cupid followed Mond Lin to the bathroom.
The little boy moved quickly and solved the problem early. He ran to the hall outside and waited.
The news suddenly played on the wall attracted his attention. He raised his neck and stood on tiptoe. But he was too short to see what was inside. She heard someone talking, as if they were interviewing some big shot.
The little guy stepped back.
One step, two steps, three steps
“Ouch!”
Suddenly, a woman’s scream came from behind.
The little guy turned around and was about to apologize when he heard the woman’s shrill voice.
“How could you be so impolite and rash? ” As Sherly Swiss spoke, she rubbed the tip of her foot that was stepped on, and several words piled up between her eyebrows. “Why are you so ill bred now?”
Cupid knew he was wrong, but he really didn’t like others to call him little devil.
With his hands on his waist, the little boy began to berate like Sherly Swiss did.
“Then whose bad woman are you? Why are you so loud and talking about other people? Are you well-educated?”
When had Sherly Swiss been scolded like this? He was still a little kid. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
She was so angry that she raised her eyebrows and cursed, “which clan are you from? Where are your parents? If they don’t discipline you well, I’ll discipline them for them.”
Nicola White couldn’t stand it anymore, so he stopped her and said, “Okay, okay, just a child. How can you be so serious with a child?”
“Exactly. This uncle is right. I’m a child and it’s normal that I don’t know how to be polite. But what about you? You’re an adult and you speak so vulgar. You don’t look like a child from a good family.”
Cupid was not afraid of any trouble. Although he was young, he had a strong self-esteem.
Sherly Swiss’s face turned pale with anger.
“You ungracious child, which family are you from?”
Compared with the ferocity of Sherly, Cupid looked very calm. He tilted his little head and was thinking about how to answer this question.
