Shadow was still shaking her head in disbelief, her wolf instincts urging her to be wary. If only she had seen through Jessica’s mask a little earlier, she would’ve found a way to prevent all of this from happening.
Just as she stepped out of the restaurant, the moon’s eerie glow guiding her path, Shadow received a call from Hazel, her packmate and confidante.
“Come over quickly! The red car across the road,” Hazel’s urgent voice echoed through the phone before abruptly ending the call.
Shadow looked up and saw the red car across the road, its deep crimson color reflecting the sinister nature of the night. As she approached the vehicle, it honked twice, as if signaling her to hurry.
Knowing that her friend was in a rush, she immediately crossed the deserted road and slipped into the car. Shadow turned to the woman beside her, recognizing Hazel, her determined eyes shining with purpose in the dim light.
“I didn’t expect to see you here,” Shadow whispered, her voice carrying the weight of secrets and hidden intentions.
“You don’t expect a lot of things,” Hazel replied cryptically, her grip tightening on the steering wheel. “How was it? Was it successful?”
Hazel, an alpha in her own right, possessed a charm that drew attention and recognition. That was why she had waited for Shadow outside, knowing the importance of their meeting.
Shadow’s lips curled into a sly smile as she replied, her voice dripping with satisfaction. “Very well.”
For years, Jessica had oppressed her, underestimating her wit and resilience. But now, Shadow had plotted her revenge, using Jessica’s own desires against her. And nobody, not even Jessica, could have foreseen the trap set by their own family member whom they had always looked down upon.
“But the plan may be changed,” Shadow continued, her gaze locked on Hazel’s fierce determination.
“What do you mean?” Hazel’s voice held a hint of anger, her hands clenching the steering wheel tighter.
“She wants me to divorce Alpha Kilian and infuriate the Lances. It will be enough to divert the public’s eye onto me, an insult far greater than anything Jessica has done. This way, she can be with Henry in peace, without causing a scandal in their social circle.”
Hazel’s fury erupted like wildfire, her fist hitting the steering wheel with a powerful thud. “How can she be so shameless? Hasn’t she done enough damage to you? Is there no end to her cruelty?”
“There is no end when it benefits her,” Shadow replied calmly, her wolf blood boiling under the surface.
She had initially planned to expose Jessica and their toxic relationship through the media. But now, with everything that had transpired, she knew she had to take another step forward, a step that would change the course of their lives forever.
…
On social media, the once-trending topic of ‘The Ugly Wench’ slowly vanished into the shadows. But it didn’t take long for a new topic to ignite the curiosity of the masses.
The name was intriguing – “Divorce or Bear the consequences!”
Shadow’s lips twitched in a wolfish grin as she surveyed the thousands of comments flooding in. Her plan was in motion, and the world would soon understand the extent of her determination.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
“According to rumors, Mrs. Eden’s sister is contemplating divorce due to insurmountable pressure…”
“Pressure? She should be burdened by her own guilt and deceit!”
“Come on, it was obvious she was planning this divorce from the start. She never truly loved Alpha Kilian, just used him as a means to an end!”
“I think that bitch just wants to play with people’s hearts.”
The topic quickly regained its status as a top trend, as people speculated on Alpha Kilian’s reaction. But just as quickly as it emerged, the topic mysteriously disappeared, deleted or blocked by unknown forces.
Shadow knew it was the work of the powerful Lances family, protecting their reputation and their crippled heir. They would not allow their successor to be scrutinized and discussed on the Internet. The Pack’s hierarchy demanded respect, and crossing the Lances family was a dangerous game.
That night, a video arrived, sent by an unexpected ally – a former reporter who had openly despised Shadow on the Internet. He had posted countless articles against her, slandering her name with baseless accusations. Yet now, he had turned the tables, offering her a weapon to use against Jessica.
The video revealed the true colors of Jessica, showcasing her domineering and despicable demeanor, while Shadow appeared vulnerable and afraid. The audience watched with bated breath, witnessing the showdown between predator and prey, their hearts swaying towards Shadow’s side.
“I’ve already apologized. Please, don’t make things difficult for my mother,” Shadow’s voice pleaded, her vulnerability a stark contrast to Jessica’s arrogance.
The insults hurled at her echoed through the screen, reinforcing the image of Jessica’s true self. Within minutes, the truth was revealed, and those who had insulted Shadow before were silenced, their voices drowned in shame.
Apologies flooded the internet, as people began to recognize their mistake. There were still a few stubborn individuals who continued to insult her, but their voices were drowned out by the majority.
In just a few hours, Shadow’s social media following grew by fifty thousand, her influence spreading like wildfire through the werewolf community. And as the moon rose higher in the darkened sky, Shadow knew that her revenge was just beginning.
