Chapter 30
Elara
‘He’s a loner. There were times his mother would ask me to play with him, but he barely spoke to me,’ he says, shrugging his shoulders. Zuriel has always been like that. He was a loner and pushed people away. I wonder why he did that. His life must have been lonely.
‘I see,’
I smile at Rob when we reach the resort and sigh, ‘ Thank you so much. I had a wonderful time, and I’ll see you tomorrow,’
‘Of course, Ma’am,’
I groan, ‘ Again? I told you to call me Elara,’Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
He smiles and nods, ‘ Good night, Elara,’
I watch him leave. The female concierge is glaring at me. She fosters a smile when our eyes meet, but I remain stoic. I’m about to go in the elevator, but I hit my body into someone and dropped my phone,
‘Sorry,’ I murmur, picking it up. I glance up at the person I bumped into. Cold, dark emerald eyes are glaring daggers at me.
‘Hey, where are you going?’ I ask, ignoring his angry stare.
‘Why were you with that man?’ he growls. I roll my eyes. Was he watching?
‘He’s my tour guide,’ I retort and walk past him to the elevator. He follows suit. I draw in a deep breath. For some reason, I’m just angry at him. Zuriel doesn’t say a word or ask how my day was after not seeing me the whole day! We reach our suite, and I go straight to the bathroom. I take off my clothes and stand under the hot shower. I want to hit the wall and scream. I hate how Zuriel disregards me. I take a long time in the shower. I enjoy the water on my body. I blow my hair dry before leaving the shower.
When I came out, Zuriel was at the door, blocking me.
‘What?’
‘Are you mad at me?’ he asks.
‘Why do you think that,’ I say with sarcasm, but it goes over his head.
‘You were unusually quiet on our way here, and I can sense your anger,’ he explains. Our proximity makes me feel overwhelmed, and I step away from him.
‘I’m upset that you didn’t come with me today,’ I tell him. He looks shocked for a moment.
‘Oh, but I was-‘
‘I know, in a meeting,’ I snap and go to the walk-in closet. I pick out a night dress. Solena bought it for me as a wedding present. It was so sexy. I contemplate wearing it,
‘Just do it,’ Ara purrs. She wants us to wear it so that Zuriel should notice and want us. Reluctantly, I do and turn in the mirror. My cheeks redden. I put my hair in a bun before going out. Zuriel’s gaze found me immediately. I see longing and lust clear in his eyes. His heart skips a beat, and he looks away from me. He sucks in a breath and asks in a low, deep voice,
‘Dinner?’
I smirk, pleased that my plan to incense him up sexually worked.
‘We can be dinner,’ Ara muses.
‘No, I already ate,’ I say.
I sit on the couch, crossing my legs and checking on my family. I can feel my husband’s gaze on me. However, I don’t look at him. My heart is racing, but I try to tame him. It is our first real night together as a married couple. What will happen now? Are we going to consummate our marriage?
He goes to the mini-bar near the balcony. I can see him. His gaze makes my body burn in desire. I want him to make love to me, but he doesn’t make an effort to come close to me.
I give up on being with him tonight. He won’t do it. He doesn’t love me.
I go to bed and close my eyes to sleep. But sleep doesn’t come easy. I turn and toss until I drift to sleep.
His fingers on my body are driving me crazy. I want him to touch my core and pleasure me. I feel his hands on my body, and my hips arch, wanting more of his hands.
A soft moan escapes my mouth as his lips descend on my neck. I hear a growl erupt, but I ignore him. He’s in my dream, and I’m in charge.
‘Zuriel,’ I moaned,
‘Yes, little princess?’ I hear his voice. It sounds so close and too … Real. My eyes snap open, and sit upright when I see him watching me. I’m panting and blushing. Zuriel has a smirk on his face.
‘You were dreaming about me,’ his voice is low and sexy.
‘No,’ I mumble, getting out of bed. My eyes go to the clock. It is past 10 P.M now. I was only asleep for an hour. I go to the mini-bar and grab the bottle he was drinking from. I pour liquor into a glass and gulp.
I pull a face. It is so strong. I am not used to drinking. It is only now that I started to drink wine.
‘What were you dreaming about?’ he asks with an amused look.
‘Since when do you care what I dream about?’ I retort.
‘Since you called my name over four times in your sleep,’ I’m dying of shame after he says that to me. I evade his eyes and take another gulp of his liquor. Zuriel takes the bottle of scotch from me and takes the glass. He pours some in a glass and drinks it.
‘It was just a dream,’ I murmur.
We are silent. It’s not uncomfortable.
‘We are married. What happens now,’ I ask, breaking the silence,
‘Nothing. We stay married,’ he answers. Ara surfaces. She is planning something. I let her guide me. I’m tired of being distant from him. We are married now. I might as well enjoy it while hurting my ex-mate.
