I’m beautiful
Lorraine
Drake opened the revolving door that led to the boutique for me to go in. I sighed as I glanced at the clothes arranged in different racks at different positions.
“We have to get you a nice dress that will make you stand out, then we’ll head to the salon so your hair can be taken care of.” He listed the activities for the evening which I took note of.
I wasn’t looking forward to the party, but I know it was important to Dexter or he wouldn’t have asked me to come along.
I wondered what could be going on with him. Sometimes, he’d show me how sweet he could be and other times, he’d act like we are complete strangers.
Gradually I was getting used to his attitude even though it was difficult.
“Let’s get to it then. We don’t want to waste Dexter’s time.” I said sarcastically.
His lips parted as if he had something to say, then snapped his mouth shut immediately. “Don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
I ignored his words of encouragement and advanced towards the sales rep. She was engrossed with some books in front of her, but when she noticed me, she lifted up her face with a smile.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Good evening, ma’am. What can I help you with?” She asked politely.
“I need a good dress that is classy and appealing. Something that will make me stand out, and have men drool uncontrollably at the sight of me.”
The lady’s eyes widened but she dared not say a word. She moved out of her little cubicle and stood in front of me. “Look no further, ma’am. I have just the perfect dress.”
She took me to a different section and there I saw several beautiful dresses that I wasn’t sure I could afford. I didn’t have any design in mind, but once I see what I want, I’d know.
A gold sequin dress tucked in between two black dresses caught my attention. “Can you get that dress?” I asked her.
She nodded with her polite signature smile and held out the dress to me. I gasped, awestruck at the beauty that was in front of me. The dress was everything I wanted and I couldn’t wait to try it on.
“Is this ‘the dress?'” Her eyes shone with relief.
I nodded vehemently. “It is.” I cried in satisfaction.
I was going to make Dexter regret treating me like trash. Yes I loved him, but the feeling was unrequited and he didn’t even treat me like his woman, so I’d live my life like he didn’t exist until he would be forced to ask for a divorce.
“Alright then. I’ll pack up the dress for you.”
Drake, who I thought had disappeared into thin air because he didn’t want to make me uncomfortable, came towards the desk to make the payments.
“The dress goes for two thousand dollars.” She informed us, swinging her gaze from me to Drake.
My eyes bulged as I gulped. “Two thousand dollars? That’s too much. I think we have to return it.”
Drake burst into laughter, ignoring the deadly glare I passed at him. “You don’t need to be worried about the price, Lorraine.”
There was no way I wouldn’t be worried about the price. I’d never bought a dress that cost more than a hundred dollars since I was acquainted with a thrift shop near my former house.
“I don’t think I can take it. It’s too expensive.” I reiterated firmly, handing the cloth bag back to the sales rep who wore an understanding look.
Drake got over my outburst and pulled me away from the lady. “I’m sorry for my hysterics back there, but my boss, your husband, will fire me if you don’t look stunning tonight. And it will be insulting that his date is looking like a pauper when she’s hooked to a billionaire.”
It didn’t seem like a bad idea to have him ridiculed a bit. I mean, Dexter had an ego that was almost the size of Burj Khalifa and it needed to be crushed, but tonight wasn’t the right time to achieve that.
“You can pay for it. I don’t want to be the reason you lost your job.”

My mouth was agape as I stared at myself in the mirror. The gold sequin dress clung to my body like a second skin, complimenting my dark chestnut hair which was curled and styled to stay at the other side of my neck.
The make-up artist opted to use a red matte lipstick on my lips and though I didn’t agree at first, I’d come to understand why she chose it now because I wasn’t just looking beautiful, I was drop-dead gorgeous.
This was the look I was going for and I got it.
I didn’t know the kind of party Dexter and I were about to attend, but I wasn’t bothered because what I wore could fit any theme..
The dress flowed to the ground, my right thigh exposed because of the slit that stopped close to my upper thigh.
It had a halter strap neckline that collapsed on my bulging breasts. The lower strands of my hair covered just a tiny chunk of my cleavages, leaving the rest to imagination.
Satisfied with my daring appearance, I picked up my small clutch bag and walked out of my room.
It was almost seven so I was right on time for Dexter to pick me up. His head snapped up the moment I entered the living room and the look of surprise didn’t escape my eyes.
He swallowed, his throat bobbing as his eyes stripped me naked. “You are so beautiful, Lorraine.” The words slipped out, causing my cheeks to heat up then he caught himself immediately. “Are you going to wear this out? Men are going to lust after you.” His tone was riddled with fear, but I didn’t care.
I shrugged, catwalking past him as I swayed my hips nonchalantly which had expanded due to my morning workout. “Well, that’s exactly what I’m aiming for.” I glanced at the clock and smirked. “It’s seven already, can we leave now?”
Swiftly, he closed up on me, his woody scent drifting into my nose. “No man would look at your body like that.” He growled.
My smirk widened as I grabbed his dick, earning a guttural groan from him. “We’ll see about that.” I said with confidence and headed out of the house.
