Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 230

During their conversation, the waiter started serving dishes. Although they were at the Soothy City Restaurant, they followed the local custom, with Nachos being the first dish served.

People in Red Pine City liked to eat appetizers before the main course to whet their appetite.

On this cold and cloudy day, eating spicy appetizers couldn’t have been more fitting.

The waiter first poured water for Adam at the head of the table, who promptly passed it to Lumma

on his right, saying, “You drink first.” NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

Lumma replied, “Thank you!”

Simon clicked his tongue. “So, you only see the person on your right and not me on your left.”

Nobody paid Simon any attention.

The dishes began to be served one by one…

All the dishes at Hedges Restaurant were favorites of Lumma and her companions. Although Adam had mentioned that he was learning to tolerate spicy food, Lumma still ordered a couple of mild dishes for him.

Simon and Adam, both locals of Red Pine City, usually preferred lighter flavors.

The first dish served was spicy, which he couldn’t handle. The second was the same. With most of the table filled with heavy, oily, spicy dishes, and only a couple of mild ones, he didn’t know where

to start.

He was upset. “Are these dishes even meant for humans…”

Before Simon could finish his sentence, Adam glanced at him as if saying, “If I can eat it, what’s stopping you?”

In the face of Adam’s imposing aura, Simon didn’t dare to continue his rant, but he also didn’t want to be left out.

He asked the waiter to pour a glass of wine for everyone. “Folks, let’s not just focus on the food. Let’s have a toast first.”

Lumma refused. “Sorry, I’m driving later, so I won’t drink.”

Simon slid a glass of wine toward Lumma. “You won’t be driving, Adam has other drivers. If the drivers can’t, he can call a ride. Come on, let’s drink first.”

Adam took the wine glass in front of Lumma and poured the wine into the trash can. His tone was heavy. “She said she’s not drinking.”

Get Boros

Simon said, “The wine is already opened, and they’re not drinking. Are you suggesting it’s just you

and me?”

Lumma suddenly remembered Laura’s advice. “Mr. Hills can’t drink either because he has a

sensitive stomach.”

Simon asked, “Adam, when did your stomach become sensitive?”

Adam ignored Simon, and he turned to Lumma. “Lumma, how come I didn’t know about his stomach issues? You can’t fool me. We often meet for drinks, and I’ve never seen him have a

problem.”

Lumma replied, “I didn’t manage this before, but from now on, as long as I’m his assistant, unless absolutely necessary, I won’t let him touch a drop of alcohol.”

Her authoritative tone could have misled anyone to think she was Adam’s wife.

Simon believed Lumma’s words weren’t the final say. Simon looked at Adam. “Adam, not only are. you managed by your wife, but also by your assistant. Are you really willing to be controlled by

women?”

“I’m happy to be managed by my wife.” Adam handed his glass to the waiter. “I’ll just have mineral

water.”

Simon was speechless.

Adam continued, “Both Lumma and my wife are looking out for me. From now on, don’t casually invite me for drinks. I need to take care of my stomach.”

Adam said he wanted to take care of his stomach, but he was eating such spicy food?

Only a fool would believe him!

Simon questioned, “Adam, you never used to eat this kind of spicy food, what on earth changed you?”
