Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 184

“It really is you!” As Lumma had guessed, the mastermind was John. She quickly calmed herself. “John, if I’m not mistaken, you just got out of prison a few days ago.”

John laughed wildly as if he’d heard an extremely funny joke. “Lumma, do you know who I am? Do you really think that little incident could’ve imprisoned me for months? To be honest, after you sent me in at noon that day, I was out by dinner. If I hadn’t bothered you before, it was out of respect

for Mr. Hills.”

Lumma admitted she had been negligent and hadn’t followed John’s case. “John, no matter who you are, you can’t be above the law.”

“Ha ha…” John laughed wildly. “My surname is Lynn. My uncle is James, the head of one of the four great families in Red Pine City, the Lynn family. My cousin is Arty, Red Pine City’s top lawyer. In Red Pine City, who dares imprison me?”

“Arty?” Lumma repeated the name.

John turned out to be Arty’s cousin!

Arty was also Luc as’ s agent. Could she ask Arty to solve this crisis?

Many ideas came to Lumma’s mind, but none seemed feasible. For now, she could only take it step by step. “John, does Arty know what you’re doing? As far as I know, Arty is far less arrogant in his

actions than you.”

“How he acts is none of your business!” John approached Lumma and grabbed her chin roughly.

“Lumma, I said crossing me only leads to death. Today I’ll make you wish you were dead.” Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

Lumma slapped his greasy hand away and smiled coldly. “You’re not afraid of punishment under the law. Are you not afraid of Mr. Hills either? I’m Mr. Hills’s assistant. You must know what kind of

man he is. Let me go now, and there’s still room to maneuver.’

Just hearing Adam’s name made John’s scalp tingle with fear.

Of course he was afraid, but he wouldn’t leave himself handles. He’d make Lumma jump from the eighteenth floor like the girl two years ago.

Adam wouldn’t bother investigating why some assistant jumped off a building.

“Lumma, do you think you’re attractive enough for Mr. Hills to do as you please? If he really liked you, how could he have announced his marriage the other day?”

Previously, John had had some scruples about moving against Lumma, but those scruples disappeared the day Adam announced his marriage.

John guessed Adam’s sudden marriage announcement must mean he wanted to tell those around

him not to harbor unrealistic hopes.

“Mr. Lynn, the woman’s husband is calling again.” The man who’d just brought Lumma over

handed her phone to John.

Seeing “Lucas Bergman” on the screen, John said, “You’ve a husband yet seduce Mr. Hills. You little sl ut,

I really underestimated you before.”

Trapped, Lumma could only take a chance. “Even if you’re not afraid of Mr. Hills, do you know who my husband is?”

“No matter who he is, you won’t escape tonight.” As long as Adam didn’t care about this matter, John feared no one. “You want to answer the call? I’ll let you. I’ll let your husband listen as I play you to death.”

John slid the green button, and the call connected instantly. He placed the phone on the coffee table, beside him. Naturally, Lumma couldn’t hear Lu ca s’s voice.

Lumma couldn’t hear but said, “2020.3.21.”

“What the are you muttering about?” John raised his hand and slapped Lumma hard. Five finger marks soon appeared on her fair, smooth face.

Though slapped, Lumma had conveyed what she wanted. The slap was worth it. Now she only hoped Lucas would understand.

With a wave of his hand, John had someone bring a murky liquid. “Drink it. I promise to make you euphoric tonight.”

“John, you don’t even know my husband’s identity. How can you treat me like this without thinking of the consequences?” Lumma took the cup and gently shook it, prolonging the time.
