Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Alexander Deal

“But you’re stronger and better than him and should not let his words or what he said get to you and be brave and stand up to him anytime he stands and threatens to reveal anything.” Marissa encouraged.

Jessie smiled and then got up.

“Let me get you something to drink.” she said, and went to the kitchen to get Marissa something to drink.

Unknown to her, Jessie placed something in her drink and walked towards Marissa and offered her a drink and waited for Marissa to take it.

Marissa collected the drink and drank it while Jessie smiled a grim smile.

A few minutes later, Marissa started feeling dizzy and her vision became blurry. She started to feel lightheaded and soon she was unable to stand.

Jessie watched her closely, a cold smile on her face. She had finally gotten her revenge on Marissa.

“You never should have trusted me.” Jessie said, her voice cold. “You should have known that I was never your friend.”

Marissa could barely make out the words, but she knew that something was wrong. She tried to stand up, but her legs wouldn’t cooperate. She fell to the floor, unable to move.

Marissa’s mind was racing, trying to make sense of what was happening. Was she having a stroke? Was she dying? She couldn’t move, couldn’t speak. All she could do was lie there and try to breathe.

Just then she saw when Jessie walked over to her door and open the door allowing a man who when he came closer, she identified as Jaime Fernado.

He bent over to her and looked at her and smiled.

“Awww… look at you all paralyzed and unable to move your body. This should be enough to make Alexander give up the contract to me because he has to save his beloved woman from dying.” Jaime said, smiling.

Marissa’s heart started racing even faster. She couldn’t believe that Jaime had done this to her. She tried to speak, but no words came out. She could only make a small whimpering sound.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“There’s no need to worry, my dear.” Jaime said, his tone cruel. “I’ve given you something that will make you feel very sleepy. In a few minutes, you’ll fall into a deep sleep, and then you’ll never wake up again. It will be like a peaceful slumber.”

Tears started to roll down Marissa’s cheeks. She was scared, and she didn’t know what to do. She tried to think of a way to escape, but her body wouldn’t cooperate.

“Why are you doing this?” she managed to croak out. “I never did anything to you.”

Jaime chuckled. “That’s where you’re wrong, my dear. You and your fiance took what was mine – the contract with the Switzerland company. You cost me millions of dollars. Now it’s time for you to pay the price.”

“Alexander worked so hard to get the contract and so he deserved the contract. You just want to win and don’t care about the contract.

Jessie, he doesn’t care about you. All he sees you as is a trophy he won from Alexander. Don’t let him win.” she said, still on the floor.

“Shut the fuck up!” Jaime yelled as he slapped her on the floor.

“You don’t know what you’re talking about.” Marissa said, her voice shaking.

“Alexander and I are in love. He cares about me, and I care about him. He’s a good man, and he would never do anything to hurt me. You’re the one who’s trying to win, not him. You’re just trying to take everything away from him, and that’s not right.”

“I don’t care about what you think.” Jaime said, his voice cold. “You’re nothing but a pawn in this game, and I’m going to win.”

Marissa closed her eyes as a single tear rolled down her cheek. She felt defeated and alone, and she didn’t know how she was going to get out of this situation.

She had to think of something, anything, to save herself. But as she lay there, her mind was blank. She couldn’t think of a single thing to do.

Suddenly, she heard a noise outside the door. Footsteps. Someone was coming.

She held her breath, trying to stay quiet. Maybe it was a way out, maybe someone was coming to help her. But as the footsteps grew closer, she realized who it was. It was Alexander.

Marissa heard Alexander’s voice as he spoke to Jaime. “Get away from her.” he said, his voice angry.

“And why should I do that?” Jaime said, sounding amused. “I’m just having a little fun here.”

“You’re not going to hurt her.” Alexander said, his voice firm. “I won’t let you.”

“You’re in no position to make demands.” Jaime said, his tone mocking. “I’m the one in control here, not you.”

Alexander was silent for a moment, and Marissa could almost hear him thinking. Then he spoke again, his voice calm and measured. “You’re right, I can’t make demands. But I can make a deal.”

“A deal?” Jaime said, sounding skeptical. “What kind of deal?”

“I’ll give you the contract.” Alexander said. “But you have to leave Marissa alone. She’s not involved in this, and she shouldn’t be hurt because of what’s happened between us.”

Marissa held her breath, listening to every word. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Alexander was offering the contract to Jaime, the very thing he’d been fighting so hard to protect. But she knew why he was doing it. He was doing it for her. He was putting her safety above everything else. It was a selfless, noble thing to do, and she couldn’t help but feel a rush of love for him.

“You’d give up the contract just like that?” Jaime said, his voice disbelieving. “I find that hard to believe.”

“I mean it.” Alexander said. “You leave Marissa alone, and the contract is yours.”

There was a long silence, and Marissa could almost imagine the look on Jaime’s face. Finally, he spoke.
