Wanna Be with You
Kaivan blinked his eyes. Gathering all the awareness he had, the man slowly sat up and leaned his shoulder against the headboard of the bed. Last night, after taking his medicine, he had fallen into a deep sleep. Even though his condition had improved significantly, the doctor still advised Kaivan to continue taking the medication for the next few weeks.
Glancing at the clock on the nightstand, which showed seven o’clock, Kaivan gradually slid down from the bed. Today, he had planned to start working again as usual. He also felt it was boring to spend too much time in bed.
After cleaning up, Kaivan quickly put on work clothes. However, in the midst of his preparations, his sense of smell unintentionally caught the aroma of a tempting meal. Kaivan thought that Meggy had probably just finished preparing breakfast for him.
Casually walking to the dining room, his eyes caught the presence of someone very familiar. Wearing a thin satin nightgown with flowing hair, Kaivan was very familiar with the figure standing in front of him.
Slightly hesitant, he approached. There was a mix of uncertainty and disbelief overwhelming him. He feared that what he was seeing might be nothing more than a hallucination.
However, when the figure he had been observing turned around, Kaivan was sure that he wasn’t dreaming. Especially when the woman intentionally addressed him.
“Why so quiet? Don’t you want to hug me?”© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
Without saying much, Kaivan approached. He embraced the woman and held her tightly. It was a reflex of the longing that he had been trying to suppress.
“Where have you been? Why did you only find me now?” protested Kaivan. He then loosened the embrace. He kissed Anne’s cheeks one after the other and whispered, “I was almost going crazy waiting for you.”
Anne smiled. After releasing the hug, she guided her husband to sit in a dining chair. Then, she swiftly grabbed a plate and presented the food she had worked hard to prepare.
“You can complain later. For now, you have to taste the food I cooked for you.”
Kaivan agreed. He took the plate Anne offered. Moments later, he started to taste the food that was prepared. He chewed while his gaze remained fixed on his wife’s beautiful face. A mixture of joy, happiness, and emotion stirred within him. After days of longing, finally, fate had brought him back together with Anne.
“How is it? Is the food good?”
Kaivan nodded. There were only a few bites left of the Tortellini he was enjoying. “All the food you cook is always delicious,” he replied.
After finishing breakfast and the orange juice on the table, Kaivan immediately pulled his wife’s body, who had just finished tidying up the table. He positioned her to sit on his lap, embracing her and peppering Anne’s cheeks with affectionate kisses.
“Tell me, when did you arrive? How could I not realize you were here?”
Anne tugged at the corner of her lips, forming a smile. With her hands wrapped around Kaivan’s neck, she responded to her husband’s question.
“I arrived while you were sound asleep last night. Luckily, Mike was there to welcome me. So, your assistant gave me a spare key to enter the room. Otherwise, I might have had to sleep outside.”
Kaivan squinted his eyes.
“Why didn’t you wake me up directly? I’ve been waiting for news from you for a long time. You really made me wait.”
“I knew you were resting. That’s why I let you sleep. The most important thing is that we can meet and be together again now, right?”
Kaivan nodded. Impatiently, he reached for Anne’s chin. He then placed a kiss after such a long time of not touching his wife’s lips. He kissed and savored them slowly, moving deeper and kissing her sensually.
Anne reciprocated the kiss. She tightened her grip around Kaivan’s neck. There was no distance, no matter how small, between the two of them.
However, in the midst of their passionate reunion, they heard a series of knocks on the door. They had to break their kiss. This naturally annoyed Kaivan.
“Who’s visiting so early in the morning!” Kaivan grumbled. Irritated, he stood up from his seat. “If I find out it’s Mike knocking, I swear I’ll fire him,” Kaivan muttered.
The knocking on the door grew louder over time. Kaivan walked quickly, creating thousands of curses in his mind. If it wasn’t something important, he swore to shut the door immediately.
“Why did it take so long to open the door?” said a middle-aged woman’s voice, none other than Laura.
“Mama,” Kaivan muttered. It turned out his mother had been knocking on his bedroom door. If he had known, he wouldn’t have protested. He immediately invited his mother to come in. “Why do you need permission to visit your own child? Do I need to make an appointment with your assistant first?”
Kaivan’s courage instantly waned. Not only him, even his father, Ferdy Maximilian, didn’t dare to argue or engage in a debate with Laura. She was the matriarch of the Maximilian family. Only Kenzi managed to win her heart.
“That’s not what I meant, Mom. It’s just that if I had known that you-”
Before Kaivan could finish speaking, Laura shifted her gaze. Her eyes clearly captured Anne’s presence, standing in the corner of the room with a smile. This naturally caught Laura’s attention, and she approached, unreservedly hugging her daughter-in-law.
“Anne…” he called softly. “Mama misses you, dear.”
Anne returned the embrace from Laura, touched by her mother-in-law’s gesture. “I miss you too, Mama.”
“How are you? Are you alright? Kenzi mentioned that you recently had an accident.”
In Laura’s embrace, Anne nodded. She then invited her mother-in-law to sit on the sofa.
“I’m fine, Ma. As you can see now.”
Laura nodded. Her gaze shifted to Kaivan, who was still standing not far from the sofa.
“Both of you must promise Mama to tell everything when your conditions have improved.”
Kaivan nodded in agreement. He agreed to his mother’s request. “We’ll tell you everything when the time is right, Mama.”
Before long, there was another knock on the bedroom door. Mike intentionally came to pick up Kaivan, reminding him to head to his workspace.
“I’ll leave now, Ma. Remember, don’t take my wife anywhere. I haven’t even had enough time to meet her yet.”
Laura and Anne laughed simultaneously. Then, they let Kaivan walk away from the room.
