Chapter 2 She Said Yes
Chapter 2 She Said Yes
Vivian could not take it. She doesn't want to be anybody's pawn. Her parents will hate her for what she
was about to do but she will not be tied down. She'd rather let her parents hate her for eternity than to
have herself hate her parents her entire life.
She packed up her huge suitcase with clothes and jewelries that she will need and she knew that she
can pawn for later. She even opened her safebox and took all the money in it.
''Dang it,'' Vivian cursed when she found out that all of her bank accounts are frozen. It must be her
parents' doing. They must have anticipated her escape. But she do not care, she already have enough
funds to last her a couple of years.
She got her suitcase and opened slowly, she escaped. Trying her hard not to make any noise. She
might wake the entire household if she makes a mistake.
Her heart was beating loud and she can feel her feet and hands shaking from fear. Vivian doesn't want
to leave her parents but if her freedom will be jeopardize then she have to run away to a place where
they could not reach her.
She opened the backdoor and went out, slowly closing it behind her. She took a deep breath, filling her
lungs with the autumn breeze. It smells like pumpkin spice and dried leaves mixed with cold air.
Vivian walked straight and tried her best not to look back. She keeps on reminding herself that she will
come back eventually, when she do not need to rely on her parents anymore. That way, they will not be
able to dictate her of what she has to do.
She walked past the mini forest of their mansion but she stopped on her tracks when her eyes spotted
someone familiar.
''Violet?!'' She gasped.
Her sister, Violet was equally shock to see her there. Violet was also carrying a large luggage and her
arm was linked to another man's arm.
''Vivian, what are you doing here?'' Violet asked her. She arched her eyebrow and folded her arms on
her chest.
''I should ask you the same question, Violet. What are you doing here?'' She asked trying to intimidate
her sister. ''Are you trying to elope with our gardener's son?''
She recognized the man her sister was with. It was someone who works for them, tendering their
garden and sometimes an errand boy. They grew up with him but their father always reminded the both
of them about the line that separates them from the boy.
''You are about to marry Troy! You can't runaway now!' She hissed. Funny that what she had said also
applies to her current situation. ''You're being unfair to me, Violet.''
''I love Marco.'' Her sister replied. ''Please don't tell father.''
''Please let us leave.'' The man pleaded.
Vivian was angry, how could her sister betray her? How could her sister selfishly agreed to marry her
off with a man she never met and runaway with the man she loved. How could Violet choose someone
she truly love while her on the other hand is stuck in marrying a stranger.
Violet looked at her with tears in her eyes.
''Please Vivian, do this for me.'' Violet pleaded. Her sister tried to reach for her hand. ''I have always
been an obedient daughter, but I already found my happiness and that is Marco. I am not willing to let
him go.''
When she saw tears and sadness in her sister's eyes, realization then hit her. She's been accusing her
sister of selfishness and greed when in reality, it was her who is selfish. It was her who has been
spoiled rotten. How can she not see Violet's suffering. Her sister has been shielding her from troubles
and protecting her all her life.
It's time to repay her dear sister for all her sacrifices.
With a heavy heart, Vivian nodded to Violet.
''I understand.'' Vivian told Violet. ''I will marry Troy in your place. So go now and spend your life with
the man you love.'' ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
Violet hugged her and said, ''Thank you my sister, goodbye.''
