Love Redux: Fated to the Handsome Doctor

Part 01 # My Cheating Husband

Crash!

“How could you, Seno!”

Lara never expected that marriage would only bring pain to her heart.

After she and her driver broke into the director’s room-which was said to be having an important meeting-they were immediately presented with the disgusting sight of her half-naked husband. He was there, cheating, with his secretary, Olivia.

Initially, they were forbidden to enter. However, Lara insisted, and ordered her driver to follow her.

Sure enough, her husband’s room was locked. Lara instructed the big man to break it down and … her suspicion was confirmed. She had long had a bad feeling ever since her husband opened a new business that boosted their economic situation.

Seno, who used to be just an employee, had now become a big boss. Everything changed for the better, but not his behavior.

Seno came home less frequently and often got angry when Lara asked where he had been and why he didn’t come home. He said there was a lot of work. Isn’t this what you wanted? he said. No. Lara never wanted to be rich but unloved by her husband.

She knew that feeling very well. Since childhood, she had felt that way. Wealth would only ruin her household. Seeing them both being intimate there, Lara understood what her husband had actually been doing all this time.

“Hiks …”

She cried unconsciously, after seeing Seno and Olivia, who were unclothed, sneering at her.

They were expecting their child. Yes, Lara was pregnant.

“La-Lara, I can explain,” Seno stammered, trying to calm her down while Olivia, beside him, just stared at her with a happy expression.

A cynical smile was painted on Olivia’s face, one Lara knew very well. Olivia was like that. She was very happy when she saw Lara upset and felt victorious if she had taken what should have been Lara’s, since they were in college.

Lara’s marriage to her husband could not be called a dream marriage of most young couples. They married out of necessity. Lara got pregnant before the sacred bond tied them together. Seno-her boyfriend who had planted the seed of love-was forced to marry her after she asked for his responsibility.

Despite initial objections from their parents, their marriage continued until now. Seno was a romantic man who made a high-ego girl like Lara soften towards him.

Their initial meeting could be considered special. Just a few months before the wedding, Seno had defended Lara during a fight in a student cafeteria.

At that time, Lara was hit by unsavory rumors ….

“Lara Selene is not a good girl!”

That unpleasant label started to stick when she was elected ‘Campus Queen’ and became the target of many men. Lara-who rejected most of their love confessions-became the subject of slander and gossip, so no one wanted to be in a relationship with her anymore.

The men seemed disgusted and avoided Lara as much as they could. Of course, she was heartbroken. She felt unfairly ostracized from campus social life. To her misfortune, her beauty seemed like a curse.

Lara was shunned by other women. Most of them were envious of the perfect looks she possessed. It was said that she was so beautiful that she deserved the title of Campus Queen.

They said Lara looked like a foreigner. They weren’t wrong. Her father was a Caucasian man from Canada. Her mother was Indonesian. It could be said that Lara was of mixed race.

They said she looked like a Greek goddess with captivating looks that attracted many eyes. Unfortunately, her introverted and seemingly cold personality made her the target of slander by the men whose love she rejected.

Until one day, Seno came to her defense, and the seeds of romance began to grow between them. Despite being warned, she was unmoved. She still chose Seno as her partner. Her friend once doubted Seno’s odd behavior. However, she brushed off that suspicion with acceptance.

Seno Adhijaya. The slick-haired and very sweet engineering student managed to win her heart. Until she was willing to give everything, including her virginity. That hot night lasted only a few hours, but her suffering after that incident was very long.

Now, she had to swallow the bitter pill of being betrayed by her own husband while she was pregnant. The pain mixed with sadness engulfed her heart. She nearly fainted upon seeing their affair. Her heart pounded erratically.

Her suspicions were correct. Olivia. That woman. Her rival since long ago, was her husband’s mistress, something she had never known. Those two were so cruel to hurt her by doing such a disgraceful act.

Seno, upon reaching the top of the company, lost his moral compass and started fooling around. Even though he had promised her that they would achieve their dreams together, dreams they hadn’t been able to reach due to financial constraints.

When they were struggling, she faithfully accompanied him; when they succeeded, she was discarded just like that. Seno, such a vile husband!

“Lara. I-I can explain.” Seno still insisted he was not at fault.

Even though the situation was already so disgusting. He wasn’t even wearing clothes, and beside him was a half-naked woman smiling mockingly.

Olivia’s gaze exuded satisfaction upon seeing Lara suffering and in pain.

“How-could you ….”

Lara couldn’t believe that her loyalty was only repaid with betrayal. All this time, her trust and denial of bad omens were in vain. Her husband did indeed have an affair with the secretary whose presence she had rejected in their business.

If only at that time, she had firmly refused her husband’s request, would the situation be different?

“Are you going to divorce him? Let your husband be mine,” Olivia said arrogantly, stepping into Lara’s luxurious home under the pretext of delivering an important letter for her boss.

“Bastard!”

Lara almost slapped her, but she had to restrain herself to avoid shocking and endangering her unborn baby.

“I will never divorce him. Never! Even if you two roll into hell together. I will still keep this marriage!”

Lara slammed the door hard with tears streaming and unimaginable shock.

Bi Yani-her personal maid-pretended not to hear anything. Lara very much appreciated her discretion. She merely reacted modestly, then offered a drink to calm the deeply shaken Lara.

With the remaining strength, despite still feeling the pounding of her heart and unresolved anger, Lara cursed them both.

“Seno. Olivia. Just wait. I will make you pay!”
