Chapter 265 The Driver’s Wife
Chapter 265 The Driver’s Wife
“We find Alan’s wife and daughter!”
Alan was the driver. On that day, Kris had investigated everything about him, and his wife and daughter
vanished on the same day.
“Come to Brone Group and pick me up now!” said Baron.
“Mr. Owen, just let me handle it,” said Kris.
“No, I want to do it myself!” snapped Baron in a firm voice.
“Well then, I am heading to your place now!” said Kris hastily, who dared not to irritate Baron.
After picking up Baron, the car sped up directly to a village called Soil in Cona.
“Alan’s wife is Fay, a woman from another city. She has a distant relative who lives in the Soil Village,
where she hid away with her daughter at that day.”
Kris said cautiously, “When I got her whereabouts, I called you at once. I haven’t got time to check why
she would go to the Soil Village.”
Kris was worried, for he got nothing but the whereabouts of Fay, after five days when Terry got hit.
Baron said blankly, “Good, I got you!”

father-in-law, and he was so worried about him at that time.
Kris was relieved that Baron wasn’t angry at this time.
The Soil Village was in rural areas, and it took them one hour to get there.
The car pulled over before a small courtyard, with a red iron front gate, and a row of tile-roofed houses.
When they walked near to the courtyard, a crash of bark sounded inside.
“Mr. Owen, in these days, Fay lives here,” said Kris.
“Who the hell are you all?”
When they were about to enter the courtyard, an old man with dark skin, sucking a cigarette and sitting
on a bench near the gate, spoke to them with a heavy accent.
“We are here for Fay!”
Kris moved his lips.
“Who is Fay? I dunno!”
The old man replied firmly. Hearing that they were coming for Fay, he was flurried.
Kris frowned and snapped, “You are Andrew, she is your niece, if we don’t know she is here, we won’t
be here!”
“I said no, then is no! This is my house! If you break in, I call cops!”
The old man was raged by Kris. He strode towards Kris, and wanted to push Kris away.
“You old cocky people, come at me, come on!”
Kris felt that he was offended, for as a master of the top four families in Cona, he should be respected,
not offended.
“Stop!”
A reproaching voice sounded from Baron.
“Excuse us, sir! We are here for Fay, just for a few quick questions, would you please let her out?”
Baron said with a smile, and he opened his wallet, taking out a wad of bills and passing it to the old
man. “Sir, this is for you, sorry to disturb you.”
Andrew squinted at the bills, and it looked like there were around four thousand bucks.
Then he took the money without hesitation, and said, squinting at Kris, “See, this how you show your
respects, understand?”
Kris’s face was red because of anger. If it wasn’t Baron, Andrew would have been killed already.
“Come on in!”
Andrew understood they were some rich and powerful people, and Fay could not hide away from them
anymore.
“Fay!”
Andrew exclaimed loudly towards the house after leading them into the courtyard.
“Uncle, what’s happening?”
At this time, a lady of middle age came out, with an apron draping around her. It seemed that she was
cooking.
“They want a conversation with you!” said Andrew, pointing at Baron and his followers.
Obviously, Fay was having an alarmed expression on her face, but it vanished very quickly. He looked
nervously at them, and stammered, “Who, who are you? I don’t know you, why should I talk to you?”
Baron made a few steps forward, looking into her eyes, and said gently, “Madam, don’t worry, just
some quick questions, do as we tell you to, you are going to be fine.”
Baron would never think that this timid woman got something to do with the car accident that Terry was
involved in.
“I got nothing you want.”
Fay turned around and wanted to go away.
But she was stopped by Kris’s bodyguard before she entered the door.
“What do you want from me?”
Fay looked terrified, her hands shaking.
“You don’t know what we will ask you, why did you say you have nothing we want? It sounds like you
know something.”
Kris said coldly.
Fay got into a panic for she was circled by Baron, Kris, and the bodyguards.
At this moment, Andrew opened his mouth, “Fay, they can find here, then they must know you know
something, just tell them what you know!”
Andrew understood that if they didn’t tell Baron and his people the truth, they would have been hurt or
killed.
Fay started to calm down, but still looked reluctant.
Kris wanted to urge but was stopped by Baron’s glimpse.
After a short pause, Fay said, with tears in her eyes, “Come on in with me!”
They got inside and saw a shabby cot.
A little bald girl was lying on it. She looked around 8 years old.
She was skinny, and she felt frightened at the sight of strangers.
“Emma, say hi!” said Fay, gesturing at Baron and others.
And then, she started greeting them timidly.
“Hello!”
“Hi!”
Baron said smilingly.
And he turned to Kris, “Do you have cash in your wallet now?”
“Yes!”
Kris pulled out a wad of bills, around two thousand bucks.
Baron took and passed it to the little girl, and said soothingly and smilingly, “Emma, right? This is for
you, I didn’t get you any gift, take it and buy something for you and your mother.”
Emma declined it at once, “Thank you, sir! I can’t take it!”
Baron felt sad when he saw this poor little girl. Perhaps, it was because he had a daughter.
He said quickly, “Take it, if you don’t, I will feel regretful.”
Emma stole a glance at her mother, who nodded, and she cautiously accepted the money, “Thank you
very much!”
As she ended her voice, all of sudden, her nose was bleeding.
Fay was panic-stricken, and wiped out the blood with tissues immediately, with a tear dropping from her
eyes.
Kris looked grave, and said in a low voice, “It looks like she got leukemia!”
Baron could feel that Emma was pretty weak from her pale face.
“Do you guys come here for the car accident that my husband got into?”
After cleaning the blood, Fay sat aside and asked, with her red eyes looking into Baron.
Baron nodded, “Yes, your husband hit my father-in-law, he is in a coma in the hospital now, and he was
now in a vegetative state and will never be healed.”
Fay was even more frightened after hearing what Baron said.
“Bump!”
She threw herself on Baron’s knees, crying, and said, “We are very sorry! Please forgive us! We can’t
afford the medical charges! We really can’t!”
“My daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, and we were told that if she could not take medical
treatments, she would die.”
“If it wasn’t for that, my husband wouldn’t do it!”
“Someone paid him five hundred thousand dollars to hit your father-in-law. To save Emma, he accepted
the offer. We are so sorry!”
