Chapter 6 The Date

Chapter 6 The Date

Vincent's POV

The whole rest of the morning I would have the house alone. When I woke up I found a note on the

refrigerator.

Hello Honey, your father is looking for a job again and I have work today. Also, I will have a meeting

later so I won't be home till early in the morning. Your dad should be back later tonight. Be good, love

you.

I sighed and looked around the house. I just woke up so I still felt a bit limp. I yawned and stretched. I

went back to my room and went back to sleep. Well, I tried, once I closed my eyes my phone started

ringing. I groaned as I answered it.

"Hello," I say and yawn.

"Were you sleeping?" a voice asked.

"Yes, who's this?" I asked while willing my eyes.

"It's Sammi- Samuel," he said, correcting himself quickly.

I smile sheepishly. "I see you like the nickname," I say.

"Whatever, what are you doing today?" he asked.

"I have a date today, remember?" I say rolling in the covers on my bed.

"Oh...yeah," he said, sounding disappointed.

"Well, I won't see him till seven so you can come over I guess," I say as my eyes start closing.

"Really?! I mean well do your parents mind and you do have a date-" he starts to ramble but I cut him

off.

"Just come," I say and hang up.

I yawn as I text and send my address. Next thing I know I'm asleep. I hear ding-donging then knocking.

Then the knocking turned to banging. I hear my phone ringing. It all stops and I hear a knock at my

window. This house has no stairs so I could climb out my window and step on to the ground. I groan

and open the window. My vision is blurry.

"You tell me to come over and you sleep and forget!" a voice said.

I could sorta see a figure. I was way too sleepy for this. "Who are you and what do you want?" I ask

sheepishly.

"Vincent let me in." the voice said. I get in the figure's face to see better and it jumps back. "Wha-What

are you doing?" the voice asked.

My vision becomes a bit clearer. I see a red face and the figure is male. I squint my eyes.

"Oh, Sammie," I say now that I can see.

"Took you long enough," he said, rolling his eyes, then walking away to the door I assumed.

I walk to the door and unlock it. He comes in like it's his house. "Rude," I say as he walks past me. He

stuck his tongue out, then turned away from me.

I still didn't shower or fix my hair and I realized I was still shirtless in boxers. I didn't notice until Sammie

kept on staring at me flushed. I went and took a shower. I found a shirt and some sweats. I brushed my

teeth. I left my hair the way it was because I forgot. I went into the living room but he wasn't there.

"Your room is dirty," he said and I ran straight to my room.

I glared at him. "It's not that bad," I say flopping down on my bed next to him.

We decided to play New Super Mario Bros on the Wii. Yeah, old game but I like it and the Wii U can

wait.

"Hey don't throw me into the lava!" Sammie yelled.

I smirked and picked him up and did it again. He almost threw the Wii remote.

"Mad or nah?" I asked and he rolled his eyes.

He comes back in a bubble but I ignore him.

"Vincent let me out," he said trying to keep calm.

"No, I don't think I will," I said running farther away from his bubble.

"Vincent!" he yelled, making me jump and I jumped in the game, into the lava.

"Look what you did!" I yelled and he grinned.

"Karma's like a rubber band," he said playing with the one he found. "It can stretch so far..." he said,

stretching it. "Before it comes back and smacks you in the face," he said and the rubber band hit my

face and fell in my lap.

I looked up at him and glared. He only smiled.

"That's when I want to be there and laugh at your face," he said as we started the level again.

"I hope karma slaps you in your face before I do then," I say starting the game and staying far away

from him.

He only laughs and chases after me. After playing, we went into the kitchen for some snacks. It was

about four-thirty now.

"What is your parents up to?" I ask before drinking the can of sprite.

"My mom is at work," he said, opening his orange soda.

"And your dad?" I asked, placing my can down.

"I don't know," he said.

I looked at him and said no more. We turned on the TV but there was nothing good on.

"I got an idea," Sammie said standing up then he left the couch and went into the kitchen. He came

back with peanut butter.

"What is that for?" I ask with an eyebrow up.

"A game," he said walking closer.

"What kind of game?" I asked unsurely.

"You'll see," he said flopping down on the couch. "Okay so this is how it goes, every lie you tell you put

peanut butter in your mouth and keep it in there until the other person lies," he said opening the peanut

butter. "We'll take turns asking questions," he said.

"Can I bend the truth a bit?" I asked.

"Fine but if I tell that you're bending the truth you have to put two spoonfuls in your mouth," he said.

"Fine," I said.

"I'll go first, Why do you like Mason?" he asked.

"Why do you want to know?" I asked.

"I asked the question you answer," he said.

"Well he's a nice guy and-" I started to say but Sammie put a spoonful of peanut butter in my mouth.

"What the heck!" I barely could say with the peanut butter in my mouth.

"Lies," he said shaking his head.

"Ass," I said.

"Thank you, now you go," he said.

I slant my eyes at him. So he wants to play like that. I'll do the same. "Why do you care about my

feelings for Mason?" I asked.

His face twitched and he looked annoyed. He put peanut butter in his mouth.

"Hey! You didn't answer!" I yelled.

"So." he tried saying.

"Fine, I'll ask another question then," I said leaning forward. "Who's Alexis?" I asked.

He smirked and leaned forward. "Why do you want to know?" he asked.

"I'm done," I say standing up leaving the room as he laughs. I wash my mouth out. My phone starts

ringing and it's from dad. "Hey?" I said.

"Are things alright?" he asked.

"Yeah," I said as I heard the sink in the kitchen turn on.

"Alright just checking, bye kiddo," he said.

"Bye, dad," I say and hang up. I look up and Sammie's in the doorway.

"Daddy's boy," he said, smirking.

"Now that's a new one," I say walking past him into my room.

An hour past and Sammie went home before his mom got off work which was at six. So I decided to

sleep a bit then wake up and get ready for my date. When I did wake up dad was home and

comfortable on the couch.

"What time is it?" I ask, scaring him.

"Vincent?! You scared the bejesus out of me," he said.

"Sorry," I said, rubbing my head.

"It's six-forty," he said, which made my eyes go wide.

I ran to my room, I looked for something good to wear. Then I fixed my hair to make it look good. I ran

to the bathroom to check myself in the mirror and the doorbell rang. He's a bit early, isn't he? I run

down the stairs and answer the door before dad does.

"Hey," Mason said grinning.

"Hi," I said then turned to dad on the couch. "I'll be out," I said.

"Be back at nine," he said biting into a cookie.

"Okay bye," I said, closing the door behind me.

"You look nice," he said.

"Thank you, so do you," I say as we walk to his car. He opens the door for me. "Thank you," I say.

The whole ride in the car was quiet. It was a bit awkward. When we made it to the movie theater. We

saw a Hunger game movie. Honestly, I'm not into it but Mason said it would be good so I tried it. Once it

was over we still had leftover popcorn. I ate it in the car.

"So how did you like it?" he asked while grinning.

"It was fine I guess," I said shrugging.

He frowned. "I'm sorry the date was boring," he said.

I looked at him and I felt a bit sad. He spent his money on me so we could have fun. And here I am

ruining the spirit.

"I'm sorry," I said as we pulled up to my house.

"No it's fine, maybe next time I can do better," he said grinning, making me feel a bit better.

I got out of the car and so did he. I got to the steps then the door.

"Vincent?" he said and I turned around. He kissed me and I kissed back. Then we pulled back. "Good

night," he said smiling.

"Good night," I said. I opened the door and watched him go into his car.

Then I went inside. Dad was asleep on the couch. I almost danced around the house. I sighed and

smiled. I got a cover out of the closet then put it on dad. I took a shower then went straight to my bed.

My phone vibrated. I thought it was Mason but it wasn't. It was Sammie.

I smiled then went to sleep dreaming about Mason and throwing Sammie's character in lava.

"Hahaha, brat," I said smiling in my sleep.
