Chapter 31
Sofia Andrew
I can't believe that this woman can't open the door for me when I need her, but she wants me to when she needs me. What is she even doing? After a few minutes of knocking, she finally opened the door. "Finally! We need to talk."
"For God's sake, Sofia, have you seen the time? Do you know how irritating it is to hear your knocks?" She exclaimed in irritation.
"Now you know how it feels. Wake yourself up, and I need to tell you something."
"Wait, you know that my brain won't function without coffee."
"Then go get a pitcher because I need your full attention, Amelia."
"God, who is knocking at this time?" I heard a familiar voice from inside, and I was stunned to see Isaac standing there with only his boxers on. "Woah!" I exclaimed because Amelia's right. What's inside is better than the suit.
"Boss!" Isaac greeted me in shock. "It's six in the morning."
"And you're in your underwear," I deadpanned, and he froze before he looked down on himself and back at me.Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
He covered himself with a sly smile. "I'll go back inside." He turned, and I saw his back.
Well, I am married, but I am not blind.
"Woah, Amelia," I repeated to her.
Amelia looked proud and crossed her arms. "I told you he's gifted."
"Oh, I can see that. Anyone who will see what's underneath can tell that he can compete with Angel."
She looked at me and lifted an eyebrow.
"Angel? How can you tell when you haven't seen him?" She asked, then beamed. "Or have you eaten that delicacy?!" "No!" I quickly responded, and her shoulders dropped. "But almost."
She jumped a few times. "What?! Tell me the details!"
I pulled her to the sofa, and I sat us down. "Not now, Amelia; we need to talk."
She gave me a blank look before she sighed. "Okay. What is more important than you almost eating Angel?" "Elisa and her lies."
She frowned at me. "Okay? What does she have to do with you almost eating your delicacy of a husband?"
"Do you still remember the National Team's party?"
s if remembering, she made a face. "Of course, how could I not? I broke up with my ex because I saw him with another; you cried over Angel, and a week later, Kevin spread a rumor about you. That was such an unforgettable night." "Yes, well, I did not mention one thing to you," I told her with hesitation.
She looked upset at that. "You've been hiding things from me lately, Sofia. Me, your supposed best friend, you tell everything to."
"Amelia, will you shut up and let me tell you, or will you listen to me?"
"Okay, tell me."
I got comfortable on her sofa before I started. "Angel believed that he was the one who took Elisa's virginity."
"Believed? The only thing he can say that is if he did, Sofia."
"Angel apparently got drunk so he can't remember anything. Something hurt him so he wanted to forget, but he didn't tell me. He just woke up the next day with Elisa and they were both naked, and the witch told him that he took her virginity." "That doesn't mean that they slept together. Another thing is that it's impossible for him to not remember anything, like he's got amnesia."
"But it's not true. They did not sleep together, and I'm sure of that."
"How can you say for sure, Sofia? And why are you like that? What did you do?"
I bit my lip and took a deep breath. "After we saw Elisa and Angel kissing and you went looking for your cheating boyfriend, I kind of drank more than I needed and my body wasn't able to take it, so I got an attack, and Angel showed up. We started arguing, and he kissed me." "And I responded to it. The point is, because I wasn't feeling well, he helped me up to a room before I embarrassed myself. The thing is, I can't understand why he did that. And then, because I wasn't in my right mind, we ended up laying on a bed."
"Wait, are you telling me that you slept together? You spent the night with Angel, and you didn't tell me? I believed you were a virgin!" She exclaimed in shock before smacking my shoulder.
"Yes and no. I mean, it's not what you think. I didn't sleep with him. We just slept beside each other, and when I woke up, the room was a mess because maybe a horny couple used it before us. So there is no way that he slept with Elisa because he was with me the whole night." "She's really a bitch. How can Angel be with that kind of person?"
"What's important is they did not sleep together like Angel thought, and I need him to remember that so I can destroy that woman. I hate her with every fiber of my being."
She looked confused at my reaction. "Woah, why the sudden surge of anger? I knew you hated her, but why do you look so angry now?"
"Angel told me what I did for Elisa to miscarry, and I will hate myself as well, Amelia. That woman deserves a best-actress award for all the lies she told Angel just so she can manipulate him."
"Let's see if I understood you. Angel told you about what happened the night he apparently slept with Elisa. Did he also tell you what that witch invented that you told her? And if he did, why didn't you tell him the truth?!" She said in frustration and held up her hands. "Because he won't believe me! And I can see how it affects him, Amelia. For five years, he believed that his girlfriend was the innocent virgin she slept with, the mother of his unborn child, and I was the ruthless witch in their story."
"How did you end up almost sleeping with him before talking about Elisa?"
"When he was just supposed to drop me off, things got a bit heated up, but I stopped him because I didn't want it. I invited him to sleep over, and he slept in your room."
Amelia groaned, clearly pissed. "In my room? Out of all the rooms, you gave him mine?"
"Are you serious, Amelia? Are we going to fight over a room?"
"He could have slept in yours." She whined, and I glared at her. "Girl, use your brain sometimes. He mentioned those things because he's starting to doubt Elisa and giving you the benefit of the doubt."
"I can't believe he thought I slept with Kevin and did not bother asking me. He just blindly believed him like he always does."
"Okay. Let's add the rumor that jerk spread about your sleeping with him to that night full of horrors."
"Amelia, I need proof to remove Angel's blindness and finally see the truth. I want to destroy that woman, and she won't be able to get back up again."
"My friend, that is the hardest part. First, we need to know if she was really pregnant, and if she was, we have to find out who's the father next."
"Angel believes that the baby is the product of that night, and if that night didn't happen, then there's no way for it to be his."
"But just in case you're forgetting, they are a couple, Sofia. It's not impossible that something happened to them again."
I pursed my lips in realization. "That's true. Maybe we just need to prove to him that he didn't take her virginity. He must know that she's not as pure and innocent as he thought he was."
"The only way is for you to tell him what really happened that night, Sofia," Amelia advised me.
"I told you that he won't believe me, and he will even blame me for not telling him sooner."
"You know I always have your back, girl."
"Let's see if there was an abortion, it has to be in a registered place, right?"
"Will you have me check every clinic in the country for a case that was five years ago?" She asked in disbelief.
"It's a good thing we have experts in this field, right? And we even have a skilled engineer in your room."
"Sofia, you are a great hacker yourself. Need I remind you that you own a technology company that created a security system?"
"True, but I'm kind of busy right now, and even if you sleep with him, he's still my employee."
Amelia shook her head. "The poor man is buried neck-deep with the works you gave. He works in a company, Alexis, Angel, and now he has to find information about the best actress. It's a good thing the amount of zeroes he sees are worth it." "Call him, and we have to get started. Don't even mention that jerk. He called me yesterday to remind me of his threat."
"Two waste of spaces around you and Angel. You two must have done something terrible in your past life, and now you're paying for it."
"And I agree wholeheartedly, but I am more terrible than them combined, and they will see that."
"And what has Angel got to say about all this?"
"I think he's having an inner battle with himself. He's torn between believing me or Elisa, but he told me he wants to believe me, and there has to be no more lies between us."
"That's great. No more lies, and yet, here you are telling me the truth you're hiding from him," she told me sarcastically.
"Stop being sarcastic and just help me destroy her. That witch doesn't have any idea who she's messing with."
"You are complaining that Angel isn't listening to you, but you're the same, Sofia. You know I'll always help you, but it's Sunday and I want to rest, plus, I have a God-like man waiting for me in my room, so go home now. By the way, where is he now?" "I left him sleeping, or so I thought."
"Well then, my friend, go back there, where a tempting man is in your house, instead of talking about a bitch named Elisa."
I rolled my eyes at her, and she pulled me up. "Sometimes, I think you really don't understand me."
"Of course I do. We will destroy the actress who made the love of your life hate you, but again, it's Sunday and it's seven in the morning at that. Here you are talking to me about problems while you have your husband next door, so tell me, who's the problem?" "Amelia, I won't run to Angel's arms just because she decided to believe me."
"I'm just saying that you should make use of what he's willing to give you now. It doesn't have to happen now. And don't forget that you have so many advantages that that snake."
"I hate it when you are smarter than me."
"You are smarter than me in other things, my dear, but when it comes to men, I am the expert." She teased me with a wink and escorted me out of her apartment.
