Zane comforted Yanis and then headed downstairs to have Aunt Alice prepare some porridge.
"Mr. Lawrence, is Mrs. Lawrence not feeling well?" Aunt Alice asked.
Zane responded, "She vomited in the morning and didn't sleep well last night."
Upon hearing this, Aunt Alice hesitated and inquired, "Has Mrs. Lawrence missed her period this
month?"
Only Bonnie and Phoebe knew about Yanis's pregnancy. This was why Aunt Alice guessed this way.
Zane had no intention of keeping it a secret and nodded in confirmation in a low voice.
"In that case, why don't you take Mrs. Lawrence to the hospital for a check-up? In case this…"
Aunt Alice didn't finish her sentence but left it to implication.
Zane didn't avoid the topic. "Yanis is pregnant and not feeling well."
Upon hearing this, Aunt Alice smiled and responded, "Let me prepare something with a bit of flavor for
Mrs. Lawrence to eat."
Zane didn't fully understand the significance, but Aunt Alice's experience prompted him to nod,
signaling her to proceed.
After arranging for Aunt Alice to prepare food for Yanis, Zane called Albi and informed him that he
wouldn't be going to the company today. He mentioned that if there were any issues, Albi could contact
Dylan.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Albi's response carried a tone of complaint, "Mr. Lawrence, why don't you just hand the company over
to me?"
"That's a question for Yanis."
Albi suddenly remembered that all of Zane's shares and properties were under someone else's name
now.
"In that case, I won't bother you."
Zane, as if remembering something, stopped Albi before he could hang up, "If he's not available, then
find me."
Dylan had been going through a tough time recently due to the situation with Jo. If it weren't for Lisa
being pushed to a certain point, she wouldn't have given Jo to Dylan willingly. Now that the situation
was resolved, Lisa didn't want to leave Jo behind.
Lisa was skilled at flip-flopping her stance, and she wanted Jo to stay with Zane if she had to stay
within the Lawrence family. She didn't want Jo to be with Dylan and Rachel.
Lisa had been calling Zane, but he had been avoiding her, and he hadn't answered her calls. She
thought that the matter had ended. However, what surprised Zane was that Lisa brought Jo to his
doorstep at eight o'clock.
Zane had just settled Yanis down to sleep when Aunt Gloria softly knocked on the door.
Glancing at the sleeping Yanis, Zane got up and walked to the door. "What's going on?"
Aunt Gloria, aware that Yanis was asleep, lowered her voice. "Mr. Lawrence, there's a Miss Lisa with a
little boy outside. She says she wants to see you."
Zane knew who was at the door upon hearing this. He looked back at Yanis and then walked out of the
room, closing the door behind him. He followed Aunt Gloria downstairs.
After Aunt Alice had brought Lisa in without Zane's permission last time, this time she stood at the door
like a sentry, preventing Lisa from entering. It was only when Zane appeared that Aunt Alice moved
aside to let Lisa and Jo in.
As soon as Lisa entered, she made a beeline for Zane with Jo in tow. "Zane."
Lisa walked up to Zane and whispered his name.
Zane looked at Lisa and his voice was indifferent. "What do you want?"
Lisa had grown impatient over time, and she knew what kind of person Zane was. She had come over
to discuss matters with him.
"Zane, how did you think about what I told you last time?" Lisa didn't sit down but stood before Zane
with Jo.
Zane's expression remained calm, but his tone was clear. "Wasn't my response clear enough?"
The implication was evident; Zane wasn't willing to let Jo stay with him. If Yanis wasn't pregnant, he
might have considered it. But with Yanis being pregnant, his attention was entirely focused on her, and
he had no room for anyone else.
Moreover, after Jo had pushed Yanis, Zane didn't even want to think about it.
Seeing Zane's unwavering stance, Lisa's urgency grew. "Zane, can't you consider our past relationship
and do it for my sake? Do it for your mother?"
"Neither of those reasons holds weight. Either you take him and figure out how to leave here, or you
hand him over to Uncle Dylan."
Zane interrupted Lisa before she could finish her sentence.
Not giving up, Lisa attempted to persuade him. "Zane, can't you make an exception for me?"
Zane's attitude was clear. "If there's nothing else, you should leave."
After saying this, Zane stood up and was about to go upstairs.
"Zane! Can't you grant my request? Can't you let Jo stay by your side?"
Lisa's voice grew louder as Zane turned to leave. Aunt Alice and Aunt Gloria came forward and helped
Lisa up from the ground.
"Miss Lisa, it's better for you to go. Mr. Lawrence's decision won't change."
Now, Lisa didn't have the same determination she had when she first returned. With Dylan pressing her
from all sides, she felt trapped.
In the end, Aunt Alice and Aunt Gloria saw Lisa off. Standing outside D-king Castle, Lisa had a pale
complexion. She stared at the closed door with hollow eyes, tears streaming uncontrollably.
Jo looked at Lisa. "Don't you want me anymore?"
This was the first thing Jo said today, from the time he came from the hotel until now.
Lisa was taken aback by Jo's words. Before she could respond, Jo continued, "Are you trying to give
me away? Give me to someone else?"
