Chapter 3119
Ivy nodded. "A little."

She chuckled. "I'm not that nervous. I will stand quietly. I promise not to say a word!"
"Why would you be in my office when I have a meeting?" Lucas felt like Ivy did not know what it meant to be someone's assistant.
"It's not an important meeting, right? Caspian said you don't want to accept the investment so why can't I stay and listen? Maybe I can help you if they try to trick you."
"If they try to trick me, do you really think that I wouldn't notice?" Lucas retorted.
Ivy cleared her throat. "That's not what I meant. What I mean is... my being here won't get in your way so why not let me stay and listen? I want to broaden my horizons! I promise not to make a single sound." Lucas studied her for a few moments, contemplating if he should let her stay.
"Mr. Woods, would you like some tea? I bought a can of floral tea last night. Let me brew a cup for you to taste!" Ivy took out a can of floral tea from the display cabinet nearby and picked up his glass without waiting for him to respond before heading to the tea station to make tea for him.
Lucas found himself at a loss for words.
Ever since Ivy had entered his life, he had had the strange feeling that Ivy was his master, and he was just a pawn for her to manipulate at her whim.
Naturally, he could see that everything Ivy did was for his own good; cleaning the house and cooking for him were not things anyone would do for free, after all. Thus, it was challenging for him to be harsh with her.
Ultimately, Ivy had not come to seek refuge with him because she did not have anywhere else to go.
In a short while, Ivy brought the brewed tea and placed it on Lucas's desk.
"Mr. Woods, try it," Ivy looked at him with anticipation.
Lucas glanced at the chrysanthemum flower floating on the water. "Do you want me to drink boiling hot water now?"
Ivy scooped a small spoonful of
floral tea, blew on it, and then pressed it to Lucas's lips, saying, "Take a small sip; it won't burn you! I added locust flower honey to it so it's definitely delicious."
"I don't like sweet things," Lucas replied.
"It's not sugary. This honey is delicious! You won't gain weight from it. Just try a little!" Ivy insisted.
Unable to resist her, Lucas sipped the tea from the spoon.
Just then, the office door was pushed open, and Caspian brought in the investors.
They were stunned by the scene they witnessed.
Lucas stood up from his chair when he saw the three people at the door.
Ivy also turned her head to look and was immediately captivated by the beautiful woman standing next to Caspian.
The woman had long flowing curls
and was wearing a tight-fitting white dress; her features were so refined that she looked like a leading
actress straight out of a movie.
Standing next to her was a man wearing glasses, who appeared to be her assistant.
"Are these two the investors?" Ivy thought.
As Ivy studied the beautiful woman, the beauty was also sizing her up.
Caspian smiled and addressed the woman: Ms. Feake, this is our company's CEO, Lucas Woods." Then, he introduced Lucas to her: "Lucas, this is Ms. Feake. She is here to negotiate on behalf of her father."
