Chapter 309 DNA Test

Upon hearing Lysander address him as Mr. Thorne, Howard seemingly had something to say yet was hesitant to do so.

Finally, he let out a sigh and said, “Have a seat.”

In the private room was a large round table meant for ten, yet there were only three of them.

Molly was in a wheelchair, so she didn’t require a chair.

Howard pulled out two chairs beside Molly, gesturing for Lysander to come over and sit beside the latter. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

After some thought, Lysander chose a seat across from them. She pulled out a chair and sat down.

Molly and Howard exchanged a glance, a faint shimmer of tears in their eyes. Howard gently wrapped his arm around her shoulder and whispered a few words of comfort.

“Have you ordered, Mr. and Mrs. Thome?”

“No. We weren’t sure about your preferences, so we thought we’d wait for you to arrive before ordering. Feel free to order anything you like, Lysa. It’s our treat,” Howard said.

Lysander lowered her head and flipped through the menu.

Although that was a vegetarian restaurant next to a temple and served only vegetarian dishes, there was a wide variety. Naturally, the prices were also quite steep.

She rang the bell and called the service staff, ordering a couple of dishes at random.

“You like bean curd?” Molly asked.

“It’s passable.”

“I noticed that of the three dishes you ordered, two of them were bean curds.”

“You didn’t invite me over today for a meal, so I just ordered randomly, Mr. and Mrs. Thorne,”

Tears instantly escaped Molly’s eyes. In a choked voice, she said, “How could you order randomly? It our first meal together. Howard, order some more. Lysa loves bean curd, so see what other bean curd dishes they have and order them all.”

“Sure, sure.”

Wiping away his tears as well, Howard opened the door to the private room and stepped out.

There was a coffee pot on the table. Lysander stood up and poured Molly a cup, placing it before her.

Molly took it excitedly with both hands, reining in her emotions and thanking her endlessly.

Lysander also noured a cun for herself and savored it slowly.

Sniffling slightly, Molly asked with a soft sigh, “Lysa, do you enjoy d inking coffee?”

“It’s passable.”

“What do you like, then? Black coffee or latte? Have your dad go out and buy it.”

“Mrs. Thorne, it’s just a piece of red string. It doesn’t prove anything,” Lysander said.

Molly felt a bit awkward and chuckled dryly. Then, she said apologetically, “Lysa, there’s something I want to tell you. Please, don’t be upset, okay?”

“That depends on the matter.”

“Our daughter was missing for twenty-four years. That day, when we saw the red string, your father… I mean, Mr. Thorne and I were so excited that we couldn’t sleep the entire night. But to confirm it, we took your hair and that of mine and your father… I mean, Mr. Thorne, for a DNA test.

Lysander sipped her coffee with her eyes lowered. “The results of a DNA test won’t be out that fast.”

“That’s true. We pulled some strings to have it done as quickly as possible. By tomorrow afternoon, we should have the results.”

“Where did you get my hair?”

Molly went silent.

Somewhat conflicted, she bit her lip and said nothing

“The first time we met was downstairs at my place when Lysanne accompanied you to log at that time, you hadn’t seen the red thread yet. Nor would the idea of conducting a DNA crossed your mind. Our second encounter was at Gute Temple previously, but I don’t re hair behind then.”

“We stole it…”

“Stole it?”

“It can’t exactly be considered stealing.” Molly felt somewhat ashamed, her voice growing incre softer. “We visited the house where you once lived with Josiah.”

Lysander nodded. “But, your daughter, Lysanne, also lived there. How can you be sure that the hai sent for the test was mine and not hers?”
