Chapter
Ivy dug her nails into her palms, gritting her teeth. She forced a smile at Lora and replied, "Thank you, Miss Davis... that's so kind of you. However, Ryan has been looking for the best doctor for me... I'm sure he will arrange one for me soon. Thanks for the concern though."
Lora nodded. She already knew that Ivy would reject her offer, but the way Ivy's face drained of colour when she mentioned treating her legs made Lora squint her eyes in suspicion.
Why did she become anxious when Lora mentioned Introducing her to experts? It was also strange that Ryan had failed to find an expert to treat Ivy after all these years. The man could move mountains for lvy, so why did it take so long to find the right treatment for her? Could it be there was more to Ivy's condition than meets the eye?
Lora shook her head and thought, 'Why am I even thinking about this? It doesn't have anything to do with
me.'
She didn't want to have anything to do with Ryan or Ivy ever again. Being entangled with the two always caused her trouble and she was determined to avoid them like the plague.Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Jason cleared his throat and broke the tension in the air. He stared at Ryan and said, "Good afternoon, Mr Kingsley. I didn't expect to see you here with your fiancee. I brought my girlfriend over to teach her how to play golf... since she's going to be my wife, I want her to learn all there is to know about me. It's also a good way to spend time together."
Ryan narrowed his eyes at Jason and the air around him turned cold. Was he showing off that he was on a date with Lora?
"It seems Miss Davis has a lot of free time. Shouldn't you be working on strengthening your footing in the company? If you have time to date like this, I'm afraid you will be dethroned before you know it," Ryan sneered, his cold eyes falling on Lora.
For some reason, Ryan didn't like Jason at all. There was something about him that told him he wasn't as simple as he looked. The man came out of nowhere and yet, there was nothing anyone knew about him.
"That's none of your concern, Mr Kingsley," Lora responded curtly.
Jason chuckled to ease the tension that had risen once again. He said, "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. I think a break or two is ok, not so, Mr Kingsley? Speaking of breaks, I'm yet to fulfil my promise to treat you to dinner as a thank-you for taking Lora to the hospital last time... please, let me take this opportunity to invite you and your fiancee to dinner."
Ryan's jaw clenched, his eyes showing the anger he was trying so hard to keep hidden. Without looking at Jason, he replied coldly, "No need."
He grabbed Ivy's wheelchair and pushed her out of the resting area, intense anger oozing off him in
waves.
On the other side, Diane Kingsley, Ryan's younger sister, rushed to a convenience store to buy a sanitary pad.
Chapter 43- Stalker
She had just moved to her apartment after staying in the hotel for a few days and hadn't bought enough supplies yet.
Knowing her stepmother and stepsister were at the mansion, Diane didn't want to go back and run into them. The duo always caused trouble for her...
However, she didn't expect her period to come this early. It was an emergency, hence she rushed to the store... there was nothing worse than having messy underwear.
Diane walked down the aisle and grabbed a pack. As she turned to go and pay for it, she bumped into a hard wall.
"Ouch," Diane rubbed her nose before looking up. However, her eyes widened when she saw the "wall" she had bumped into. Pointing a finger at the man, she exclaimed, "You! What are you doing here? Are you stalking me?"
The man was none other than, Aiden Davis, Lora's uncle. When he heard Diane's accusation, he arched an eyebrow and remarked, "Seriously? What makes you think I'm stalking you?
Diane scoffed, "Isn't it obvious? You followed me here, didn't you? Don't tell me you live around here." "do live nearby," Aiden replied, looking down at the woman. He raised the pack of milk in his hand and said, "I came to get some milk... how is that stalking?" "I don't believe you, Mr... you're a pervert! Why would you come to the store to only buy one pack of milk?" Diane questioned, glaring at Aiden.
Aiden arched an eyebrow and said, "Just like you came to the store to buy one pack of pads?"
Diane's face turned pink. "Huh... you see, you've been watching me! Let me warn you. If I catch you again, I'll report you to the police. Just because you're handsome and have cute dimples, doesn't mean I'll let you get away with it!"
Aiden chuckled in amusement but Diane threw him a glare before sidestepping him and walking to the till.
However, on her way home, Diane noticed that Aiden was following her. Her heart jumped to her throat and her stomach churned from fear.
'Could he be a serial killer and I'm his target?' She asked in her mind, quickening her footsteps. The sun had fallen and only streetlights lightened up the area.
As she neared her apartment building, Diane couldn't help but yell at Aiden, "Why are you still following me? You're now doing it openly, huh? Just you wait... I'm going to call the police once I get to my phone!"
Her heart was pounding as she made hurried steps while keeping an eye on Aiden, making sure he wasn't chasing after her.
To Diane's horror, when she entered the elevator, Aiden walked in with her. She eyed him warily, her heart pounding erratically.
"I'm warning you, if you do anything to me, my brother will deal with you. He's the most powerful man in the city," Diane said.
However, Aiden didn't reply. He didn't press on any floor and Diane's suspicions were confirmed. 'Why did I leave my phone? Is he going to force himself into my apartment and do crazy things to me?' 2/3

When they reached the last floor, Diane stormed out of the elevator and whipped around, ready to give Aiden a piece of her mind.
However, Aiden ignored Diane and walked ahead in the hallway.
"Hey! Where do you think you're going? I'm calling security...." Diane trailed when Aiden walked to the apartment next to hers and keyed in his passcode.
'He lives here?' Diane thought and blushed profusely. 'How embarrassing!'
