Chapter 35 A Woman Full Of Needles
She was surrounded on three sides, so Calista was finally caught. But strangely enough, she wasn't afraid at all because she still had a trump card in her hands - Jarrett's younger brother. In fact, she had way too many trump cards.
She gripped one needle between her two fingers, turned and saw Jarrett's murderous face! "Go ahead and run! Aren't you really good at running?"
Jarrett held up the gun to shoot her legs. Calista curled her lips slightly and said, "If I were you, I wouldn't do that."
Jarrett narrowed his eyes and looked with a face of disbelief at Calista. This voice! So this woman was...
Calista removed her mask.
Jarrett suddenly felt his breathing become heavy. He'd never thought he would land in Calista's hands! What a terrible irony!
But the next minute, Jarrett pressed the gun against her head, his eyes blazing with fury! "Why did you do this!"
Jarrett never thought that even though he was extremely angry, he also felt hurt and bitter at the same time, and this strange feeling in his heart made him unable to just kill her with one shot.
Calista looked at him in the eye fearlessly. "I'm helping you...there's a traitor in the Sinclair family. Even if you get your hands on this batch of firearms, after a month, your second uncle will take these to revolt against the family and kill a lot of people, so I'm just sending these firearms to where they rightfully belong. What did I do wrong?"
She wasn't lying - the shootout within the family even reached the city and caused the death of a few dozen people.
Her original intention was to make life difficult for Jarrett, but it wasn't a bad idea to save some people at the same time.
Jarrett should have asked something like 'How did you know' or even just simply not believe her words, but what Calista did not expect was that Jarrett only whacked her head twice with the gun and asked angrily, "Then why did you try to harm me just now?!"
Since she knew everything, then didn't she know that if he were arrested tonight, he might not land in jail but it would ruin the rest of his life? Why did she have to harm him like that?
Calista threw him a look and then laughed wickedly. "I just don't like your face, ok?"
This answer made Jarrett bloodshot from fury!
He gripped the gun even harder and used his other hand to pull Calista's collar and pulled her right in front of him, forcing her to stare right into his eyes.
"You were the one who told Wyatt about tonight's operation, right? How did you know my plan? How do you know my second uncle is going to turn on me? You'd better explain yourself now, otherwise I'll kill you!" Calista looked icily at Jarrett whose face was mere inches away from her face. "Why don't you try killing me then?"
"You!"
Calista stared back as fiercely! Looks like Jarrett still hasn't figured out what's the situation now, she thought to herself. At this time he needed information from her, so he should have the attitude of someone who needs something. She knew that he wouldn't kill her because she knew about the betrayal.
And even if this didn't work, he would tolerate everything for the sake of his younger brother!
"Mr. Jarrett!" Wyatt quickly walked over. "This whole thing started with your family, Calista did not do anything wrong. If you dare to touch her..."
He held up the voice recorder in his hands and said in a serious voice, "Then I'll have to expose everything you've done tonight. There'll be plenty of people who can't wait to bring you down."
Calista shot a glance at Wyatt. She was surprised - while it was true that she had used him quite a bit, she didn't expect him to stand up for her at the risk of offending the Sinclairs. Levi stood at the side and tried to advise him as well, "Mr. Jarrett, Ms. Stafford is the fiancée of Mr. Kallum, so it's better if you don't behave like this."
Jarrett glared coldly at Calista and laughed as he asked, "So these people are why you have the guts to be so bold? I tell you now - if I want you to die, I don't care who the hell you are!" Even though he was glaring so intently at her, Calista's heart remained miraculously calm. "If you want to kill me then go ahead. I want to see how long your brother can live without me!" Jarrett narrowed his eyes, his face threatening! "Oh? Then you can go to hell!"
Calista heard him release the gun's safety catch, and she tilted her body to one side, the needle in her hand ready to release anytime!
BANG! Just before Jarrett fired, his gun was shot out of his hands by another gun! Calista kept away the needle in her hands and looked towards the door.
"Mr. Jarrett, if you kill my wife, I will kill you in return - I just helped you and you want to repay me with evil?"
Kallum kept his gun away and walked over. Seeing that Calista was fine, he reached out and held her in his arms without saying a word, his sharp features emphasized in the dim light, and his eyes gleaming in the night!
Kallum's sudden appearance
knocked some sense back into
Jarrett, but when he saw the two of them standing together, the anger that he just suppressed suddenly started rising again - Calista was so
bote because she had the support of this man!
If Calista knew what he was thinking, she would have stuck a needle in him and told him that she was stronger than him even without Kallum!
"You did help me..." Jarrett laughed bitterly, his bloodshot eyes still staring daggers at Calista, "But I'm in this state all thanks to Calista! If not for her, I could have come out unscathed!"
Kallum smiled arrogantly, "Didn't she
also tell you that your second uncle
would turn on you? If that is true, then you still have to thank her for tonight Without these firearms, your second uncle would not dare to do anything."
Calista glared at Kallum as he continued to hold on to her. Why couldn't he just talk to Jarrett himself? Why hold on to her?
Jarrett saw Calista look 'lovingly' at Kallum and became even more irritated.
He snorted, "How could a woman like her possibly know anything like that? I think she made it up because she was afraid I'd kill her!" Kallum did not change his stance, and said confidently, "But I believe her."
As long as he believed her, Jarrett had no reason to doubt her!
Calista felt her body go stiff and her expression darkened.
Kallum was going to protect her all the way, so there was nothing left for Jarrett to say anymore. He looked at Calista, unwilling to lose to her, and said, "But this woman really has a lot of tricks up her sleeve, isn't Mr Kallum afraid to be cheated by her?"
Kallum's deep-set eyes calmly glanced at Calista, before he lightly snorted in reply, "She's my woman, what business is it of yours?"
Jarrett pursed his lips together tightly. Tonight was not his night at all - every person he met made him angrier and angrier!
He took a deep breath and shouted, "Let's go!"
If he stayed on any longer, even if he didn't die from getting beaten, he would die from getting angry!
Levi was also in shock - he didn't expect his big boss to appear over such a small thing! And he was here for Calista! He began to worry that his boss was going to blame him for what happened to Calista. Kallum saw that Jarrett had left, so he nodded at Wyatt. "Thank you Mr. Wyatt for telling me."
Calista glared angrily at Wyatt when she heard this! She was still wondering why Kallum suddenly appeared - so it was Wyatt who spilled the beans!NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Wyatt didn't feel worthy of Kallum's 'Mr. Wyatt', and hastily responded politely.
Earlier he was afraid that something bad would happen to Calista when he received her texts, so he decided to tell Kallum - and all that happened proved that he had made the right decision.
