Her Freezing Heart

Chapter 13- Cassidy

Chapter 13- Cassidy

“So what is wrong with her? Why is she so sick?” Alec asked Caleb after Amara left for the cabin.

“I am not sure if I should tell you.” Caleb or was it Carter murmured.

Both the twins looked woebegone and ashamed.

“Off course you should. She is my twin sister. How would you feel if anything happened to Carter and

nobody is telling you anything?” Alec snapped.

Twin? Does that mean they have the same powers? No that can’t be. He feels completely human. Well

Amara felt human as well but there was something about her that said otherwise. I need to figure this

out soon or the girl will be too long gone to save at all.

“We didn’t knew he was doing such thing.” Caleb started after contemplating a little. I can feel the gear

in his head working. “Well you see… Amara…”

“Her mate is cheating on her.” I said after having enough of his shuttering. “She is suffering from the

effects of her mate cheating on her.”

The twins glared at me but quickly looked down. Alec on the other hand looked angry.

“But… what…” Alec started. “So she will be sick like this forever?” He gritted out.

“No.” Carter said. “She will die from it eventually and a painful death at that.”

“What do you mean my sister will die?” Alec whimpered, his eyes wide in fear. “No…that can’t happen.

I can’t let that happen. What can we do to stop it?”

The question was directed to me.

“I have to check something. I do have a theory and I am 99% sure it’s correct but to put it into action I

have to do something to stop her heart from freezing. It’s already quarter gone. One more episode like

before and her being this close to her mate, I would say she will be on the brink of dying. I have a

hunch that I will find my answers at the cabin but she won’t take me there.” I explained to them.

I just hope her mate keeps his dick in his pants till I figure out a solution or it will get really hard to save

her.

“What theory?” Carter asked me.

“Well for one, I don’t think she is human, not completely I mean. She is part human. She is somehow

linked to a powerful spirit but I can’t see it. I felt that spirit when she was in coma. It somehow brought

her back. I thought we will lose her then as her heart was half way frozen but the spirit knowingly or

unknowingly fixed it. Not completely but it stopped at the quarter part. That spirit didn’t feel human

either. I lived for more than five centuries but I never came across anything like this. It’s like a missing

link. I just need to find it out. Maybe if I can talk to that spirit, I can convince it to reside in her and it will

probably stop the condition from getting worse. With time she might heal completely.” I told them.

What could it be? What kind of spirit can be so powerful that it I can’t see it? I will need to pester Amara

enough to make her give in. I was so engrossed in my thought that I didn’t notice the twins going stiff.

“You know what that spirit is.” Greyson stated.

The twins nodded but didn’t say anything. Alec on the other hand looked confused as hell.

“So?” I asked after a pregnant silence.

“We can’t tell you. It’s a secret and I don’t think Amara or the said spirits will like a witch to know about

them. We don’t trust you yet.” Caleb hissed.

“So I was right. There is more than one.” I said smirking.

They both looked mad. I wanted to laugh at them but controlled myself.

“For all we know you could be a plotting something against us. Witches are not to be trusted. That’s the

first thing we learn.” Caleb said maliciously.

“Well I am here to help. My nephew went through the same thing and I helped him. The only difference

being, he is vampire so we had more time then but with Amara, I can’t say the same. She is withering

in front of our very eyes. You got to take me there or it will be too late to save her.” I warned.

“We will have to...” Caleb started but midway through talking the twins clutched their ears and bowed

their head in submission.

I felt it too. Like a push on my back. The power of it demanded submission. But I am a powerful witch. I

can control myself. I can see Grayson going through the same struggle between submission and

dominance. Our kind don’t kneel in front of anyone. The surge of power was gone as soon as it came.

The power felt the same as the spirit that helped Amara earlier. But the twins were trembling slightly.

Even Alec looked shaken by it.

“What happened?” I asked them.

“The Alpha is mad.” Caleb said collecting Alec’s trembling body in his arms. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

The poor child looked shaken. But that can’t be the case. If it’s their Alpha then why does it feel like a

spirit? To top it all, why is it affecting a human so baldly?

“Your Alpha is a spirit?” I asked.

“No. The other alpha. Amara’s father. Alpha Hercules.” Carter replied.

Two Alphas?

“I don’t understand. Her father? Why are there two Alphas in a pack?”

This is genuinely confusing me. What is going on over here?

“Not two. Three. Alpha Hercules is… you can say our supreme Alpha. Trust me you don’t want to be

near him when he is pissed or be near him period. That old wolf can make a grown person piss theirs

pants just by looking at them.” Caleb replied shuddering. “He must have known about Amara’s

condition when he saw her. He doesn’t like it when anyone hurts his daughter. He almost killed a pack

member when the pack member hurt Amara after losing control. Her brother, Alpha Ryder is no

different. They are highly possessive of her. I just hope they won’t end up killing Asher. That would

make it way more difficult for Amara.”

Three Alphas? Holy mother of Jesus! Are those Alpha the spirits I felt living with her in the cabin. But

there were more two. Something serious is going on here. I need to find out about it and I will. The only

way to do that is to go to the cabin right this moment.
