Chapter 23
Chapter 23
Emma was stunned for a moment.
What should one do if he was caught saying bad things behind other's back?
Be an ostrich, of course!
So Emma's eyes began to wander, trying to pretend that she didn't exist.
At this time, Celia saw Glenn show up at the door and her eyes turned red rapidly. She stood up from
the sofa and looked at Glenn in aggrieved.
But for the first time, Glenn didn't notice her weakness. Instead, his eyes fell on her hands.
In Celia's hand, it was his phone.
Glenn gave Celia a chilling look. He shouted at Celia, "who allows you to take my cell phone?"
He voice was so scaring that Celia's hand had a shake and the cell phone almost fell off.
She said in stammer, "I...I called you but you didn't answer. I...followed the bell and found it on the sofa.
So I just...I just took it up and had a look."
After saying, she quickly put the mobile phone on the table as if it was a hot potato.
Glenn didn't say anything. He came up and picked up the mobile phone to input a wrong password, the
phone immediately showed a message that it will shut down in 10 seconds due to the password error
for many times.
His face suddenly darkened.
Celia twisted her fingers uneasily. Glenn's expression was so awful. Did he find anything?
It's impossible. Even if she had tried a few wrong password, the screen had already been off, he
couldn't find out any problems with it. Glenn's awful expression must aim at that bitch.
Celia was emboldened by this thought, so she stepped to hold Glenn's arm as if nothing had
happened. Then she said with a pitiful tone.
"I'm sorry, Glenn, I didn't expect Emma to be here, and she must be too angry if she said anything.
Don't blame her."
Emma was going upstairs. Hearing Celia's words, she gave up to hide herself. She straightened up
and said sarcastically, "Tut tut, your ability to slander is very excellent, no wonder Glenn would like you.
He must be blind."
Then Emma glanced at Glenn.
Glenn clenched his fist. He knew Emma was challenging his bottom line.
However, Emma was surprised that she didn't receive Glenn's rebuke or rough treatment. But she
didn't think much about it. The one she actually wanted to sneer was Celia.
Celia's eyes were still red, and she was puzzled by Glenn's unresponsive behavior when the bitch
dared to say such words. She pulled Glenn's sleeve and continued to stir up trouble.
"Glenn, are you hiding Emma? I heard that Jamie is crazy looking for her and he said to the public that
his fiancee is missing."
"Shut up!" When Glenn heard the word "Fiancee", the veins on his forehead jumped. He whispered a
warning to Celia.
Celia burst into tears. She had always enjoyed Glenn's gentleness and never been treated like that.
"Glenn, if you don't like me, just say it. I'll go abroad again. Don't worry. I won't bother you..."
Glenn was a little angry.
He looked at Celia, who was crying with tears in front of him, and his impatient mood rose again from
the bottom of his heart.
She used to be a good and obedient girl when she was a child. Why did she become a woman like
this?
Sensitive, suspicious, and she was also good at using her tears to get sympathy...
Glenn took a deep breath and suppressed his anger. He wiped away Celia's tears, softened his voice,
and said to her, "I didn't mean it. Go back home first. I have something to deal with her."
Celia heard that something had to be done with Emma, she looked straight into Emma's eyes.
"She stole my company's secrets. I need some time to ask her." For the first time over the years, Glenn
lied to Celia.
He coaxed Celia back to her home. And then he pulled up his sleeve and looked at Emma who was
about to run away with a smile.
Emma frowned, she said, "Hey, don't stared at me. I didn't steal your company's secrets."
"You stole when I say you stole." Glenn said.
Emma stepped back and said, "I'm warning you not to come over. I had divorced you. Don't come over,
or I'll sue you with illegal kidnapping!"
Glenn's eyebrows twitched when he heard the word "divorce", but then his eyes showed a trace of
prank.
"When did we get divorced? How could I not know about this? Where's your divorce agreement?" Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Emma then recalled that her divorce agreement had been burned to ashes with the fire in the hospital.
Emma took two steps back and said, "Even if I don't have a divorce certificate, you and I have agreed
to divorce. How can you go back on your word?"
Glenn stepped forward and forced her to the corner and said, "Why not?"
Emma's face turned pale with anger, and then she raised her hand to hit him, "you are shameless!"
Glenn grabbed her hand and snorted, "As my wife, how dare you to hook up with another man?"
The ring on Emma's finger was thrown by Glenn as early as the day when she was tied back. At this
moment, when his hands held hers, Emma felt that the man's fingers were rough.
She glanced at them and then was astonished.
From the palm of the hand, she saw many ugly scars, like burning scars.
Emma was unable to speak a word for a while.
"Well, are you satisfied with what you see?" Glenn said.
She suddenly realized, and stammered, "It's...it's..."
Her eyes were fixed on his hands which were no longer pretty.
"It was burned by the iron door when I opened it that day, and the fire spread to me after you left. It
burned my hand first."
Emma began to shake violently.
How could it be possible...wasn't he rescued earlier than her that day?
She opened her mouth and wanted to ask this question, but Glenn had let go of her hand. He adjusted
his sleeve to cover the hand that was destined not to be restored.
He raised another beautiful hand to clamp her jaw, and said, "listen."
"We haven't divorced yet. You are still my wife, the hostess of the Coopers. You are not allowed to run
away without my permission. And you are not allowed to hook up with other men. More importantly, you
are not allowed to dislike me!"
After finishing his words. Glenn didn't seem to expect Emma's answer. Instead, he went downstairs.
And left Emma standing in the same position with a dull face.
