Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1209

Flora wasn't all that familiar with Martial World, but she trusted Connor's judgment when it came to choosing a family for her; they had to be decent.

Sure enough, the next day, the Gilbert family sent someone to fetch Flora. Their approach was nothing short of cautious. News of Flora swiftly defeating Lillian had spread like wildfire across Martial World, and it seemed this prodigy had quite the reputation for a fiery temper. The Gilberts were on edge, worried that if Flora got peeved, she might go off on them too.

But to their surprise, she was just a bit reserved, yet incredibly polite, without a hint of the typical genius arrogance. This made the Gilbert family warm up to her even more.

"Miss Flora, feel free to stay another day. Tomorrow morning, we'll take you to Martial World," they said with utmost respect.

That evening, Flora lay sprawled on the bed, chin in hand, watching Connor as he packed her things.

"You go with them to Martial World, and I'll catch up with you later," Connor said, sitting cross-legged on the carpet as he packed her personal clothes into a bag, placing them neatly in the suitcase.

"Okay." Flora nodded, her eyes fixed on him. A thought crossed her mind, "Connor, once I'm there, can I come back whenever I want?"

Raul's birthday was coming up, and she had plans to celebrate with him. Martial World had strict rules, and without FUND's green light, coming and going was a no-go. But-

Connor chuckled, "For others, no. But for you, absolutely."

Flora grinned back, her gaze still locked on Connor. After a moment, she got up, skipped the shoes, and padded barefoot across the plush carpet.

"Connor..." she murmured, wrapping her arms around him from behind. Fresh from a bath, her scent filled the air, causing Connor to pause in his packing.

"Let's just finish packing tomorrow. I'm leaving soon. Don't you want to spend time with me?" she teased, her voice laced with charm, eyes half-dreamy, half-seductive.

the last piece of clothing, placed it in the suitcase, zipped it up, and set it aside. Then, he turned to Flora, scooped her up by the waist and headed for the bed.

The next day, at nine sharp, Flora officially entered Martial World. The Gilbert family estate was smack dab in the center of it, and after crossing the border, she still had about seventy kilometers to go.

Martialists could zip through thanks to their skills, so it wouldn't take them long. Since Flora wasn't one, the Gilberts had a car ready for her.

In Martial World, cars were practically a rarity since most folks didn't need them. Each family kept a few for emergencies. But these cars were relics.

So, when Flora laid eyes on what looked like a tractor, she paused, deep in thought.

"We're taking this?" she asked, incredulous.

"Yeah, Ms Flora, hop on! I'm a pro behind the wheel, no worries!" the young man, Joey, who couldn't have been more than twenty-seven or twenty-eight, replied with a nod. He was there just for her.

Flora was speechless. Connor had warned her that Martial World was a bit behind the times, almost medieval with hardly any surveillance. And it sure was true...

"Ms. Flora, come on! No need to be shy! We're practically family now!" Joey beamed, flashing a bright smile that mirrored his upbeat personality.

He cranked up the engine, and the tractor roared to life, vibrating noisily. He joined in the rhythmic jostling as he sat on it.

Flora stood there, unimpressed.

No way. Riding in this thing? She wasn't having it.
