Ex-husband Loves Me Again (Miral)

Chapter 13: Play Hard to Get

Chapter 13: Play Hard to Get

Everything seemed pathetic for Theo.He even had the urge to strangle her until she couldn't breathe out of hatred.

Danica surprised the hell out of him.He never knew that his ex-wife had such a sharp tongue.

What happened after they got divorced? She was no longer the gentle and soft woman that he knew.

Danica was now fierce and unattainable.

What happened to the delicate, loving, and caring Danica back then? She was the perfect wife that everyone could ask for.

However, Theo didn't know that she was originally like that because she loved him dearly. He indeed broke her heart and changed her. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Now that he was out of her life, her natural tenderness and adoration couldn't be given to him for the second time around.

Patrick was awkwardly standing beside Theo the whole time.

Only when Danica went inside the taxi did Patrick recover from the shock.

"Bro! What just happened?" Patrick exclaimed as if something outrageous had just ended.

He trailed his look in the direction of the taxi that boarded the gorgeous yet frigid lady inside.

"D-Did Danica actually raise her voice at you? Before she couldn't even dare to breathe loudly in front of you!" he continued.

Everyone who knew about Danica and Theo's relationship would know how virtuous and responsible she was as a Mrs.Dalton.She was forgiving, tender, and sensible.

It was as if she had no temper because her patience was excellent at tolerating Theo's unsympathetic behavior.

It was why Patrick was utterly shocked when he heard Danica arguing and contend with his friend that she even made him upset.

Because Theo Dalton was a ruthless and powerful man who would never let an opponent take advantage of something on the negotiation table.

No one could reach him, especially in the business field where his expertise was.

And no one would ever dare to mess up with him because he literally had the power to turn someone's life upside down.

Theo would have been totally fine if Patrick had not stated that Danica had become the opposite of the woman they knew before.

He compared Danica's features now and before; and all he could say was she had drastically changed.

It ignited the anger in his heart that accumulated during the entire day that Theo, who usually doesn't show emotions, kicked the trash can next to him.

Patrick the surprising scenes had ended, but Theo's outburst caught him off guard.

‘‘Could you even tell that we both know each other?’’ Theo recalled what Danica had said.

It was just one goddamn question, but those words hit him hard.

Before Patrick came to know how unfairly Theo treated his ex-wife, Theo used to speak to her with hurtful words.

She was dear and delicate, yet he shattered her.

Even if Danica had already left, Patrick could still sense the tension in his friend’s mood.

To lift Theo's temper, he tried to appease his ego by saying, "Isn't that good, Theo? It somehow means that she'll ignore you for good now.She won't be bugging you anymore, and you'll go back to your old and peaceful life."

A meaningful smirk formed on Theo's lips.He smoked the cigarette in his hand and chuckled slowly.

"How do you know that she won't pester me anymore?" Theo asked.

Knowing Danica, she might have some tricks up her sleeves.

Patrick's forehead creased, "Bro, what do you mean?"

Theo's eyes narrowed to the ground and replied faintly, "Maybe, this is one of her tricks. She's just playing hard to get"

‘‘Was Theo overthinking?’’ Patrick tried to open his mouth but chose to keep quiet.

From what Patrick saw, Danica didn't look like she was playing hard to get.She was clearly avoiding her ex-husband.

He was a womanizer himself and famous for being popular with women. He had a lot more experience with ladies than Theo, so his judgment was much more accurate.

Still, Patrick remained silent.

He didn't want to bruise his friend's ego by giving his opinion about Theo's miserable situation with his ex-wife.

Sometimes, women could act like fools who were stupid enough to do anything for a man they love.

But on the other hand, living with cruel and ruthless women would make life worse than death.

After that crucifying moment between the two, Theo's phone rang, and it was his mother calling.

Theo's head had enough of all of the problems today, but it seemed like it would not stop there.

Every time his mother called, she always urged him to marry Venice and nothing else.

"Theo, where are you? I asked you to bring Venice home for dinner tonight, didn't I?" she said in a mocking manner that made his face scowled.

He could only sigh and lie, "Sorry, Mom.It slipped out of my mind’

His mother complained in a loud voice, "How could you forget about it? What were you thinking all day that you let such an important thing slip from your mind?"

Her rant made him frown in annoyance.

"You know, Venice is a good girl. Why don't you hurry up and marry her?" she continued.

There she was for the nth time.

His mother always found a way to discuss rushing into a marriage with Venice.

"If only you hadn't been married to that shameless Danica, your children with Venice would have been running all over the house by now.I should have been a happy grandmother today, Theo.Danica just delayed everything; she complained. His brows met when he heard his mother mention Danica’s name paired with such an obnoxious word.It was harsh that he felt the need to defend his ex-wife from his mother.Hundreds of thoughts ran around his mind as an unexplainable feeling crept into him.He no longer wanted to hear his mother's rants and complaints about his life, so he said, "I'm busy, Mom.I still have many things to do.I'll hang up now."

He ended the call feeling tired after such a long day.
