Drowing In Mr. Scott's Love

Chapter 9 An Important Guest

Chapter 9 An Important Guest

"Morning...Morning, Mr. Scott."

Abby greeted her in a stuttering voice. She was so nervous that she almost bit her tongue.

"Why did you get up so early?"

Wiping the sweat off his face, Richard walked to the kitchen and poured himself a glass of water before

walking out.

Abby quickly replied, "When I was in the orphanage, I would cook breakfast for the director and my

friends every morning. I've got used to it."

"Oh?"

Hearing this, Richard raised his eyebrows slightly. He was slightly surprised, "You mean, you know how

to make breakfast?"

"Yes."

Abby nodded. Richard put down the cup and said to her, "In that case, you make breakfast now and I

go upstairs to take a shower and change my clothes. I'll come downstairs for breakfast in half an hour."

"Wait..."

Seeing that he was ready to go upstairs, Abby hurriedly stopped him. "Mr. Scott, are you sure you want

to eat the breakfast I make?"

"Is there a problem?" He looked up and asked flatly.

Abby said nervously, "My cooking... is not as good as your chef's. Are you sure you want to eat?"

She would not be able to bear the responsibility if he, who was so delicate, became unwell after eating

the food she made!

"Just do it. As a maid, you only need to listen to me and follow my instructions unless you are at

school. Don't ask too many questions."

Richard tore his gaze from Abby and went upstairs without looking back.

Abby stood there with her eyes wide open. "Since you've said so, it's none of my business if something

happens."

Entering the kitchen, Abby went to the refrigerator to confirm the ingredients.

There was a full cabinet of food of all kinds. Abby picked a few and began to cook.

About half an hour later, several hot dishes were served on the table. Richard had just got himself

changed and went downstairs.

He walked to the table, looked at the porridge and a few dishes, but did not comment.

"Ahem, I can only cook some simple food. I don't know if it suits your appetite." This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

As for Richard's taste, Abby did not have much confidence in her cooking.

After all, a big shot like him usually ate delicacies. How could he get used to such rough food?

Just as she was thinking, Richard pulled out a chair and picked up his chopsticks. He picked up a dish

and put it into his mouth.

Abby watched his reaction carefully.

Richard chewed, with little expression. He then took a sip of the porridge.

"How... how is it?"

Abby asked in a low voice, feeling especially uneasy.

Richard said nothing and continued to eat quietly until he finished a bowl of porridge. He wiped his

mouth elegantly, looked up and said to her, "From now on, don't go into the kitchen if you have nothing

to do. You're not a cook but a taste killer."

Hearing that, Abby almost fell.

"You're the one who asked me to make the breakfast, and you're the one who wants to eat. Did I force

you?

"Even if it really doesn't taste good, at least you should say in a more tactful way."

Although Abby was complaining inwardly, she didn't dare say it out loud.

"I'm out. Remember to give me your class schedule later."

Standing up from his chair, Richard picked up his coat and walked out of the door.

Abby followed closely behind like a maid and said, "Yes, Mr. Scott. See you."

After Richard left, Abby went upstairs to get her ready for school.

She was now living too far away from the school. It would take her nearly an hour by bus during the

morning peak, cover a dozen stops to get to school.

Abby's school was regarded as one of the best art academies in Great City.

Her major was photography, minoring in AD design. She had been at the top of the list all year round,

and got scholarships every year.

In short, she was a big shot at school.

When Abby arrived at school in a hurry, it was already half past eight. As soon as she entered the

classroom, she saw Sophia, her seatmate and best friend, sprinting toward her, shouting, "Abby, why

so late?! I'll kill you!"

"What happened?"

Abby was startled. She hurriedly blocked her with both hands and asked warily.

"What happened? Today is the school anniversary! Oh, dear! Have you forgotten our task which was

given by the student union?"

Sophia said angrily.

After hearing her reminder, Abby patted her forehead and exclaimed, "Oh no, I forgot it."

Today was the anniversary of the school's establishment. In order to hold the school celebration more

solemnly, many distinguished guests were invited. The task of the photography department was to take

pictures during the whole process.

"What should we do now? Are the guests present? Is it too late for us to go there now?"

"Aha, what did you do earlier?"

Seeing Abby was anxious, Sophia said angrily.

However, despite blaming her, she still stuffed a small camera into Abby's hand and explained, "I've

already arranged for other students to go to the school gate for you. Now go to the auditorium with me,

we'll take charge of the shooting inside."

"Sophia, thank you. You're the best to me."

Abby pretended to be moved and said to Sophia, almost kissing her.

Sophia said in disgust, "Come on. Let’s go. The guests here today are all rich people in Great City. Not

only will they donate money to the school on the spot, but they will also sponsor some excellent clubs

and students. In order to get sponsorship, the student union has put in a lot of effort. We must perform

well, or we will die miserably."

"Don't worry, I promise I will do it well."

Abby patted her chest and promised.

About 15 minutes later, Abby and Sophia reached the auditorium together.

The auditorium, which could accommodate nearly a thousand people, was already overcrowded.

"There are so many people. How can we get through the crowd?"

Staring at the crowd, Abby was anxious.

"Nonsense, push the way. Let's go, guests have already entered."

Sophia dragged her into the crowd without saying a word.

The corridor was crowded with people. Abby and Sophia struggled through the crowd and finally

pushed their way to the entrance of the VIP passageway. With their messy fair and twisted clothes,

they looked as if being robbed and found their camera hanging upon their chest was on back now.

"Ahem, it's so terrible. I was almost strangled to death."

After taking the camera back to the front, Abby patted her chest and kept coughing.

Sophia hurriedly patted her on the back and said, "What can I do? There is a big-shot among the

guests today, and many people are coming for him. Do you see... the dance club over there, and that

way, the astronomical club, the literary club, the calligraphy association and painting association... they

all want to ask for sponsorship."
