Chapter 23 Don’t make Anka difficult.”
She was already prepared to meet Chandler, but she didn’t realize that after several years of not seeing him, he suddenly changed his temper.
If he is still like before, ruthless, she will not have any worries to do it.
Susan unconsciously panicked and targeted him everywhere in business. She wanted to see him down and out and wanted to make a clean break.
He didn’t seem to feel anything about the business rivalry. The more one hates, the more one wants the thrill of revenge, and Susan was no exception, as she stole several of his projects in a row.
“Mr. Walker, so far, Anka has stolen three of our projects.” The man at his disposal couldn’t help but remind.
Chandler didn’t care and nodded nonchalantly, “Got it.”
“Then …”
“If she is willing to take it, give it to her. See if you have any more projects lately, negotiate them all together, and then give them to her.”
He carelessly brushed the matter aside. This kind of treatment made the people under his command puzzled and could not figure out what he was thinking.
Chandler admonished, “In the future, whenever there is Anka’s meddling, don’t make it difficult.”
“That’s not good.” They looked at him with difficulty. If they gave away all the resources, what would they do? Several subordinates stared suspiciously at the man in front of them, wondering if he was the boss here or not anymore.
Chandler glanced at them and asked rhetorically, “What’s wrong with that, as long as she’s happy.”Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
The rest of the group choked at the words, not knowing what to say.
He got up from his chair and spoke, “Is there anything else you want to say? If not, this is it.”
“No.” They shook their heads in unison.
Closing the computer, Chandler went to stand at the window, took the keys from the drawer, and left.
As the lights came on, she locked the office door behind her and turned to leave the place.
With her hands in her pockets, she walked out of here with her head down and fast.
Alex went back home, and she was the only one walking outside today. She pulled the straps on her shoulders and then continued on her way.
She crossed the park path and looked ahead and passed by quite a few people. The night was always ambiguous, and she passed quite a few couples as she crossed the bridge.
She stood on the bridge at the head of the river, looking at the city at night, only the red and green lights, and the reflected boat lights on the river.
Nothing to see, she shook her head and sighed, and continued to walk forward.
When she got off the bridge, she realized something wasn’t right. She always felt that there was someone following behind her, and when she walked past the streetlights she slowed down a bit, and so did the person behind her.
Susan’s heart lifted, cautiously taking a few steps forward, although she couldn’t see what the person following looked like, the more this happened the more panic she felt.
She clutched the straps on her shoulders and held the bag tightly.
She took two quick steps and then jogged straight up, disregarding whether the people behind her could catch up, ahead of her was the night market street, and she kept running until she slowed down inside.
Susan took a look, then panicked and took out the phone from the bag, subconsciously making a call.
The other side quickly picked up, ” what’s up.”
“Alex, can you pick me up now?” She asked cautiously, cold sweat already seeping out of her back from the tension.
“I have something going on right now.”
Alex’s voice didn’t sound good, as if he was suppressing something. After a few seconds, his voice returned to normal, “What’s the matter?”
“Nothing.” She answered in a low voice, and without waiting for the other side to speak, she hung up the phone.
Her hands were already sweating coldly with tension, and the people behind her were still following. The footsteps were unhurried as if they were taking a leisurely stroll.
Susan fixed her mind, secretly hypnotizing herself not to be nervous and not to be afraid, but her fingers are still trembling involuntarily.
She is probably screwed today, but the more this happens, the calmer she became.
Despair or something, she has tasted enough, now she do not need these.
All the pain in the first half of her life was given by Chandler, and now it was her own fault that no one could be blamed.
Susan’s lips were pursed to pale, and her face was extremely uncomfortable.
It was always going to be a bad day. She smiled and slowed down a bit.
On either side were stalls that smelled like food, and she glanced at them, her stomach growling.
The unspeakable hunger washed away much of her nervousness. She touched her stomach and eventually walked over normally and asked for a serving.
Even if she was going to die, before she died, she had to eat something delicious to eat. This way, there will not be too much regret later.
The smoke smeared her eyes and Susan couldn’t help but cough and stare with bated breath.
“Excuse me, I’ll buy a few more, can you do me a favor?” Susan suddenly asked.
The owner raised his eyes slightly, his hands moved without stopping, but he spoke with a hint of laziness: “If you want credit, go fuck yourself.”
Susan smiled and immediately explained, ” It’ s not about that, can you help me hold off the person behind me who has been following me? I don’t know that person.”
