Not lying
Someone was knocking my door when I woke up. When I opened my eyes, I realized I had taken a very long nap because it was already dark.
“Coming,” I yelled though I didn’t feel like getting up and had no energy. What did he want, anyway? I thought he was supposed to be with another girl.
I got out of the bed and switched on my bedroom light then checked myself in the mirror to make sure I wasn’t looking like hell. I quickly ran a hand through my hair and tied it up into a ponytail. I drank some water from a glass on the table and splashed little onto my face. My face was quite okay for a person who just woke up.
I opened the door expecting Alec but to my utter surprise it was someone else, a person I didn’t want to see.
It was Ross.
I forced a smile and invited him in. As I was closing the door after Ross entered, I saw Alec seated on the sofa looking grim. His girl had gone.
“How are you, Lynn?” Ross asked when I sat on the bed next to him. Why is he in my room after all he did?
“Fine,” I said with a forced smile.
“I know you’re not,” He said matter-of-factly.
So what are you gonna do about it?
“Oh really?” I asked, looking at my desk which was opposite my bed. “You’re a psychic now. Interesting.”
“I know you very well even-”
“Better than I know myself?” I cut him off before he completed the sentence I hated most. I really didn’t like it when someone said they knew me more than I knew myself. Unless someone’s head doesn’t function normally, you can’t know about them more than they do.
“Let’s forget about that,” He attempted to change the subject. “Is something wrong? Can I be of help?”
“You’re really stupid,” I said. “What makes you think I want to tell you anything after what you did last time? You walked out on me! How could you?”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“Right. That’s why I’m here,” he said putting his hand on my shoulder. “I came to apologize.”
I just stared at him because I was dazed and my mind wasn’t functioning well. Not because of what he said but because his hand was resting on my shoulder. It sent all sorts of feelings to my body and I was getting uncomfortable. I think I’d fallen for him, even though I’d always viewed his flirtation as a joke.
“I’m very sorry, Lynn.” He said quietly. “Will you forgive me?”
I managed to look at him. He looked really sincere and he was staring right into my eyes and it was intense. He wasn’t so close but my mouth was dry. Ross is so attractive, I thought.
“It is fine, Ross.” I managed to say quietly after looking away from him. I wasn’t even sure if he heard it but I knew he did when a smile appeared on his face making it more beautiful. Oh my goodness! I couldn’t help but look at his features and analyze how perfect they were.
“You’ve made me so happy,” He cheered and I smiled weakly. “I feel like hugging you because this is the best news I’ve received in a while.”
Hug me, please.
I wished he could, but I couldn’t say it out loud. My wishes where granted when he asked. “Can I hug you?”
“Of course!” I beamed and in a second, I was in his arms.
It felt so right with his touch electrifying my body. I felt goose bumps on my skin and his body was so warm that I held him tighter. I wanted to remain in the position forever but to my disappointment, Ross pulled away.
It was awkward minutes after that because we both didn’t have what to say. Ross looked quite undecided and I hoped he felt the same way as I did. Then I remembered the girl who’d been with Ross.
“Are you dating someone?” I found myself asking. Why did I have to be so dumb? Of course they were and by the look on his face, I knew I wasn’t going to like the answer.
“Why do you ask?”
“For goodness’ sake, I thought we were friends.” I said. “Just answer the damn question.”
“No.”
I didn’t believe that after what I’d seen. Why did he love to lie to me?
“You’re lying.”
“Nope,” He was calm and it confused me.
“What about that girl?”
“Which girl?”
“You know whom I’m talking about” I retorted. “She kissed you in the parking yard.”
“You mean Carina?” he asked. “I’m not dating her. In fact she has a boyfriend but I just used her as a distraction.”
“Huh?”
“Yeah, I needed to forget about you because I wanted us to remain good friends like we’d always been. I have feelings for you, Lynn and when you kissed me I couldn’t keep them in control anymore. I wanted to continue to kiss you so bad but I couldn’t betray Chris because he liked you first. That’s why I left before it could get out of hand. I thought having someone else could make the feelings disappear.”
“But it never happened and that’s why I’m back. I really like you, Lynn.”
My mouth was open the entire time. I was shocked, surprised and couldn’t believe it all. Ross liked me? Oh no! This was bad.
I was speechless! Of course I liked him. I wasn’t sure if I was in love with him but had interest in seeing where it could lead to. I couldn’t lie to myself. The constant flirtation had drawn us together and this confession just increased my interest.
“Lynn,” he said quietly causing me to look at him. My heart was beating furiously like it wanted to explode. I was trying hard to breathe as he leaned closer. Then his lips touched mine. I no longer knew what was happening because I was drunk with feelings. All I wanted was him. After a while I parted my lips letting his tongue in. He tasted divine as our tongues moved in sync.
Without breaking the kiss, I shifted from our sitting position to laying down with him on top. My hands wound around his neck. One of his hands found its way inside my shirt and massaged my burning skin. This caused a lot of pleasant sensations making me pull him closer. I didn’t care if his weight would suffocate me. My hands travelled lower to remove his shirt because I wanted to feel his skin against mine. He broke the kiss for a while as the shirt came off. We were trying to get mine off when we heard the door open.
I looked towards the door to see Alec standing there.
“What the heck are you doing, Lynn?” He yelled as he walked in.
What was his problem?
