Finale
I crawled weakly towards Damian, ignoring the shards of broken glass that were cutting my knees and wrapped my hands around him shakily.
I cried like I have never done before as I tightened my arms around me while he returned the hug too.
“He is finally dead. We did it.” I whispered as more tears kept on flowing down my face like a waterfall.
“You did it.” Damian muttered as he buried his head on the crook of my neck.
I cried harder as I held him closer. That was a really close call. I suddenly heard footsteps sounding out side so I picked up a pistol.
I was about to shoot at whomever it was that would enter the living room when I saw Felix trooping in carefully with some boys behind him.
He is still alive??
“Fuck!!!” Felix cussed out when he saw Mark and Grey’s dead body.
He still hasn’t noticed our presence because we were at a dark corner.
“Make sure they are all dead. None of them can leave here alive.” Felix ordered.
“Yes boss.” The men said as they began checking all the bodies.
“Don’t worry, they are all dead.” Damian said.
They turned around in alert when they heard his voice. They were trying to trace where it came from.
“Over here.” Damian said again which made their attention turned towards us.
He turned towards us and smiled. He walked towards where we are and knelt close to us.
” Are you guys alright??” He asked.
I didn’t say anything but could only smile.
“Do we look alright?” Damian asked back.
He winced when he noticed our injuries.
“What so you so long?” Damian asked as he struggled to sit up.
“I was caught up in some situation.” Felix answered as he took out a blanket and wrapped it around my almost bare body.
“I can’t believe I missed everything.” He said again.
“Believe me, you should be glad you did. We barely survived.” Damian said.
“Really?? Then how come he ended up like that??” Felix asked as he turned to stare at Mark again.
Damian didn’t say anything but turned to stare at me. Felix’s eyes widened when he noticed his stare.
“You don’t mean it. Selina took him down??” Felix asked in surprise.
“Obviously. Enough of the questions. Let’s get out of here. The dead bodies are starting to make me sick.” Damian muttered.
“Oh.. okay. I need help over here!!” Felix said and some boys came over towards us.
They carefully assisted Damian on his feet since his wounds were more severe.
“Can you walk??” Felix asked and I nodded.
I was about to get up when I felt a migraine and my eye sight started to get blurry. I shook my head so my eyes could get clearer and tried to stand up again.
My system finally gave up and I fell back on the hard floor before lost consciousness.

I smiled as I kept walking around the beautiful garden. The same one Damian had taken me to. I inhaled the scent of the scented flowers and sighed happily. This is heaven.
I got to the lake and was about to get in when I heard whispers. More like arguments.
“When is going to be awake?? Isn’t that Damian’s voice.
“Soon we just have to wait.” And Felix.
Wait for what?? What are they talking about??
The beautiful garden suddenly disappeared and I was pulled into a dark tunnel. The voices continued so I decided to follow it since I didn’t know where I was.
“You have been saying that for the past two weeks now and I still don’t see any changes in her situation.” Two weeks?? It has been two weeks already?? “If you would be more patient…” “Don’t tell me to be patient. I am getting really tired of you saying that. Do something.”
I kept walking and walking towards the voices. “I have done all I can already….”
I kept on following the voices till I saw a little light emitting far away, same directions the voices were coming from. I was getting somewhere. I smiled and started walking fast. “Are you just going to give up then?” “I never said I was going to.” “Then why don’t you do something for her to wake up.” “The situation is out of my hands right now. She would wake up when she wants to.”
I finally reached my destination. I looked around to see we were back at the mansion. My room to be precise. Felix and Damian were talking to each other.
Felix looked really angry and frustrated while Damian seemed really worried. Why is he like that?? Then, I noticed that I was lying on the queen sized bed with an IV strapped on my wrists.
They didn’t notice me because they were busy arguing. I tried talking to let them turn their attention towards me but no words could come out.
So I decided to clear my throat. The sound drew their attention because they turned to me. Their eyes shone happiness and relief at the same time.

I remained calm as Felix kept checking me all over as per Damian’s request. While Damian kept looking at me with worry.
His actions made my heart melt.
“How is she now?” Damian asked when he noticed Felix was done with the check up.
“Thankfully, there is no problem with her and it would continue like this if she keeps on taking the drugs I prescribed for her.” Felix answered.
“Are you sure??” He asked again.
“Yes.” Felix answered as he packed up his suitcase.
“What if…”
“Damian. He said I am alright so just trust him.” I said reassuringly. I was trying to calm him down.
“Yeah. Listen to her.” Felix said as he tried to hide his anger.
“Okay. I have heard you.” Damian said in mock surrender.
“Since my work is done here, I’ll take my leave. It seems like you guys need some alone time.” Felix said.
“Good thinking. Now excuse us.” Damian said as he brushed him away before coming to seat on the chair beside me.
“Rude.” Felix muttered angrily as he left.
I couldn’t help but chuckle. These two are like cat and mouse.
“It is so nice to finally hear you laugh happily.” I heard Damian say so I turned to stare at him in confusion.
“Why do you say so??” I asked.
“You don’t know how scared I was when I saw you collapse that day. It was all my fault. I couldn’t even protect you from Mark. I don’t know what would have happen if things went south that day. I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if he had his way with you. I am so sorry princess..” Damian said all in one breath as he shut his eyes like he was reliving that scene all over in his head.
“Hey hey… it isn’t your fault. You protected me in your own way.” I said as I recalled how he tried to exchange his life for my dignity.
“But it wasn’t enough. I couldn’t even stand up on my two feet. I am nothing but a weakling. I don’t deserve you when I couldn’t even protect you from harm’s way” He muttered.
“Don’t say that. You did all you could even till the las moment. You even gave your life for me.” I said.
“But it wasn’t enough. He almost had you and all I could was watch.” He said as he bowed down his head and sniffed.
Is he… crying???
“Damian, look at me.” I said but he didn’t answer me.
“Damian1!” I called again as I raised his head with my hands.
His eyes were already red from the tears. It made my heart break for him.
“Damian. It wasn’t your fault. You did all you could for me and I really commend you for that. You are human so things can’t always go your way. At least it didn’t go south. We managed to stop him…” “You did.” Damian said.
“No Damian. We did. We stopped him together. Believe it or not but we did it together so please stop blaming yourself for what happened.” I whispered as I used my thumb to wipe the tears from his eyes.
“We did it.” He muttered as he took my hand in his and placed a kiss on it.
“Yes Damian. We did.” I answered as I smiled.
“I love you, Selina.” He suddenly said as he stared at me.
My mouth opened but no words could come out. His words were so sincere that I was really shocked. This was the first time he was confessing to me and it made my heart melt.
“I love you so much.” He said again which made me smile.
“I love you too.” I muttered with a smile playing on my lips.
His eyes glittered as he smiled happily.
“Really??” He asked like he was unsure of what I just said.
“Yes. I love you, Damian.” I repeated.
He leaned in and pressed his lips on mine. I took in deep breaths as I enjoyed how his lips moved against mine.
When I was almost breathless, he pulled away.
“Close your eyes.” He said.
“Why??” I asked in surprise.
“Just do it.” He said. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
I decided to listen to him so I closed my eyes. I felt him stand up. Moments later, I felt him hold my left hand and then, slip something cold on my finger.
Don’t tell me….
“Open your eyes.” He said and I did.
My eyes widened when I saw the diamond ring on my left finger.
“Damian…” I called tearfully.
“When I watched unconscious, I didn’t understand how I felt. My heart broke anytime I saw your injuries. Something finally occurred to me, I realized that I can’t live without you. So I promised myself that if you woke up, I would never let you go. So Selina, would you give me the honor of being my wife?” He asked.
The tears I have trying to hold finally came rushing down like a waterfall.
“Yes. I will be your wife Damian.” I answered tearfully.
He smiled happily and wrapped his hands around me.
“Thank you so much, for making me the happiest man on earth. I promise that you won’t regret this decision.” Damian said.
“I know I won’t” I answered as I buried my head on the crook of his neck.
We might not have had the best beginning because at first, I saw him as an egoistic bastard, a criminal and a murderer.
But now, I see him as the man I would keep on loving for the rest of my life, the man I would get married to and the one I would spend the rest of my life with so I think we would have the best ending ever.
