CEO's Substitute Bride

Chapter 308

Chapter 308

Alyssa didn't feel anything about Henry right now, but she could tell that Henry's words came from the bottom of his heart.

She waited for Henry to finish before she said, "From now on, just be yourself. As for me, I already have Emmett."

"Are you sure you can walk to the end with Emmett?" Henry had never been optimistic about her and Emmett.

Alyssa thought for a while and said in a serious tone, "Anyway, I never thought of living with someone else other than Emmett."

This was the simplest thought in her heart.

She could not imagine living with other men. So, even if it was very difficult now, she had to persevere.

Henry laughed at himself and said. "I understand."

After that, the two of them began to chat casually.

Most of the time, they were talking about the past, and it was basically Henry who was talking about it. Alyssa was in charge of listening.

After listening to the meal, the two of them walked out of the room and prepared to leave the restaurant.

At the entrance of the restaurant, they coincidentally met Dylan and Skylar.

Skylar was still brooding over Alyssa's rejection of her. So when she had the chance, she naturally would mock and ridicule Alyssa.

Her gaze swept over Alyssa and Henry. Then she immediately raised her voice and said, "You failed to seduce Emmett so you decide to return to Henry again, right?”

Alyssa had just gotten a DNA test report from Henry, and now that she had met Dylan, her gaze naturally turned to Dylan.

Skylar saw that Alyssa had been staring at Dylan, and immediately stood in front of him and said, "What are you looking at? The grass is greener on the other side, right? Do you want to seduce Dylan? You are shameless!”

However, Dylan did not care at all and greeted Alyssa, "Hi, Alyssa."

Alyssa called out, "Mr. Backer."

Henry, on the other hand, was looking at Dylan with interest.

Because of their status and social circle, there were very few opportunities for Henry and Dylan to meet.

It was purely a coincidence that he got the DNA test report, so he was very curious about Dylan.

George Lawrence's illegitimate son.

Was he really just an illegitimate son?

Henry smiled as he thought things were not so simple.

"Dylan!" Skylar saw that Dylan was talking to Alyssa and called out to him unhappily.

Dylan lowered his head and looked at Skylar with a gentle expression. "No matter what, Alyssa is your sister. Even if you don't have the chance to cooperate with her in ‘Lost City’ this time, there is still the next script, right?"

Dylan's words made Skylar look like a cat that had been tamed. She immediately became obedient.

Alyssa narrowed her eyes slightly. No wonder Skylar went to the Lost City production crew for an audition. It turned out that it was because of Dylan.

Dylan used to act in suspense movies. He naturally had his own taste when he read the script.

However, Dylan let Skylar go to "Lost City" for an audition. Was it because he liked the script of "Lost City," or was it because he simply wanted Skylar to be unhappy with Alyssa?

It was hard to say.

Alyssa had seen how bad Dylan was.

Alyssa had no intention wasting her time by talking to these people. She only whispered to Henry,

"Let's go."

After that, she lifted her foot and walked out.

After parting away from Henry, Alyssa did not go home, instead she drove straight to Emmett's residence.

She had the key to Emmett's apartment.

Of course, Emmett had given her the keys earlier.

When she opened the door and went in, the room was pitch black. Emmett had not come back yet.

Alyssa turned on the light and went to every room to take a look.

At that time, she was immersed in the grief of losing her daughter very much. That’s why although she had lived here for a period of time, she hadn’t noticed the interior very much.

There was a thin layer of dust on the kitchen counter. This proved that Emmett had never cooked at home.

Emmett himself did not know how to cook. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.

There was nothing else in the fridge other than a few bottles of water and wine.

It really did not look like a house that someone was living in.

After taking a look at every room, Alyssa came to the sofa and sat down.

Alyssa waited for a long time. When it was eleven o'clock, Emmett still did not come back.

Therefore, Alyssa decided to take a bath. She then turned off the lights and ran to his bed to sleep.

It was not until one o'clock that Emmett came back.

He entered the room and turned on the lights. When he looked down, he noticed a pair of lady's shoes by the door.

Who else could enter his house other than Alyssa?

The corner of his mouth unconsciously lifted up. The exhaustion on his face was swept away in an instant. He casually threw away the suit jacket on his arm and untied his tie as he walked towards the bedroom.

There was no light in the bedroom, but Emmett was already used to the arrangement of the room. He quietly walked to the bedside and reached out to turn on the bedside lamp.

Alyssa slept on his bed with the blanket wrapped around her body. Her long black hair spread out and covered the pillow.

When he came back from work, he saw Alyssa sleeping on his bed.

It was a scene that only appeared in his dreams.

Emmett's throat moved. He leaned close to Alyssa and reached out to push her hair away from her face. He gently kissed her.

Ever since she returned to Holston City, Alyssa turned to be light sleeper.

So even though Emmett's actions were extremely light and smooth, she was still woken up.

She opened her sleepy eyes and turned her head, only to see Emmett's handsome face.

"You're back." Because she had just woken up, her voice was a little hoarse and it sounded a little childish.

“Yes.” Emmett sat down by the bed and touched her face. His voice was gentle. "Well, have you been waiting for a long time?"

Alyssa nodded. She reached out to get her watch that she had placed on the bedside table.

Emmett saw through her intentions. He grabbed her soft and slender hand and said, "It's almost two o’clock."

"You're working overtime until so late?" Alyssa sat up as she spoke.

Emmett helped her up and said. "No."

He denied it so easily that Alyssa knew he was lying.

Alyssa was not so easy to coax. She turned her head to look at him and said. "It doesn't matter if you

say it. I will ask Frank later."

"I’m busy recently. However, it’s just a matter of time." As he spoke, Emmett could not help laughing. He looked at her face, which was becoming more and more beautiful under the light and could not help but go over and kiss her.

It was a very light kiss. He separated as soon as he touched her lips. "Go to sleep first. I'll go take a bath."

"I'll wait for you. I have something to tell you." Alyssa had always been keeping the DNA test report in mind and wanted to tell Emmett earlier.

Emmett was stunned for a moment and then nodded. "Okay."

Alyssa also brought the DNA test report that Henry had given her and put it in the drawer of the bedside table.

When Emmett came out of the bathroom, she passed the DNA test report to him.

"What is it?" Emmett stretched out his hand to take it and looked at it. With a single glance, his forehead was twisted into a knot.

He sat on the bed and finished reading the DNA test report.

When Alyssa it over, she directly flipped over to the end to look at the results.

But Emmett clearly seemed to have known about something. He looked at the report for a long time

before raising his head to ask Alyssa, "Who gave it to you?"

His tone was very serious, as if he knew who this was and whose DNA was compared to in the test report.

Alyssa honestly said, "Henry gave it to me."

When Emmett heard her, his eyes narrowed dangerously. His tone was slightly heavy. "You went to see Henry again, didn’t you?"
