Chapter 31
“I told Ms. Gardner not to touch the box on the headboard because it’s important to you.” Rosie looked at the angry Liana ambiguously.
Rosie intentionally mentioned how much Jasper cared about Alice’s gift to provoke Liana into revealing the truth.
“I threw it away,” Liana confessed angrily, just as Rosie had anticipated.
Fury filled Jasper’s eyes as he asked, “Where is it?”
“Jasper, why do you care about a gift from Alice? You’re divorced. I’m your fiancée. Have you considered my feelings when you cherish her
gifts?” Her eyes became teary. Her acting was so natural, thanks to Sophia’s teaching.
“I’m asking you. Where is it?” Jasper’s tone turned cold, and he ignored her tears.
Shocked, she forgot to keep up her act and stammered, “I-It’s in the trash bin in the backyard
Jasper ran to the backyard. He was drenched in the rain instantly. He rolled up his sleeves and searched through the trash bin for the box.
“Jasper! Stop! Look how filthy it is!” Liana yelled from the corridor.
Filthy? Perhaps, the Beckett family didn’t know how many trash bins he rummaged through when he was five.
As an illegitimate child, he and his mother had to survive those days by selling recyclable items.
Jasper grew up in the dump. He was so familiar with the environment that he found nothing wrong with it.
Finally, he found the box covered in dirt. He sighed in relief.
Rosie rushed over with an umbrella to shelter him from the rain. He couldn’t help the urge to open the box. Almost instantly, his eyes
turned red, and his expression darkened.
The once ironed and clean suit had been cut into rags!
He turned his gaze toward Liana, who retreated in fear. His sharp gaze was suffocating her.
Without a word, he walked past her with the box.
She mustered the courage to hug the man. “Jasper, have you fallen for Alice? Did you regret divorcing her?”
“No.” His chest heaved up and down due to the surge of emotions.
Feeling grieved, she became forceful. “But you’re angry at me. Are you angry because I threw Alice’s gift away? It keeps reminding me of the three years you spent with her. Have you ever considered my feelings and how it makes me angry?”
“What can I do to make you stop?” Jasper pushed her away and sighed. “I’ve divorced her and decided to marry you. Even if Grandpa is
against it, I put up with it.
“But you went too far by destroying her things and cutting up the clothes she made. You even spread rumors about her being aRêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
homewrecker. Everyone is criticizing her.
“She’s no longer part of my life. Yet, it seems like you can’t let go of her. Enough. Stop, Liana.”
His words froze her with humiliation. The reality check sent a shiver down her spine.
It dawned upon Liana that Jasper had learned the truth.
“Jasper… Do you think I did it because I want to? I did it because I love you.”
His frown softened, but he remained distant. “If you ever face difficulties, you can come to me. I’m willing to help, as long as it doesn’t
harm others.
“But I dislike how you manipulate situations under the guise of love, especially when it involves the people I care about. You announced our wedding to save your family’s business. I can understand that. But I hope this is the last time.”
He left without looking back, leaving Liana seething in anger. At that moment, all she wanted was to put an end to Alice once and for all.
“Ms. Alyssa, Mia contacted me. Jasper caught her red-handed when she was coming home from work tonight. He knows she’s a substitute.” Sean placed his wine glass aside.
He figured that she would be tired after wearing heels the whole day. He kneeled on one knee to massage one of her feet.
“That’s expected. But I didn’t think he’d find out so quickly.” Alyssa enjoyed the massage so much that she narrowed her eyes in pleasure.
“After dealing with Gardner Group, our next target is Beckett Group. Since Mr. Jasper has given the word, I suppose I should join the game,
