Chapter 61: The Birth
Chapter 61: The Birth
Chapter 61:
Ashira’s POV
In spite of Nick’s motivation and hard work to held a pack party, he succeeded. After three days of
preparation, the party is ongoing tonight at the pack’s clearing.
Nick insisted for a wild party so he picked a bonfire theme in the heart of the Prime’s forest where
booze and feast are served. I sat in the man-made stage together with the officials of the pack, and
Aiden beside me.
The pack people has started eating, drinking and dancing. Everything is so peaceful and they are fun to
watch.
“I got bored with this loud get-together.” Seth said out of the blue. He does look bored as he sip on his
drink. Ava chuckled beside him.
“You’re just no fun!” Nick said as he bob his head with the music. “Having a mate made you guys no
fun!!!” And I think he’s a bit drunk.
“Oh yeah? I think you are just too horny, looking for some wild chick.” Seth teased.
Aiden and I laughed when Nick started his tantrums. He look so childish blushing and embarrassed
upon hearing his friend said that.
I wonder when Nick finds his mate. He’s the same age of Aiden and Seth yet he hasn’t found his fated
one.
“Do you think Nick will find his mate soon?” I whispered to Aiden. His arm is stretched on my shoulder,
rubbing his fingers on my arm. I don’t need a coat despite the cold of the night, Aiden’s warmth is
enough.
“Maybe this year.” he smiled and kissed me on my temple. Aw! We are outside and he still acts so
sweet! Okay, I need to get used with his gestures. I don’t think he will change anytime soon.
“How did you say so?”
“His…” he looked at me and seems hesitant to add his words.
“His?”
“Nick’s sexual urges are unusual these days so I guess he will find his mate this year.”
Wow! That’s a thing? Oh, my! I can’t wait to see a mated Nick! He is so loyal to the pack, works beyond
a pledge and once he found his mate, I know he will be hell-bent inlove with her!
“What’s with the sexual urges though?”
Aiden squinted his eyes at me as if he was studying if I’m being serious with my question. What’s
wrong?
“Male wolf like us experiences an unusual thirst when we are about to meet our mate soon. I was
surprised you didn’t know that, you seem knowledgeable with pack rules and traditions.”
So that’s their cue, huh?
I shrugged, looking away. “I’m not interested with the mate bond before and given less attention with
mate-related topics.” I admitted. That’s true, though.
He leaned closer to me and even without looking at him, I know he stares at me.
“Hmm,” he hummed, retreating the words he wanted to utter. My huge guess is he wanted to tease me!
“Well, I’m glad you still came here for the ball even though its for your favor.”
I snapped my eyes to him and found that playful smirk on his face. “I didn’t!” Liar, Ashira! You did
wanted to meet your mate to escape the danger of your abnormality!
Argh. How fast my guilt has eaten me.
Aiden chuckled and pulled me closer. “I’m just teasing you, baby.” he kissed my forehead. “I need to
give some words to the pack. I’ll be back.”
I watched as he walked to the highest corner of the stage, taking everyone’s attention. The pack people
looked at their Alpha with eyes full of admiration and love. While I look at my mate with overwhelming
pride.
He earned the loyalty of his people because of being himself, a good leader, tough and righteous. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Holding my belly, I thought of my unborn child.
‘Quillon, if you really came out as a boy like your father said, you will soon set foot on the same spot
your father stands right now. And I know you will be just like him. Fearless with a heart for his people.’
I smiled imagining my unborn child. I found another reason to fall in love with this life.
“Everyone enjoying the night?” Aiden started that made the people howl and cheer, showing how lively
there were tonight. “That’s good.” he chuckled. “As everyone know, these past months were not as well
and peaceful but rest assured that every struggles has been solved. This night is a way to thank the
Heavens and the Moon for giving their guidance, and also to celebrate a great news.” he turned and
look at me. “Our Luna has blessed our pack with a ruler descending from my blood, a gift from the
Moon Goddess to tighten the strength of Prime!”
“Luna! Luna!”
I stood up and wave to the people and I can’t stop my eyes from getting wet for the tears of happiness
that threaten to fall down my cheeks.
Howl and screams of pleasantries echoed the forest and I laughed from how lovely this evening has
become.
“Enjoy the rest of the evening.” Aiden said as his closing remarks. I can’t help but remember how he
said the same words during the Mapping Ball. The only difference is his vibe. He looked more carefree
now than before, more light, not soft but not too tough either.
Just an Alpha in his best mood.
“Can I have a dance?”
I didn’t realize I was too drowned with my own thoughts to not notice Aiden’s reaching hand. I arched
an eyebrow at him. The party music is playing again right now and I’m not sure if he does want me to
dance wildly tonight.
“Uh, I’m pregnant.” I said in a hesitant voice.
Aiden looked somewhere and the music was changed into a slow, romantic song.
I laughed and received his hand. We walked to the middle of the crowd and the people seems like a
sea swayed by a ship, moving away and giving us our space on the dancefloor.
Aiden carefully placed my hand on his shoulder, kissing the back of my palm first before letting it go.
His arms found its place on my waist and his eyes are sparkling with the fire’s light from the bonfire.
I can’t stop smiling. I never thought that dancing with someone you love can give this kind of emotions.
A feeling so deep that I forget the people around us, drowned with the world we build just for us.
Aiden leaned forward and I closed my eyes when his lips touched my forehead. “There’s a lot of things
I regret…” he whispers, pressing his forehead with mine.
His eyes are closed, he looks so peaceful yet troubled.
“Which are?” I pry, closing my eyes, too. Feeling every moved, every touch. Hearing his breath, the
sweet music, my heartbeat.
“A lot. But first is not dancing with you at the Ball.”
I chuckled. “You should regret that. I looked awesome that night and now you have a big belly between
us as we dance.”
Aiden chuckled. “You are beyond amazing even until now, baby. Our child made you even more
beautiful though I would like to squeeze you in my arms right now and he is getting in the way.”
I laughed and slap his shoulder lightly. “Don’t bully him! He might come out any moment if you keep
complaining.”
“Oh, he should. He kept getting my way a lot of times.” he pulled away and looked at me with a huge
grin on his face.
“How could you say that!”
He pouted his lips, and I know he is thinking about something again!
“This will sound selfish, baby, but once Quillon is born, I promise you more sleepless night.”
My cheeks flushed hot from the thoughts that run to my mind because of what he said! I can’t believe
this guy!
Aiden chuckled and drew me closer to him. I quickly rested my head on his chest, hiding the
embarrassment given by my naughty mind while Aiden just laughed more.
“I hate you.” I mumbled.
“You don’t mean that.” he countered.
Hmp! “Yeah, I don’t.”
Aiden chuckled and planted soft kisses on my head. “I love you, baby…” he whispered and I blushed
even more.
I kept on hearing those words from time to time but I still love how it sounds in my ears. That husky,
sweet, soft voice saying those words just gave more sincerity and I felt how true it is from hearing the
beating of his heart.
I smiled. “I love you more…”
He pulled away to give me a long satisfying kiss.
On that night, while the wind blows, the fire glows and our people witnessed our love, I know from the
depth of my heart that I will never get lost. I accepted my fate and I won’t stop loving Aiden.

Aiden’s POV
“Ahhhhhh!” Ashira screamed in pain.
“Fuck! Go get Zynia!” I ordered Nick. It’s time for Ashira to give birth! The moment we came home from
the pack party, her water broke and now she won’t stop screaming as she lay on a hospital bed I
prepared for this day.
“Baby, I’m here. I’m here.” I tried consoling her since she holds my hand so tight like she’s afraid to let it
go. “FASTER!” I shouted to Nick again.
I don’t know what to do. Fuck! She’s hurting! She’s in pain!
“Aiden!!! Ahhhh!”
“Baby, please, please, shift. Shift on your wolf.”
“N-No! Ahhhh! It fucking hurts!”
Fuck! Why is she so stubborn! From the amount of pain I see she’s in, I know its too much! Will she be
able to do this?
“Ashira! Listen to me and shift now!”
“Don’t start an argument about this, Aiden! Ahhh!”
“No! Shift or I’ll make you shift!” I can order her to. I can use my power to command her. She is my
Luna but I’m still the Alpha-
“No.” she tried calming herself by blowing breathes. “P-Please trust me on t-this. I w-won’t leave you
this t-time.”
Her words slap me hard that I awaken from the darkest corner I been wandering. I kept denying it but
now I truly admit defeat with the fear of losing her for real.
“I will take it from here, Alpha Aiden.” Zynia came and I took a step back, letting her do what needed to
be done. “Ava! Get some warm water and towel!”
I just stood there, watching my mate scream, be in pain, drowning in her cries but… trusting her.
Those days that the Alpha King healed her, three days of waiting for her to wake up, is pure hell.
What I felt that time is different from when she was taken by Elon. Those days, she’s on my grasp, she
is with me but I don’t know if she really is.
She didn’t wake up the same time given by the King, she is alive, I can still hear the sound of her heart
beating that day. I never intend to stop hearing those heartbeat, afraid that it may stop.
I was devastated, scared but held none but to hope. I hoped, I prayed, I begged for her to be fine, for
her to wake up, for her to be alive.
Multiple times that I told myself its okay that she is stolen but please keep her alive, let me see her
eyes open, let me see her doing anything but laying on our bed in deep slumber.
And now, I’m scared that she won’t make it as she deliver our baby. I’ve known a lot of Luna who lose
their life giving birth. I don’t want to lose her this soon. I can’t live, I know I won’t be able to.
I’m selfish, I know. But I want her with me. She is the only thing that I see necessary, a gem I can’t
afford losing or I will trade my life.
But Ashira is right. I need to trust her. She can do this. She will deliver our baby and both of us will
raise our son.
It’s a boy. I know its a boy because I heard it spoke to me before. It’s a boy.
You can do this, my love. I silently cheered.
“Uwaaa!” a child’s cry echoed in the room and I feel like I saw a different color, a newfound life. I
quickly went beside my mate, grabbing her hands with both of mine, feeling her pulse, hearing if it
beats just right.
“I-I made it…” she seems too weak but when she smiled, I almost cried.
Leaning in, I gave her a kiss in the forehead. “You did, baby. Thank you…” Thank you for being alive,
being with me, giving birth to our child, for giving me life. I wanted to say a lot but I can’t utter any more
words.
“It’s a boy!” Zynia shouted and the people inside the room cheered!
“L-Let me hold h-him…” Ashira begged.
I went to Zynia and my mouth parted as I saw my son.
‘Everyone get out!’ I ordered to Ava, Seth and Nick. I looked at Zynia and we both got terrified.
My son’s eyes are oceanic blue! A Blue Paraiba Tourmaline shade of eyes!
“This is…” I can’t be wrong. This eye color distinguish its beholder’s fate. My son, he…
“The King didn’t succeed.” Zynia whispered back.
I looked at Ashira who’s eyes are closed, waiting for me to give her the child. What should I do?
“We need to conceal the truth…” I don’t know how but there is a way. I know there is a way.
“I will agree, this is for the safety of the child, Alpha Aiden.”
But Ashira wanted to hold her son. Do I need to deprive this to her? I can’t let her know, the fewer who
knows, the better. This is not the right time for her to know.
I can feel the pup’s strength suddenly surging, the same feeling I had when the King is around. But this
is much suffocating…
‘No, baby, I need to conceal your power this instant.’
“Let’s-”
“Alpha Aiden, look.” Z showed me the baby. It has stopped crying and calmly looking at me right now.
His eyes slowly changes color as he looked at me. It turned golden-brown, just like mine.
“I think he concealed himself…” Zynia softly whispers and I can hear the fascination in her voice. “This
little guy knows what’s going on.”
This is not the first time my child heard me.
“Oh, look! He is smiling!”
I smirked as I saw my child smiling at me like he is proud of himself. Huh! I got a smug kid.
Chuckling, I took him from Zynia’s arms. “Behave now and conceal yourself for a while. Your mother
wants to see you…” I whispered and he giggled, the most cutest sound I ever heard in my whole life.
“Thank you.” I whispered and gave him a kiss on his head.
“Oh, God!” Ashira’s eyes are pooled with tears the moment I laid our child on her arms. “Oh, my! I love
him!” she looked at me with teary eyes and I know just how true her words meant.
I looked at the both of them and I never thought I could see my own world right before my eyes. This…
Its enough.
“Aiden, he looked just like you…” she smiled at me. “But he got my lips. Ohhh! Quillon, you are so
cute!”
The baby kept giggling and I saw pure happiness in my mate’s face. I moved up to her and gave her a
kiss on her forehead.
“I love you.”
Looking up at me with a smile, “I love you, too, Aiden.” she said.
Quillon still possess the power of an Alpha King. Zynia was right. Whatever the King plans to stop, he
won’t be able to break the fate given by the Moon Goddess.
The King helped me bring Ashira back to our bond, and I didn’t trade anything for it.
I don’t need to blame myself any longer. I have nothing to keep with Ashira now. Once she recovered, I
will tell her the truth.
