Chapter 23 May you be together for a hundred years.
A stone stirred up a thousand waves, and the people in the gallery drew a cold breath.
Even for real murderers, it is rare to admit their crimes so directly.
There was a shock in Noman’s eyes.
Why did she say this?
There was also surprise in the judge’s eyes: “Defendant, this is a courtroom, and you are responsible for what you say.”
Cindy looked straight into the judge’s eyes.
Since Linda was going to put her to death, maybe that was the only way Eric could really leave the Scott family alone!
“Your Honor, what I said is the truth and what I really think in my heart, I hate Linda, I want her to die!”
“Cindy! Are you out of your mind!”
Noman shouted, breaking down, getting up from the gallery, and rushing towards Cindy!
The judge picked up the gavel in his hand: “Silence!”
The disciplinary staff took Noman out directly.
The courtroom was quiet again.
The judge looked at Cindy, who was standing in the defendant’s chair, met Eric’s gaze, and asked again in a deep voice: “Defendant, are you sure that your motive was to kill?”
The lawyer stood up anxiously and tried to argue, but the judge simply interrupted-Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
“Let the defendant speak for herself.”
Cindy’s gaze went over to Linda’s side. As expected, she saw ecstasy in Linda’s eyes.
Did she think she could bring her down?
Eric, on the other hand, was frowning, as if he was worried about her.
This is ridiculous.
“Yes, I admit it, I did want to kill her,” Cindy repeated her words.
Her face was so determined that she obviously didn’t need anyone to defend her anymore, and even the lawyer wiped his sweat frequently, feeling sorry for her.
After the trial, Cindy was escorted down to the courtroom.
As she passed by the two people sitting in the gallery, she took a step.
A straight spine supported her entire pride.
Her eyes fell on the pair of red jade pendants around Eric and Linda’s necks, and she hooked up a deep smile.
“I wish you a long life together”
After saying that, her back faded away and eventually disappeared at the courtroom door.
Eric’s gaze stayed close to each other, his heart not feeling good.
She … surprisingly just admitted her guilt.
The first time she saw Eric looking at the door like this, Linda took his hand and shook it, and said petulantly, “Eric, what are you looking at? Cindy is really vicious; I didn’t think she would try to kill me from the beginning! Luckily you came quickly …”
Eric heard this voice; his heart rose with faint disgust.
That surveillance, he had also watched.
Pulling his hand out of Linda’s, Eric got up.
“Come on, go home.”
