Chapter 42 Kelvin Lewis's Principles
Chapter 42 Kelvin Lewis's Principles
At the Office of the General Manager
Kelvin Lewis sat on the sofa, still turning the lighter over his fingertip, he stared at the phone on the tea
table, but did not see Becca make a call or send a text message to him.
‘By all accounts, he bought her something, and she should say thank you anyway.’
‘Has she not been deflated?’
Someone knocked at the door. It was Anna Harris. And then she opened the door and stood at the
doorway.
"Mr. Lewis, the gift is ready," she said and just walked in, putting a gift box on the table.
"OK, thank you," Kelvin Lewis answered.
He gave a glance at the gift box and when Anna was about to leave, he stopped her. "Just like
yesterday, send it to Miss Garcia."
Anna was surprised.
‘What's going on with Mr. Kelvin? Yesterday he sent flowers and today he wanted to send a necklace.
Was he really interested in that Miss Garcia?’
"Okay." Anna, though, was surprised, but not expressed on the face. She came in and took the gift box,
when she went out, she happened to come across Bill Martin to come in.
Bill made an eye exchange with her, and Anna gave him a look at the gift box in her hand, with a shrug.
"Master Lewis." Bill closed the door and opened his mouth hesitantly, "you want to give Miss Laura a
gift again?"
Without his eyes even lifted, Kelvin Lewis picked up his own phone.
"I heard that yesterday when Ms. Harris went to send flowers to Miss Laura, Miss Becca was also
present," said Bill carefully.
Kelvin stopped his motion for a while.
"Although you have a reason to do so, Miss Becca, after all, does not understand what you really
mean. She watched Ms. Harris send flowers to Miss Laura yesterday."
‘She witnessed it?’
Kelvin had an afterthought. ‘So she is angry for the sake of this?’
"Well," Kelvin responded with a voice.
"Also, Mr. Alan has just ordered a change in tomorrow's recipe in the canteen." Bill frowned. "You
see..."
Kelvin said, with his eyes narrowed, "He's had a lot of time lately?"
"I have just noticed that Miss Becca has not gone to the dining hall today." Bill continued.
Kelvin did not say anything. ‘She did not eat anything? Is she uncomfortable?’
Hearing this, he just got up and walked out. When he only stepped out of the office door, he ran into
Alan, who just come out of the elevator.
Simon pushed his wheelchair, Kelvin stopped, with his eyes lowered to look at him.
"Master Lewis." Simon greeted Kelvin with respect, and Alan stared at him with a smile as usual.
"You have anything urgent to do?" Alan broke the silence.
Alan squinted his eyes, but did not want to talk with him.
"We haven't had a conversation for a long time, and now, I think it won't take you too much time." Alan
continued.
The two looked at each other for a few seconds, Kelvin retracted his gaze and turned back to his office.
"Go ahead." Kelvin sat on the sofa again.
Simon Jackon and Bill Martin walked out of the office, leaving the two brothers with exclusive space.
"When I came up, I happened to meet Ms. Harris." Alan turned his wheelchair to the floor-to-ceiling
window. From the position of this top floor, Alan could see the view outside.
"So?" Alan waited for his following words, "You are so used to staying at home that you now come to
my place to gossip?"
Alan had a very good temper and he just smiled, "I just want to remind you, don't go too far, if you really
like that girl, you should choose to keep a low profile."
"Do you think I'm like you?" Kelvin replied with a cold voice.
Alan’s smile became instantly stiff.
"It's been so many years since it's been, haven't you put it down yet?"
"Put it down?" Kelvin sneered. He stood up and stepped towards Alan. "You want to tell me, you have
put it down? Alan Lewis, how dare you to say such a thing? You are now still sitting here, enjoying the
glory of all this with a title of Heyday Group’s Vice President, but my aunt? She's dead. Why did she
die? You put it down so easily?"
Alan's hands in the wheelchair tightened, and he then was completely in a sullen mood.
"I know you hate me." Alan answered him in a low voice, "I also know you will never forgive me, and I
didn't expect us to make up. Today, it's my interfering."
He was about to turn his wheelchair and go back, but the soft carpet made it difficult for him to go back.
His forehead sweated. Alan stood by and watched him in distress, but still did not come forward to help
him.
"Simon!" He shouted outside. Simon heard the voice and come in.
Simon knew that the two brothers would be unhappy whenever they gathered together. No doubt, the
atmosphere in the office was particularly solemn and heavy, and he came over right away and pushed
Alan's wheelchair.
"It’s none of your business about my everything. As a man who can't protect his girl, you don’t have the
right to point fingers at my private life?" Kelvin turned his back over and no longer stared at him. © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
"Master Lewis." Simon was beside Alan, seeing that the two men were so tight before, and he wanted
to explain for Alan, "Mr. Alan just does not want you to repeat the same mistakes. Isn't what he has
done for so many years enough to atone for his sins? "
"Simon…" Alan stopped him, "Don't talk too much."
He looked in the direction of Kelvin, with a dim expression.
"Kelvin." He called out the ever closest name, "I know you are strong now, and you are the head of the
Lewis family and CEO of the Heyday Group. But exactly because of these titles, every move of yours
has countless people to keep an eye on you, your situation is not much better than I then was. I feel
sorry for you and her family, but, in the end, is it really me who resulted in your aunt’s death? "
"Get out!" Kelvin looked back, with a strong hatred in his eyes.
Alan twisted the brow and looked directly into Kelvin’s eyes. Finally, he just lowered his head.
"Let's go." He opened his mouth, Simon pushes Alan’s wheelchair out of the office.
With the door closed, the cranky Kelvin kicked on the marble tea table, with the tea set shaking for a
moment. Bill guarded outside the office door, holding his own breath.
‘Master Kelvin had a bottom line. No matter who touched it, he would become extremely angry-- That
was his youngest aunt, Iris Stewart. For the sake of Iris’s death, he and his father, Henry Lewis, had a
distant relationship for so many years, and his once closest oldest brother Alan Lewis became an
enemy.’
Big families are far less glossy than outsiders see, and there are far more tragedies and gloom than
those that are spoken to the public.
Becca returned to the residence and began to consult the information intently. With the help of Kelly
Clark, a person just like Doraemon, she could see all the complete information of the past shows.
She was so absorbed in her work to prepare for the design competition. Even yesterday's anger and
frustration were left behind.
But when she was focused on her. Bang! The door was pushed open vigorously, which frightened her.
Kelvin was unstably leaning against the door, holding the door frame in his hand, bowing his head, and
Becca was unable to see his expression clearly
"What are you doing?" Being was disturbed and felt extremely impatient, but Kelvin stood still there.
She was very confused and walk toward him.
"Don't think I'll forgive you as long as you play cool at my door. I'm telling you..." She just walked beside
him, without finishing talking. Alan had already scooped her away and pressed her on the door panel.
"What are you…" Becca closed her eyes.
"Don't talk." Kelvin's lips wiped through her face, breathing out a puff of wine, and he finally held her
tightly.
‘Did he drink?’ Becca did not move.
"My baby girl." Kelvin's voice was extremely gentle, "I was doing wrong. I now apologize to you. Don't
be angry with me and never leave me, OK?"
Becca was shocked, with her eyes open wide. She had never thought that these words were from
Kelvin's mouth.
